Kai Leng's email to Shepard in ME3 appears to be awful. Unleash your inner writer and became champion of community by providing alternate that can enchance ME3 experience for everyone.

How would this work?
With d Paradoxaction Mass Effect 3 Translation Tool it's possible to change text that appear in-game including emails. Winning fanfiction would be included in space reserved under this message with introductions how to mod it in game.


Why contest?
1. Because this way we could have some sort of fan canon, though of course anybody can add what version they ever feel would enchance their ME3 experience the best.
2. To test limits of what can be done said tool, how much text may be used, which may turn out to be useful knowledge if tool is used to create other mods.

I don't think you really need to make it a contest, man.  Just the thought of it is pretty neat, and establishing a single fan canon isn't the best idea either.  Why not just make this topic a place for people to try their hands at making Kai Leng even more of a bastard than he already is?

Here's my take.

"I let you live, Shepard.  I could have killed you back on Thessia, but I didn't.  And now every breath you take belongs to me. Think of it as debt you can never repay, and an eternal reminder of your failure.

Thessia is burning  The Reapers are harvesting it right now because you weren't strong enough. Fast enough. Good enough.  You failed.  The people of the galaxy looked to you for hope and you abandoned them.  The blood of untold billions are now on your hands, and there is nothing you can do to wipe them clean. The galaxy now knows that their so called champion and savior was nothing more than a fallacy, a dirty lie instigated to give them false hope of survival.  

I spared you because I wanted you to gaze upon this brave new world the Illusive Man is building for humanity, and to know with absolute certaintly that you were wrong about destroying the Reapers.  

You were right about Saren, you were right about the Collectors, and you were right about the Reapers.  But you are wrong about destroying them.  The Illusive Man has shown me how we can control them, make their power our own and dominate the galaxy as Gods among mere mortals.  We can become so much more if we turn the tables, and make them submit to us!

At the end, you would kill every last one of them.  But I, we, will choose not to.  Cerberus will spare their lives, just as I did for you.  We will ask them a question.  Is submission not preferable to extinction?  They will answer just as Saren did, and then humanity will become the masters of this galaxy.

Take solace in the fact that your failure lead to humanity's deliverance unto immortality.  It's not too late to change sides, Shepard.  There might very well be a place for you in our new galactic rule, but only if you abandon your petty loyalties to the other races.

Consider the offer.  It is the least I can do.

Well, it's "contest" in quotes for a reason... :-P but I will try to make that banner if anyone really wants that sort of thing.

Fan-canon is difficult subject indeed and I agree and tried to imply in OP, that people of course could use whatever is posted in this topic, whatever they feel would fit the best in their experience

Kinda lengthy for a villain who's mute for most of the game if you ask me. 


Personally think it should be a simple:

Sender: ?????

I know you're tracking me.  You won't find me in time.

Everyone you love will die.

Thanks!  And, yeah, it was a bit wordy, but I wanted to really get under Shepard's skin more than the old message. Appeal to her sense of morality and the grief she feels for letting Thessia fall.  Gloating is all well and good, but if it doesn't strike deep at her insecurites, it won't do much.
