Annomander, if I become insane and go for that Phoenix solo, am I bound by the rules? My aim is to join the cool kids, and that thread looks like a good start.
My aim is to become the official Biotic God, the Volus Vizier. I wish to be called Lord of Biotics, rather than Vodka (which I don't drink much anyway), so it's Phoenix or the Clocktor I'm considering.
Na, the rules only apply to the 6 Reckoning Characters.
And, as Merc said, no one is forced to obey the rules. And no, stardusk should not be complaining about the Cabal because of platinum solos.
The game isn't balanced around solo play.
The game isn't balanced around anything you can quanfity... the game isn't really balanced at all.
How was the typhoon overpowered, when an infiltrator that can have INFINITY lives and never once worry about dying is not? How is the reetard crutchbine balanced as a rare that does more damage than anything else in the game... when the ultra-rare spitfire is pitiful by comparison?

This game is balanced around making Infiltrators the absolute kings of this game, supported by 5 types of lowly servants.
They kind of blew it with the QFI (she's balanced), so they quickly adjusted the balance with the GI followed by QMI. Then we had the famous Shadow Crisis, but the dark ages are long gone, thanks all the divine creatures. The TGI was almost the bullseye, but with the AIU they really hit the spot.

I sincerely hope that you posted on the wrong forum. Otherwise, you are among the worst at building a class that I have ever seen. a ****ing Javelin on the cabal? really? not only are her passive damage bonuses incredibly high, but she isn't an infiltrator. The cabal is designed to be a really fast paced character, utilizing hit and run tactics and her poison. if you are sniping on her, you are wasting an amazing class. You seem to be one of those idiots who believe that if you equip a good gun on any class, it's efficient. You couldn't be more wrong. The javelin is among the heaviest guns in the game, which makes it only useful on an infiltrator because of the whole thing with cloaking and shooting right afterwards results in a very short cooldown. that class is NOT a shooty class.ryoldschool wrote...
I go 06666 with an javelin on platinum, raider on gold.
i understand about using the javelin on the gi and drell infiltrator. I tried a build with poison strike and it was horrible for me. A friend used this build on platinum with the harrier so I copied it. However, it does well with damage resistance and I am good with the javelin. Don't dismiss a viable build without trying it. I reload cancel with biotic focus which has an hunter mode like highlighting of enemies.
Wait... what!?!?! Who said you have to be an infiltrator to use sniper rifles...?? I didn't know such rules existed in the game. I know and play with friends on Platinum with non infiltrator characters with sniper rifles and score well over 120k +. Obviously they must be doing something right. Its all about player skill, yes, how you build your character also helps, but all in all its how you play that character. Green jacket, gold jacket... who gives a sh*t!!

Arguably, the AIU was balanced around platinum solo play, as was the TGI and GI..............and possibly kroguard too. The rest of the classes, not so much.

There was a Shadow crisis?
I thought that was more due to the stupid slash powers than anything else the Shadow had.

I think he means a crisis because they released an infiltrator (shadow) that was just overpowered, not STUPIDLY overpowered...

The shadow is overpowered now? Good god. So glad it's Eric's job to balance things and not yours. If you had your way we'd all be stuck using level 1 HEs with nothing but avengers.

Just because you use him focusing on SS because it's hella fun. Truth is, build him on weapon damage and use SS only occasionally, and he's just as OP as any other infiltrator.

Vanilla is very powerful, but Stickies require precision and Cryo Blast isn't Snap Freeze.
Drell and Huntress are guilty pleasures.

Stick tactical cloak on anything and you've instantly got 80% stronger weapons.
If that's not powerful, I don't know what is.

You clearly wouldn't be able to join the developers team.
You can't see the big picture.
You wouldn't be able to come up with Repair Matrix Infiltrator. I doubt you'd even be able to design an Ops Pack one.
Also, I think that Talon and EDI should switch classes. EDI should get the Cain Mines, Repair Matrix (same grenade pool) and Snap Freeze, Talon should have his bow and Tactical cloak. Low damage on the bow fixed, invulnerability less accessible. Also, the kits fit the other class more.
Just my two cents.
