Yeah I actually disliked the fact that mass effect became more action focused in the sequel and they ditched some of the RPG elements and it felt more like a tps than a rpg.

I have played most of bioware's older titles, I just prefer action RPGs, not that I dont like the old school pure number grinding dice rolling RPGs, I just prefer the combat of action oriented ones.

And yeah Bioware have never tried open world before, who knows maybe they could pull it off, but personally I dont understand the hate for open world games. I just like open worlds with gorgeous vista's more than corridors with the illusion of a big world around them.

I didn't realize there was hate for the open world games. Honestly, my only concern toward an open world Bioware game is that they just don't do open world games. Doesn't mean they can't, mind you. I'm just concerned with the quality of a first try, unless you count SWTOR as a first try . . .

No comment on SWTOR. Yeah.

Open world could really work for DA:I but open world games need bigger budgets and more development time. I guess only time will tell what path Bioware have taken.

I guess maybe it might not be a good idea for Bioware to experiment open world after DA2. I really hope they succeed with or without an open world, but open world would be my preferred choice.

I'm disappointed in the dragons period, but thats what comes to expecting to much i guess ie i was expecting highly intelligent creatures, something akin to dragonlance where they could like take on the form of humans or other beings, not just this basic one step above every other beastie you encounter.

having said that though its only 2 games in so im hoping theres alot to be discovered still regarding them

Dragons are suppose to shapeshift and there are elemental dragons i want too see that.

Dragon shapeshifting is a very, very recent pop cultural invention- shapeshifting is to dragons as sparkling is to vampires.

Um no, you do realize a crapload of myths, lengends and lore in different cultures have dragon shapeshifting in them, it's not a "pop cultural invention."

Other cultures have radically different conceptions of dragons.

So radically different that giving them the same name becomes very misleading.

Simple question.

Why would these Dragons have such things like elemental types and breeds in Dragon Age, when until 40 years ago in the timeline people didn't know they even existed, let alone were so numerous?

Pretty much. Asian style dragons shapeshift, the antlered, maned, serpentine beings associated with water, not the clearly European inspired ones of Dragon Age. Shapeshifting western dragons didn't enter pop culture until 1980s RPGs decided to conflate the two types of dragon.

According to lore dragons have existed before the steel age and there origins are discussed in the comics to dating even before that stating they were rulers of the world and existed in massive numbers. They were bought to near extinction by dragon hunters and the races of thedas believed that they were finally wiped out for good. Their re-emergence is why the time period is called the 'Dragon Age'. Fact is they have existed for many many years.
