I thought Tali would be more popular here.
Throw in your chips mate. Why do you think Tali is the best LI over Miranda and Liara?

If you chose/choose Liara why?
1. Liara is my favorite character and the asari are my favorite race
2. She has the most complete romance arc and the best overall imo. Her romance had many good scenes (especially in LotSB and ME3), and it was nicely woven into the story.
3. I play FemShep and Jennifer Hale outright said that Liara is her favourite romance choice

Hmmm, good point.

Tali just seems more "normal" in comparison with the other two. Liara's lifespan is probably the main reason why I don't want to romance any Asari. It just seems sad that Shepard would die in a few decades then Liara would go on with her life. I don't care how much you love a person, their memory you have of them wouldn't be the same after a few centuries. I just find Miranda to be the arrogant, elitist overachiever, nothing against those who romance her though. Her attitude just doesn't click with me. Tali is the sweet, caring girl-next-door type that I like. Her devotion to Shepard was the main reason why she came back in ME3 (if you romanced her).AJ2324 wrote...

You are given no opportunity for chemistry to build. She simply blurts out her feelings for you in your second conversation with her and you can either check yes or no. From there you just talk about Doing the Deed, and everything from her locker scene dialogue to her cabin dialogue is weaker than Ashley's. She is very much a shy, virginal character in 1 and I did not find it stimulating. She gains more spice in ME2 and LotSB, but there is no opportunity to hop into the romance at that point and by ME3 you've missed most of her content.
Miranda's romance in contrast had numerous flaws, but it felt more adult to me (both acknowledging the necessary dangers the other had to face, for instance) and chemistry was actually given a chance to build before feelings were declared (renegade kiss scene, delish). I also found Miranda to be a generally more interesting character, even if all BioWare was interested in exploring were the various dips and curves of her posterior. I found the teasing nature of her and Shepard's relationship ("Still impatient, Commander?" "Still trying to maintain control, Miss Lawson?"), interspersed with moments of real meaning (ME2 hug scene, "I'll always want you in my life"), to be an appealing combo.

I romanced Liara in all three games.
I rather like Miranda, but her romance is somehow extremely shallow. But I usually play as femShep anyway.
It seems that way on the surface but I think it's one of the cuter romances imo.

Thinking about starting a trilogy playthrough this summer and romancing Miranda though.

If you chose/choose Miranda why?
She is one of 4 or so squadmates who don't immediately begin to grovel at Shepard's feet. The others being Wrex in ME1, Jack, and Javik. You have to earn her trust and respect.
I also like that she subverts the trope that she initially seems to submit to, that being a pseudo femme fatale.
Specifically in regards to romance, I'm fond of the way Shepard peels back her layers of frost and exposes her softer side. It also strikes me as the most "real". In ME2, they react to each other in a way that people on a suicide mission would. Both Miranda and Shepard initially question whether or not the romance might be worth it. The emotions are played fantastically.
In ME3, despite how lackluster Miranda's content is, the romance isn't ruined. I very much like the romance affirmation scene on the Citadel, as do I like the scene in the Citadel apartment.

Very well said, you might almost have me on the Miranda ship unless I hear a better argument...

I agree with all of this intellectual/artistic stuff... plus, I've been crushing on Yvonne Strahovski since S1 of Chuck, and frankly this is the closest I'm ever gonna get.

My canon file:
ME1: None (I modded the game, so I guess Kaidan even if it's not canon)
ME2: None (Kaidan)
ME3: Kaidan (Finally paid off)
There is no canon so anything goes. Besides it's nto really modding since it's in the game files
ME1 Kaidan manlove is legit.

Also this. Having Yvonne is a VERY nice bonus.
