What's a "reasonable price?"

Yes, there is no objective measurement for "worth" in this context.

Which is why I can call it "unreasonable" and still ignore your tiresome questions.

I said GOOD DAY SIR.

You can buy ME3 brand new for $20. Bioware is asking $15 for a single DLC. Even if one calculates the original price of ME3 at $60, this DLC is still 25% of the original game price and delivers much less than 25% of the game's content. By current prices, the DLC is 75% of the game's price and does not even come CLOSE to 75% of the game's content. If this math is acceptable to you, than it is apparently 'worth it'. If not, than no.

(Personally speaking? Wayyyy too many latinum bars for something that fails to make me want to reinstall the game.)

As I said earlier only the content can determine if its worth the price

Lol not in the perspective of consumers.. Inflating the price just because they can get away with it is probably what they're doing though. =]

No matter what the product is, from the perspective of the consumer the less they have to spend the better. Both parties would like to GET more of what they want and GIVE UP less resources to do it.

What you're saying does not undermine the fact that if they make money on the product, it is priced "correctly". In fact, that's not even true, at the price where they make the MOST money is where the product is priced "correctly".

- If they price it too low, customers will buy more copies, but the company will not make the optimal return on their investment and will give them a poor indicator of the worth of that investment.

- If they price too high, customers will not buy as many copies, and the company will not make the optimal return on their investment, also giving them a poor indicator of that investment's worth.

Companies live on those margins, so it is always best for them and their consumers if they hit those marks or close to them. It is obvious that underpricing hurts the company, but it is less obvious - and equally true - that inflating the price hurts the company too. The only time that is untrue is in the case of a government granted monopoly.

While we try to make the content good value for the price charged, if it is too expensive for you (you have other things to buy, you don't see the value in it, your rent is due, etc) then don't buy it. We think Citadel is good fun and worth the money. You will see around here tomorrow once it is out what the majority of people think.

But I thought Bioware didn't give two ****s about what BSN thinks cause we're all entitled egotistical pricks? Or, you know ... something like that.

Value is hard to quantify. It really depends on how much you like the material and how much disposable income you have. $15 bucks is peanuts for some, but a day's worth of food for others.

Buy 960 points, then. (Profile > Add BioWare Points, and buy 560 + 400 points.)

Hey Chris, has Bioware/EA ever considered discussing the breakdown towards how this content is developed and the costs involved in doing so?

As amazing and unbelievable as it may sound I am already well aware that as a consumer I have the ability to choose whether or not to purchase a certain product (shocking, I know).

Lol no offense to Chris, but I think its just EA at work here.

Yeah, because BioWare made everything for free before we were bought by EA right? And costs of development have remained stagnant since, oh, 2008?

FINALLY THE TRUTH IS REVEALED!!!! =]

if you are not sure, just wait for the reviews and fan opinions, then decide if it's worth to buy ;-)

The new Citadel DLC costs 1200 MP, or 15 bucks.

Is this a fair price, or is it to much?

If the size is any indication, it is more than fair.

I didn't particularly think that Omega was worth 1200MSP, however, based on what we've heard/been told, and yesterday's trailer, I have no problem with handing over 1200MSP for the Citadel DLC.

Of course this is without any of us actually playing it yet, so trying to determine the value is impossible.

I would say fair price! It is bigger then the other DLC's.

I'm having a hard time understanding why $15 seems unreasonable for hours of entertainment. A two hour movie at the movie theater costs $9 nowadays. Add a soda and a bag of popcorn and you are over $15. I'm expecting the DLC will be entertaining and well worth the price.

The Omega one was a total waste of money. Stupidly expensive for what was alleged to be the biggest DLC yet, but was probably one of the worst - no squad, utterly pointless story that made no sense in the context of the game.

This one is expensive too, and while my instant reaction is to shy away from it given the cost, it does look a lot more interesting since it gets old characters together and is (hopefully) more story and not just another Cerberus shooting gallery.

I might get it.

For Xbox players, Microsoft has a way to earn free Points through a rewards program. I haven't paid a real dime for any of the ME3 DLC I have, and Bioware is still getting their cut. Bing! it.

Citadel's description read like a list of BSN requests, but there's always something, I guess. $3 more than LotSB is hardly a deterrent... I'll skip my next two cups of coffee. Boom. Same price as SB and Leviathan.
