I really must thank you for replying in this fashion, Mr Priestly. After uninstalling ME3 from my PC months ago and vowing to never touch it again, I did a 180 for the Robin Sachs tribute and felt like a traitor and weakling for enjoying myself a lot more than I thought I would. I even whipped out my wallet after seeing the Citadel DLC trailer, only to put it away again when I saw your eloquent and professional reply.

To clarify, I won't be buying this DLC not because of the price or my great dislike of the last 30 minutes of the game, but because of what you wrote in this thread. OP had a valid, if a inarticulate, complaint and instead of taking the opportunity to plug the DLC you chose the troll option.

Thanks for reminding me why the money I would spend on BioWare are better spent elsewhere.

So you're telling a customer who buys everything your company ever makes , to shunt off , if he doesn't like how kept in the dark he is by the Citadel DLC launch details while in the same time being expected to cut in 15$ for it?
Interesting.
I would have expected this kind of reply from some trolls but not from an official.
I was under the impression the "general discussion" forum is here exactly for discussing these kind of subjects.
You must be rich if you spend 15$ on a lunch , i mean , i seem to spend a lot of money myself but DAMN , 15$ for a lunch? 2 very big and nice and very delicious Sandwiches and a Coffee cost me 2GBP which is roughly 3$. Or if im feeling naughty that particular day i buy a subway lunch and a large diet Coke which is about 3GBP (4.54$) but DAMN !! 15$? Must be some hell of a lunch.
Wonder where you were when i pre-ordered ME3 collectors for my PS3 and i couldn't get the multiplayer to work for over 30 hours. Or where you were when Origin patches failed drastically on every PC and the forum was full of people who couldn't connect to BSN. Could have had a few laughs then instead of feeling sorry i preordered.
wink wink'

P.S -> you can add "lols" inbetween every 2-3 words just to make it ingenious from my part.

What did you expect? That he would beg you to buy it? Like he said, you don't like, then don't buy. Simple as LOL.

Wow, well done. You've saved me the effort of having to look up reviews. Decision has been made: not buying.

not sure if true but on the forum people are saying it costs 800 BW points. Would that make you guys feel better? If you aren't sure whether to buy it or not just wait till someone who did buy it gives you some feedback, maybe they did a really good job and it's worth the money. You always have the choice to wait and see if it's something you want

Yami, it was 800 points, and to be honest, it's still showing 800 points....when I hit Purchase. It shows 1200 on the list, but when it brings up the purchase screen, it says 800 points. UNFORTUNATELY, every time I hit confirm, it says error invalid url blah blah, so they probably fixed the 800 point thing and its messing up on me. And to be honest, this is probably on Origin's fault considering it's literally telling me 800 points when I try and buy it. Doesn't help that we're still running on a mindless points system instead of just charging directly for the DLC.

It amazes me how many people are seemingly acting insulted over Chris' joke post... are you guys really taking it THAT seriously?

Have you seen how bad some of these forums get at times and NOW is the time you pick to take issue with a post that was obviously a joke?

BSN never ceases to amaze me....maybe thats why i always stick around. :)

Yeeeeeeeeeeah. And I am amazed that they get so upset over a tongue in cheek reply, given the loads of vitriol, hatred and arrogance they feel they are entitled to spewing because they are "paying customers". It's a reason to go "Now I'm not gonna buy it, Bioware. See, I'm not having fun like I could, are you upset yet?" . I do not base DLC purchases on how devs treat me on a board. I base them on the content offered.

I do not agree with Chris' response. But why do people expect a paragon answer from the guy who calls himself @BioEvilChris? So, as his name suggests, he will always choose renegade option.

I hope the DLC is made more professionally.

YES BECAUSE THE LOL CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT LOL.

He called EA ''nuts'', his fellow forumites ''brainless'' doesn't give a ''damn'' about anyone's opinion and is here to LOL at everything. Such a fine, wellspoken gentleman.

Please.
If somebody came into my store just to laugh at my prices or insult my other customers, he'd get a kick in the ass. Wouldn't matter if he bought something here previously. I'm not about to kiss someone's ass just because he may or may not buy something from me. There are millions more customers to serve, if you can't behave like an adult, get lost.

Anyone who now posts saying they won't buy it because of the way Chris replied: get real. You are not a King, and this isn't medival Europe. Grow a spine. If you were really planning to buy this DLC, you wouldn't be influenced by some mild teasing on a forum.

Every single person I know who has bought it, says was worth the price. I just bought it and will find out for myself soon. But I doubt very much my opinion will differ from theirs in that I also think probably will feel was worth it too.

People need to realize that file size, playing time, and production cost are not relevant. It's all about marketing and projected sales volume. If they can charge $15 for a DLC without sacrificing much in sales volume (if they lost any at all) then they are going to do it. Same principal for why a game cost $20 now when it had cost $60 a year ago. Anybody who was willing to $60 for the game has already gotten it by now. If they left the game at $60, sales would be at a near stop, so they lowered the price to get the sales from those who weren't willing to pay $60. And now, they lowered the price again to capture the more patient, perhaps less enthralled, bargain gamers. Price has little to do with content or the cost to make that content, it is about maximizing profits.

Usually (for 99% of the DLC out there) general cost of the game (near a year later mind you) has no bearing on additional content for the game itself. The additional DLC is just that.... "additional".

Also as others have said I paid $70 for my copy of the game brand new on release, the bearing of the price now has no effect on me whatsoever nor on the DLC i've downloaded and played since.

If the DLC price is too much for you, the solution is easy, dont buy it.

Much in the same way you you do not have to buy DLC for ANY game really, but to argue the price of the DLC for being (new) content and the price of the year old copy of the game is just a bit silly at this point.  They'll price the DLC at the price they think the market will eat it up.

This.  Price of DLC has NOTHING to do with content or quality of content.  Never has.  And likely never will.

I am sure it ain't worth it, don't get me wrong I agree, four new enemies, you get Wrex for only a little while, some alliance girl with info on some Cerberus dude, it sounds bad. I mean Tali and Shep preform a duet..................... But imagine if they don't make the probably thousands of dollars they spent on this they are basically going to take a hug hit. So, just don't buy it, I am not either so join the club. Case Closed.

Sorry I am not vindictive or spiteful enough to do such.

If looks entertaining and like I might enjoy it then I'll buy it (which is what I have done).

Someone really screwed up at EA/Origin. because shortly after Citadel was released on it, it was available to buy for 800BW that is 10$ But its upped to 1200now.

What will they do about it? If they act like nothing is happened its unfair to those who get it for 15$, but they can't ask those who got it for 10$ to pay an additional 5$ for nothing. So their only honest option is to lower the price to 10$ and refund everyone who paid 15$for it.

+ 1

My four year old doesn't whine as much.  People act as if the option to buy a DLC is a "need" instead of a "want".

I especially love the logic someone used about cost / value vs. length.  Especially when  the length is different for everyone.  $15 is three beers at the bar, folks.  Suck it up and stop crying in your Wheaties.

Let's look at it this way, from a feature set point of view.  This DLC:

- Works for both male and female Shepard, and any Shepard faces and skins allowed in Mass Effect 3
- Works for all playable classes, abilities, weapons, and squad makeups
- Is playable at whatever XP levels and places in the ME3 storyline it is allowed
- May or may not slightly factor into other scenes and scenarios in the main game

Given the vertical slice of development involved in making this (writing, VO, design, playtesting, integration, etc.), it's probably more expensive to do this little piece relative to completing a full game after much of the design, writing, art and sound direction has been completed up front.

I'm actually worried that I got it for 800 BWP and now its not going to work. I have to head out, but it looks like I'll be resolving the unintended sale price with live chat.
