Ok, it's been a few months since I changed my OriginID, but apparently everyone in my friendlist still sees my old name, which leads to confusion.

Does anyone have any clue on how I can encourage Origin to spell my name right? :P

I fear the lack of replies means that no-one knows a (possible) solution?

You can always go for a live-chat-origin-support.

I still see the old nick of a friend of mine, even though he changed it. I thought it was supposed to be like that.

Worth a shot I guess, though I doubt that fixes my friend's origin clients :P
Any clue where Origin stores its temp files?

Worth a shot too, I guess. I get lost on Origin/EA websites though, any chance you have a direct link? :)

There's little use of changing your OriginID if your friends are 'supposed' to see your old name. I'm assuming this is a bug. :innocent:

Ok, it seems live-chat is not supported for my country, or I'm overlooking the option. All I get is a phone number. Any ideas? Could I just change my country settings to UK or US to have live-chat? (after all, my English is good enough).

I have the same problem. Or to be precise, i've had it now for months. The best i got from EA was some "tech expert" telling me how i should reinstall origin numerous times and when that did not work the same guy suggested that my friends should reinstall their origins aswell. At this point i just quit caring about it.

*'Edit: And what i mean by tech expert is that the EA live help could not address my problem properly, so they forwarded it to someone who can (?) do something about it. Turns out they couldn't.

Hmm... there must be a way to reach a real "tech expert", if only I knew how. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem.

Gosh I hate Origin. It fails to do the most simplest things...

The most disturbing thing is that the ID i changed to, was showing correctly to my friends. At some point one of the Origin updates screwed things over. *sigh*

It's a server side bug of some sort on EA's side, there's nothing you can do about it. I have multiple friends with the problem, I think it showed up with the jump to version 0.9.

My guess is that some idiot stores origin original usernames in a separate table from everything else and it gets consulted when it absolutely should not.

You can get live chat by opening up Origin, selecting 'Help' at the top and then eventually you'll see the option for 'live chat' then just wait.

I don't see it. Could it be the client differs per country?
