I was going to say make it the last thing you do before the endgame, but it kind of doesn't work to go from the part straight to the final Cerberus battle. Do it after Sanctuary so you can get everyone there, but leave something to do inbetween it and Cronos Station. Preferably the last leg of Leviathan, or if you haven't got it, an N7 mission.

It doesn't work if you act like it's an endgame, because that doesn't explain how the Reapers are still mentioned as being alive and how Anderson, Shepard and EDI are all shown alive.

The way I see it, Space is HUGE, so it has to takes time to gather Alliance Ships for the Assault on Cronos, and it takes time for the "Slippery Bastard" Kai Leng to get there. Even with the Mass Relay to get to that region of Space, you would still need FTL Travel to get to get to the System where Cronos is located. Time can be randomize. I could be days for all we know. It's up to the individual Player to use his/her thoughts on how much time it takes.

I feel--For Me And My Story--that the best time to Play this DLC is AFTER Sanctuary. The "Feeling" of saying "Goodbye" Fits Better during THIS Point In Time: Right Before Cronos And Right Before "The Great Battle Of Our Time."

So there! As you can see, I have made MY Decision!

In my opinion, the best time to play it is when you have saved/recruited all the people you care about, which for me is right before Horizon, as I do not give a damn about Miranda =)

Make it the last thing you do, period. Beat the entire game, ending and all, and then go to Anderson's apartment. You don't want to end with the ending, Citadel is designed to be the real last hurrah.

I like doing the DLC right after Rannoch. It makes sense since the Normandy has just seen combat, etc.

I think treating it as 2 dlcs is the best way to go.

Do the clone storyline asap. Then leave and treat the silversun strip and the apartment as a second 'home' during the game. It seems to me that there's no point having this second base and all that stuff going on there, if you can't make use of it properly.

If I was incorporating it with a new playthrough, then I think it would be best to do the mission soon after the coup, then all the squadmate interaction can be scattered through the rest of the game.

I think the sheer amount of "talking to squadmates" stuff that there is would kind of bring the game to a grinding halt if you do it all in one go. It's OK to binge on that stuff if you're treating it as effectively a stand-alone goodbye to the series, but I wouldn't want to do that if I'm incorporating it into a playthrough

When to hold the party is interesting. I think after Rannoch could be good if you don't mind missing Miranda - if you got peace then that's the "up" moment that might fit the lighthearted tone. If you're going to be seeing the party a few times, then don't be afraid of not inviting everyone, since that'll give you some different content to see. Treating it as a final goodbye before Cronos might work or you might find it jarring to the tone of the game. Leaving the party for after and treating it as a either a flashback or headcanoning it to a victory do might work for you too.

My auto-save befor the Cerberus HQ wouldnt make much sens for a reunion. They all be MIA or DEAD at that point.

Or does this DLC revive everyone for some good old last bit of fun?. Damn please say yes.

Given the plot, treat it as a dream Shepard is having while lying in the rubble waiting to die or a "Twilight Zone-ish"  final thought after control or synthesis.

I figure after Rannoch would make the most sense.

Because from Thessia on it just doesn't fit to me. You really need to be tracking Kai Leng to get back the information that he stole so you can finish the Crucible. Taking shore leave then really makes no sense.

My method would be to do the mission part ASAP, or after Rannoch if you happen to be a Talimancer. As for the party, I would save that until after I complete the game, and since I always pick High-EMS Destroy (MEHEM would make a lot more sense, but I play on Xbox 360), do it from the pre-Cronos save. I treat it as if it's in the aftermath of the Reaper war. I know that this method has a metric f*ckton of logical inconsistencies, but it works for me, and that's all I need. If you don't pick High-EMS Destroy (or MEHEM), I'm sure you can adjust your party timing accordingly.

I just read the FAQ and this thread.. but I dont get it..

Will my game progress affect the Storyline itself? Or just the meetings afterwards? If i remember correctly they will be unlocked as I progress in the game itself, right?

Would I miss parts of the DLC-Story itself, if I go for the DLC asap?

I've started a new game and soon ill recapture the Citadel..

Btw.. the new armor and weapons I'll get would be pretty useless when I require them just before the end..

Yes, after the main DLC plot is done, you have the hub unlocked and can go to it whenever you feel like and meet with people there as they send you emails. And of course throw a party.

No. In the story part of the DLC, old ME2 squadmates don't appear. You won't miss anything. The only thing you could miss is if you don't do "Priority: Perseus Veil" after the Coup, which takes about 5 minutes to pick up Tali and if you didn't recruit Javik yet.

My advice is do the story part of Citadel DLC right after the coup. This way, you will unlock the Sunset Strip with the apartement, meetings, party, mini-games & combat arena for the entire second part of the game.

So I can only miss parts of the DLC-Story if I dont have ALL ME3 squadmates?
I suppose it does matter who of my Squadmates will be with me?

Yes. But it's rather hard NOT to have full squad after the Coup, don't you think? ;P

Well like any mission where you can pick up squadmates. Nothing big/crucial though, like Javik on Thessia for example.

Well.. I didnt recruit Javik yet because he always makes some comments on the squad you bring to his rescue.. and I want to bring Tali this time^^

Thanks a lot for your answers ;)
And a huge thanks for doing so without spoiling the DLC.. I really was afraid of that ^^

I agree with some of the other posts, do it after beating the game (as a save file generates before the Cerberus base again), and consider it an epilogue wherein Shep lives, etc. You have to headcanon a few things, but "speculations" and all that stuff aren't much different.

My opinion on this is that it makes sense for Shepard to be ORDERED in for shore leave immediately following the defeat that is Thessia. I'd say it's up to you when you want to throw the party, but I think it makes more story sense to press on to Cerberus HQ after Sanctuary than to break for the party there (unless you are a Mirimancer).

Not trying to spoil you (just trying to save you some time), but the only change that comes when you bring Tali to Eden Prime is Javik mentions Quarian along with Human and Asari in his assessment of the situation.  I disappointed myself a while ago pursuing the same goal.

How do you unlock the emails from your squadmates if you wait until just before attacking the Cerberus HQ? I was under the impression that you were required to complete side missions to unlock these emails.

I'll still try it, since I hope for unique Tali dialogues during the mission :)

I am not sure about it, since I havent tried it yet.. but I guess you only need to unlock and finish (ofc^^)
character specific missions.. which you should have done right before the end

If you are worried about the Miranda Content, you need not bother with the party until after Horizon. The story part of the mission only has Wrex (if alive) and the ME 3 squad, so you can do that whenever..

My confusion mainly has to do with the emails and how you get them. I don't want to miss out on content the first time around just because I didn't know how the mechanic works.
