Anderson is in london, getting his people killed, facing reapers lasers and indoctrination, hiding in a dirty bunker, needing that shepard army ASAP, and he suddenly wants shepard to watch movies, play the piano, and party ?.

This is utterly inconsistent with ME3 story, where my shepard took a couple naps and felt guilty about it. This in ME2 would have been a wonderfull set piece, If this victory would have been AFTER they get the victory I would be clapping and throwing money at them. Buy they took some fanservice, they got everybody out of charcater, they retconed the reapers apparently, and now we have to fight heath ledger's mistery boss.

Conspiracy to kill shepard ?, well, I guess they failed, because my shepard is alive in some ruble in london, victim of Biowares inability to finish properly a story we loved for years, and now crumbles in cheesiness and nonsese in the name of fanservice aimed  for people that loved the ending.

Shepard also ended conflict between Quarians and Geth, saved the Krogan from the Genophage, found the Leviathan, took back Omega, and other things. He deserves a drink in a casino and a movie to watch.

While the DLC looks great, will the lancer make an appearance as an available weapon in SP eventually?

Pretty please :-)

Its sad when im the only one rolling my eyes at the trailer... Lets party, oh and random guy x trying to kill you. Its whats killing this series, the masses rather have heartwarming moments instead of actually having them when its applicable. This is gona be EC normandy pick up all over again. But its "sad" when its sad it fixes everything.

Don't worry, you are not the only one. However, it's not that bad; I think this DLC has a huge gif potential so at least it will make me laugh. Watching vids? Samantha taking a bath (wearing her underwear... again)? Garrus...uh.. DANCING? :o It's funny, yeah, but I don't see how it fits in a shooter franchise either.

Any chance we can change the position of characters in the group picture?

Hmm.

Leviathan was about story.
Omega was about action.
Citadel is about interacting with your crew.

Am I right?

Sure I know that Anderson cares about Shepard's wellbeing, but there is no time for anything like this.  So glad to have a vacation as the reapers just wiped out all of Asia.  Cool.

I'm not saying it doesn't feel forced, merely saying it's not out of character for Anderson to consider Shepard and his/her mental state very important (and is also already established in the retail release). We don't have the entire story yet, just the trailer. It could be a circumstance which requires the Normandy to re-arm, re-fuel and resupply or somesuch, and Anderson (though why it's Anderson and not Hackett is extremely odd, but I'm willing to concede that for narrative and theme) happens to order Shepard to take shore leave in the meantime, If the DLC comes hot off the heels of Priority Rannoch (and it does), then it's entirely reasonable the Rannoch campaign requires the Normandy to return to the Citadel for resupply -- which you return to the Citadel anyways for the Priority: Thessia breadcrumb, and it perfectly stands to reason after Rannoch the Normandy has expended enough resources that resupply is necessary.

If that's not at least touched upon, then I'll be disappointed, but as things stand there is enough slack to cut BW on this.

Now granted, the scale of this war makes all REAL wars look like nothing, but still, it's hard to believe that the concept of R&R would be completely abandoned.

Bull. I hated the ending . So much so that I started reading the forums (one and only time).

This is a chance for a bit of fun before ME becomes Shepard-less. I'll take it and enjoy it hopefully, but I still won't play past the elevator to heaven.

Shepard can't go to Earth on his/her own.

He/she has to wait until the combined galactic forces are ready. That's not Shep's call.

I appreciate this position entirely, but this isn't accurate for me.

I hate the endings very much - although I've made peace with EC Destroy.

But I've decided to try and enjoy the rest of the content as much as possible.

How long is Citadel DLC?

I get the feeling that it's no longer than 1 hour 50 minutes.

Looks good, and it does seem like the ME2 squad won't actually be involved in the story segment. Which is fine, just wish I hadn't gotten my hopes up with that first pic and the original info release.

They're giving mixed signals on that. On the one hand, Wrex is the only former squadmate in the last shot. On the other, they've now released multiple promotional pics showing Miranda and Jack preparing for combat, and I think they'd be the two easiest ME2 squadmates to integrate (since Jack's mission is long over and Miranda is potentially available at any point before or after her mission).

R&R is Important. shepard is the glue holding this army together, Anderson wants the army to be as large as possible, and thus, doesn't wamt shepard the burn out and end up dying because he is too overworked (like cortez, if you tell him to keep up the work)

Therefore the DLC is about 2 hours long.
Logical conclusion no less...

Does anyone else think it would have been cooler to just have people come in and try to kill Shep rather than have some random Alliance chick telling you about it? What is the Alliance on Shepard protection duty? Gotta be careful with those Batarians, they seem to really want Shep's head..... *rolls eyes*

I hope that Alliance chick isn't a temp squadmate.

Shepard clearly DOESN'T deserve it before the actual war is over.
That's what most intelligent and logical fans would think.

The DLC looks great, no doubt about it. It seem to have the focus that got me to play Mass Effect in the first place, which is a focus on the characters. But it feels very strange to have this kind of a DLC in the middle of the game.

Yeup.  I'm sure Anderson has plenty of time to shop for apartments for shep during his downtime.  I guess theres a realty broker out there with QEC communications.. or maybe one of his troopers who lived on the citadel just died.  Hey.. not like he's going to use it anymore.

Or the fact that up until the Reaper invasion, Anderson was stationed on the Citadel. Meaning he obviosly lived somewhere on it. And I'm assuming a high ranking military offical could afford a pretty desent place. And as you pointed out, he is stuck on Earth. So why not let Shepard and Co. use it, seeing as how neither one of them is likely to survive past the next few hours? Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we shall die.
