I like the idea behind ME3 themes and tone such as war, death, despair, grief, loss of hope, unity and many more. I could see similar paralles between ME3 and Metal Gear Solid. Big Boss from MGS feels haunted by his past events as does Shepard feeling regret over the loss of life of his former friends and such. These themes suited my Shepard who I wanted to have a bit of a certain sadness surround him, coming from the colonist background and feeling a duty to protect human colonies after events on Mindoir.

I can obviously see the change in tone as it was more serious in ME3 which I have come to admire. I hope Bioware makes more use of this as I really enjoy stories that involve these.
