Lol no offense to Chris, but I think its just EA at work here.

Yeah, because BioWare made everything for free before we were bought by EA right? And costs of development have remained stagnant since, oh, 2008?

As I said, some people will nto want this DLC or will not want to pay $15 for it. That is fine. YOU determine that value for YOU. If I say it is worth it and tha majority other people here (which is the minority, thanks for pointing that out) say it is worth it (or not) what matters is what matters to YOU.

I feel ya chris. But ME2 DLC, LOTSB, overlord, and arrival are all 10 bucks. Why the increase of 5 dollars. Plus 10 dollar day 1 DLC (from ashes) that's very singnificant to the plot. Furthermore, the dev time and expense is very misleading- Mass Effect in running on unreal engine 3, has been since the begining. There is no R&D needed for say a new engine. Now you take Dice and BF3, new engine- very expensive to make, I get that. But DLC for ME3 is very over priced by 33 percent compared to previous interations. Plus ME3, has made well over 200 million dollars and is on multiple systems. I think Bioware is doing fine, lol.

This is one final blowout for my Shep. I didn't get any of them for the 360, but since I've got the MEHEM on the PC, I might pop for all of them now.

I'll be buying this DLC before the week is out. My price value assessment will have to wait until after I've played through it.

Only if people don't buy it at $15. Bio's only job here is to pick the revenue-maximizing price.

. In the end, if you don't buy something because of the ending or some other reasons, it's just you who lose out.

On the other hand, it's people like you who are killing the games industry by sending the clear message that you are fine with being lied to and will keep buying their products no matter what.

You might also want to google "deterrent" because you are completely missing the point here.

So yeah, I won't buy any DLC or future Bioware products until such a time that Bioware has offered a full refund to every customer or Casey Hudson resigns. Games are bought unseen, and once opened cannot be returned, so trust is of prime importance - if there are no repercussions for lying because people like you lack the willpower then what incentive does Bioware have for telling the truth in the future?

Compare this to any other situation - e.g. would you keep buying at a store that lied about the size of their shoes*, refused to give you a refund or to exchange them for a pair that fit? If so I've got a bridge to sell

* Ignoring the fact that you can usually try them on - assume that you have to take the assistant's word for that box containing size X shoes

You are assuming that I'm unhappy with the ending or the overall game. I don't like the ending, but I'm ok with it. I don't hate it. Anyway, I don't just buy anything they put out, I skipped out on Omega because nothing about it caught my interest. If you simply skip out on a game on priciple, how do Bioware know if you skip out because of the DLC or because you are unhappy with some other aspects of the game? For boycott to work, you need a large organized group to make your voice heard. It is something that most gamers wouldn't be bother with. It's just a fruitless efffort to boycott by yourself. That's all I'm saying.

While we try to make the content good value for the price charged, if it is too expensive for you (you have other things to buy, you don't see the value in it, your rent is due, etc) then don't buy it. We think Citadel is good fun and worth the money. You will see around here tomorrow once it is out what the majority of people think.

If you are unsure if you want to spend that money on a DLC, wait and see what people think of it and then make up your mind. If you do not think it is worth it, spend your money on something you think you'll enjoy more. :)

Thanks, ill follow your advice :)

So ME2 DLC sale when?

Lol I ain't even mad :P

Apologies, I should've elaborated.
I simply felt like EA could've allowed this to be sold for 800.  But since they've big on cash like Ubisoft and Activillain, they feel they can charge more, and they know people will buy it.  Its business.

Most blatant example are the COD map packs.  Ever since MW2, Activision has been charging at least 1200 just for maps.  During MW2, 2 of the maps in each pack were REUSED from COD4!  Was that worth the price and development cost? In COD case, I'm 100% it wasn't.  They could've sold it for 800 or 400, but Bobby Kotick's company wanted the cash.

I didn't mean to make Chris upset with my post.  Or others' posts as well.  =]

That's what I was thinking...

Anyways - there is no point discussing if the price is adequate when no one's even played it yet.  I would imagine that an import who had their entire squad die in ME2 might not see a lot of value in this, but trust that the price and 4G size of the DLC indicates its length and quality.  Let's not spend the night before the last DLC drops fighting.

Nah, not for this.

Omega was overpriced for what it was - that's for sure.

But Citadel ... nah. $15 for something that I know I'll get my money's worth from.

1,200 probably is too much. I don't feel so bad about it for Citadel, but it was clearly not a reasonable price for the last DLC (and it exposes Chris' complete lack of credibility here, since he said the same thing about Omega as he's now trying to say about this one).

DLC in general seems to be overpriced, and I only see the prices increasing in the future. If this is the point where you need to start being more selective, then you should definitely wait for reviews and player feedback before making the decision on whether Citadel is going to be worth it for you.

Either DLC is overpriced or base games are underpriced. Considering what people charge for a new movie, I might say it's the latter.

All this talk of prices going up makes me glad I'm not a hardcore gamer. The only games I play are games from a series I've been a fan of for a long time like Sly Cooper and Kingdom Hearts, or when they become free on PS+. I only got into Mass Effect because ME2 the single greatest PS3 game I've played, was 10$ used for all the DLC except for Arrival. Talk about a bargon.

But people who spend hundreds of dollars a year on new games and DLC. How do people do it? I ask the same question to my uncle who spend 80$ on a small tub of cigarettes that barely lasts him the week. And people wonder why they are broke...

Won't know if I felt was worth it until after I played it.

I am sure it will be worth it to me from cost vs entertainment factor based on what heard so far.

I do plan on buying it and I fully expect to enjoy it.
