I just lol-ed at the price , the whole game , Mass Effect 3 cost 18-20$ Brand New and Sealed.
And this DLC 15$ ? I don't think so LOL .
EA must be nuts.

I am concerned and quite honestly very worried about this dlc , mainly because we don't have enough information about it. Since the last big DLC Omega , where everyone got pretty much less than they expected (and that is putting it mildly can you blame me?

I am a customer and i have the right to argue the quality and the content of what i am expected to pay for , so , ->
This is not a post complaining about the price. This is a post that asks a simple question and that is , why is this dlc worth 15$ ? Because Omega sure wasn't , and all the reviews stand as proof to that.
By the way , i own everything on the market related Mass Effect universe , from all the games and all their dlc on all possible platforms including Android , also books , audio books , magazines , soundtracks , figurines , posters , clothing , most of them limited edition. I am a huge collector and very few people have spent 2000+ hours playing the trilogy as i have. So spare me the brainless comment "hey if you can't afford it don't buy it , if it costs too much for you" because that's evidently not the case. Arguing the quality or a product is no way in hell the same as saying it costs too much for you. I shouldn't even be telling you this but since you completely missed the point , here , i actually went and explained it to you.

Given the content most people seem ok with the price, as opposed to Omega.

Yeah but the problem is we don't really know what the content is?
what if the whole DLC is 4 hours long and out of that you get 90 minutes of conversations , transitions and movies playback?

It's not like they said anything about the length or what exactly we will be getting.
They didn't say "hey u will get all the characters from me1 and me2 and team up with them as in get them as squad mates in missions" or "you get to romance anyone any time and cheat on your romance twice a day" either , or "you get to train virtually and work on those abs and those cheeks" or "make prank calls to your team and play the comedian for a while"

I am not sure i want to do that any more , some people gave big time spoilers in the "No Spoilers" section , about the game play , story and the ending of Omega which put me right off buying it. I never bought it because i knew everything that was ever going on in Omega dlc from one single sentence those no brainer posted on forum that ruined my whole day. Was so excited about it but ended up not buying that dlc.

It is a 4GB download compared to the <2GB downloads of previous DLC, it's safe to say it's going to have more content than previous DLC.

What are you talking about dear? Previous DLC was Reckoning and it was 198 Megabytes.
Also , since you want to go there , yes , if 50 hours of voice acting cost 18-20$ , then why would 4-6 hours cost 15$?

I spent thousands of dollars on games and dlc's so far. You should see my Steam account worth 2300$ or better yet my PSN account. Or my physical collection of games. Cheap ass you say? Again , I call it my right as a customer to argue the quality and content of what im expected to pay for.

thank you for speaking what i was thinking :

Stop being so condescending priestly. this guy has every right to be concerned. BioWare didn't address the ending, which a majority of the fans hated and felt betrayed (myself)
Maybe this dlc will be good, but the track record of the way things have been going is a sign of the quality we can expect
To me it's not worth it when all roads lead to the atrocious endings Casey Hudson created

P.S

Nobody gives a damn the dlc is 4GB , you want to know why? Because there's alot of "crap" that can reside in 4GB.
Not saying there is "crap" in Mass Effect related content but there is potential for filling large amounts of data with not so good content. Here's an example, Divine Divinity , is a game that is much worse than diablo 1 and it has 4 gb so don't give me this "omg is 4 gb" ok? Even Rayman games are 4 gb and they are platformers for kids that you can complete in 2 hrs. Size of the data is completely irrelevant , especially here simply for the fact that from all that 4 GB , 3 of them is audio data recorded for characters. I can give you a ton of examples of how much nonsense you can fit in 4GB worth of data and most of them cost one or two bucks , because when you sell 1 million products worth 1$ you still end up with the amazing 1 million dollars. Price is never a barrier no matter how low because you will not sell 10 products , most likely hundreds of thousands or more.

How else do you think they make up for their missed sales targets from last year?

Usually (for 99% of the DLC out there) general cost of the game (near a year later mind you) has no bearing on additional content for the game itself. The additional DLC is just that.... "additional".

Also as others have said I paid $70 for my copy of the game brand new on release, the bearing of the price now has no effect on me whatsoever nor on the DLC i've downloaded and played since.

If the DLC price is too much for you, the solution is easy, dont buy it.

Much in the same way you you do not have to buy DLC for ANY game really, but to argue the price of the DLC for being (new) content and the price of the year old copy of the game is just a bit silly at this point.  They'll price the DLC at the price they think the market will eat it up.

Does seem quite steep - but the proof will be in the pudding. Replay ability, quality, etc etc.

due to the number of characters involved - it could have quite a lot of replay ability and dialogue - which might put it closer to an expansion.

In which case $15 would be quite reasonable.

If its a straight up once off story or whatever - then maybe not so much.

Despite the corniness and 80's action flick hammy lines feel of the trailer - it looks like it might be a worthwhile pick up for $15 - but reviews will tell.

Welcome to the world of games where the laws don't quite work like the real world.

I'd recommend waiting for reviews and user comments before deciding to purchase Citadel.

Should OP go by the 75 perfect reviews for ME3 or the overwhelming negativity on the forums?

So what, you expected them to put all the work in on it, pay all the voice actor cast to come back for it and charge a fee based on the reduced price you paid for the base game?

ME3 is 30-40ish hours of content plus multiplayer, so the DLC would have to be about 10h of content.

Stop being such a cheap ass. $15 is nothing to me and will gladly give it to bioware

That's not the point - the complaint is that Bioware is charging much more per hour of entertainment from DLC compared to the base game. You being made of money doesn't change that

I get your argument, but I disagree.  I go to games for an entertaining experience, not for a set number of hours of "content". Portal 2 was a pretty short game compared to many games that were the same price, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Quality > quantity.

its overpriced, bioware really need to improve there marketing procedures.

People may part with there money on this one, but they might not be happy about it (the feeling of being swindled is not a good one)
that is disastrous for a company

Wtf? How did you get your game so cheap. Here in Australia, when ME3 first came out, CE was $130.00 AUD (which was what I got) and normal edition was what, I think $99.00. So from my end this DLC is pretty cheap.

I got all three games and 55% of all released DLC (for all 3 games) for $30 via PC download.

I am missing DLC I would really like to play for ME2 and ME3, but (including Citadel now) I'm not paying $95 for DLC alone. Short of BioWare points going on sale it looks like I'll have to pick wisely in my $15-20 DLC limit.

Also, guys. Remember EA has their hand in this. They only want the $$$. I stopped playing BF3 to play this series and it almost looks like it's going the same way.

Well to be fair they've been pricing all their DLC about the same price so what's your point? If you think this is too much for you then don't buy it~

...and for those of you who got the game at a discount, wait another year and maybe this will go on sale too. Dear god, $15 most of you have made mistakes and spent that much going to a bad movie that only lasted 2 hours...and I bet you weren't writing forum posts whining about the film and the crappy value you got.

Previous SP DLC was Omega and was 2 GBs. This DLC is almost 4 GBs.

Also you can't compare the price of the game to DLC. Should they put months of work into something and only charge $5 based on the game's price? Absolutely not.

Haha, yea. Maybe this DLC and/or others will go on sale. I've seen BioWare points go on sale only once on Origin. The whole point is that DLC/add-ons/extras should not cost this much in the first place. More reasons to boycott EA products, woo!

A game with a short campaign and crappy multiplayer costs $60 new. Fallout 3 (hundreds of hours of single player) costs $60 new. Battlefield 3 (hundreds of hours of multiplayer) costs $60 new. You're honestly willing to spend $15 on 2 hours of gameplay when you sink over 100 in the base game for $60? Where is the logic?

Also, where in the hell do you go to spend $15 on a movie of any quality? O_o
