Addictress - I'd recommend simply deleting everything in your override folder, and, if it affects the saves so that you can't continue, just start over - you are not that far into the game yet, and if you want variety, you could try another origin.

For ANY game, I'd strongly recommend playing it through at least once without any mods, or at most, with only mods that do very minor tweaks. That way, you get to experience the game as was intended by the makers, and you'll get an experience you can compare the modded-game experience against. Otherwise, how will you know whether your downloaded mods made the gaming experience better, or worse for you?

You don't mention the mods you have installed, but I get the picture that you've installled quite a few. Some mods conflict with each other, though that usually just means that one of the conflicting mods won't work, but by installing many mods at the same time, you do increase your risk of making the game buggy.

Anyway, hope you'll resolve your problems fast, and get to enjoying the game. It's a great game indeed!

If you like a guide to installation of DAO, DLCs and mods, here's a great blog:
http://social.biowar...736/blog/12959/

Looking at your error log, it looks like either a bad download, or perhaps the source file (on the server) is bad.

Starting with the vanilla game is usually best, but if not then start with just a few (Like
Terra-Exs Morriogan Restoration Patch
http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1120
Ejoslins ZDF
http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=928
Avaraen's Dialog Tweaks .93a
http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=336
These three are fully compatible, and despite their focus have a number of minor bug fixes and tweeks (but no game cheats)

If you use more mods you will have to spend time studying their compatibility - they may alter the same files; you'll have to decide to use over-rides or dazips.

Keep having fun!

I deleted all those dds files and save often. Game still crashes every half hour but it's manageable.

This sloth demon maze is highly frusterating.

*deep breath* alright. I finally reached Fort Drakon.

I'm sad my romance with Alistair went so slow I didn't get to bang him. I'm only at 85% at Fort Drakon. I'm so crushed.

Why didn't you get to bang him?
What do you mean with feels worse? More tragic, or just a bad ending?

I missed Duncan's shield but got him the amulet at Redcliffe. I think I projected my real-life shyness on my character and chose not to speak with him that much early on, being cautious about topics. Until it was too late.  But I made all the paragon Alistair-approving choices and took him on every mission ever. :(( So sad.

Also holy brotheloni. Who'd guess trap skills would become so essential in the final battle. I almost didn't spend any point on trap skill. So glad I did!

IMO you're right on the money.  Alistair too is very shy - at least around women.  He needs encouragement (ie lots of conversations)  to move from friendship to something more.  Unlike Morrigan, Leliana or Zevran.

ok ok spoilers

Queen Anora  ruled alone and Alia Cousland  rebuilt the Gray Wardens  with Alistair.  Loghain died.  Harrowmont was king. Lanaya was the new keeper. Connor  and Isolde both saved.

I'm just now trying Dragon Age out too... gotta say it's good so far... with the exception of the gameplay basically being Neverwinter Nights*didn't see that coming*. I hate that gameplay and always have. That said, it's nice going into a good story based game with zero up front knowledge, hard to do nowadays.

The realistic combat/gameplay is one of the things that I like so much about DA:O.
