With so much contents crammed into one DLC which allowed ME2 people to fight alongside Shep, storyline, additional gaming hours, romance, new weapons, new arena (bring over MP experience to SP). They touched upon every aspects of the game. I don't know what more people want. It's a lot cheaper to going to see a movie.

Well, I'm due to get it downloaded in about 6 hours, I'll find out then. I'm fully expecting, and prepared to pay the remainder.

You shouldn't though. It was their mistake :D

And as for Chris, that may have been unprofessional, but he's right. I'm also not content with the pricing for Omega for example, but this one seems to deserve it.
And for companies to lower DLC prices gamers should all hold together and vote with their wallet. Which won't happen.

I didn't say who he was did I?;)

My four year old doesn't whine as much.  People act as if the option to buy a DLC is a "need" instead of a "want".

I especially love the logic someone used about cost / value vs. length.  Especially when  the length is different for everyone.  $15 is three beers at the bar, folks.  Suck it up and stop crying in your Wheaties.

How about this DLC is an equivalent of about 10 beers in my country? Still think the same?.
Oh, I know, make some remarks about the country I live in....

I agree, the DLC is optional, I am not entitled to have it for less money, but from some time some BW staff have been condescending towards fans... usually in a "pff, I dont care if you dont like it, you dont have to buy it, now ****** off..." kind of way. Guess what, they SHOULD care why previously devoted fans are not buying their DLCs.

I think its kind of a WRONG way to run a buisiness.

Yes...still feel the same.

One person's "condescending" is another's honest answer.

How else do you think they make up for their missed sales targets from last year?

This was probably a big part of the pricing strategy.  You can't upsell with DLC's if people don't buy the game, and given the firestorm from the ending controversey, the potential for future DLC sales to make up for the lost revenue was probably a HUGE factor when it came to pulling the trigger.

In other words we sell it for $20 now and then possibly get another $15, $25, or even $40 in DLC sales from each potential customer.  On top of that EA needs big sales numbers to sell to it's investors in the future.  Being able to say Mass Effect 3 sold "X" million units last year is an important selling point.

Ironically I think that EA's microtransaction business model would work better if they weren't publicly traded.  Mainly because gamers get wind of sound bites from investor meetings that pretty much marginalizes their customer that in turn breeds resentment and unecessary resistance among the customer base ("we're not gouging we're charging.").

On top of that publicly traded companies are notorious for doing things that don't have any root in sound fundamental business practices.  The most typical being laying off high paying employees and selling off assets to make profits look better in the short term only to hurt their long term prospects.  In EA's case, releasing Mass Effect 3 before it was ready to boost their first quarter numbers.

With your extreme overuse of "LOL" to ridicule a forum member, it's good to see that BioWare staff members can remain professional.

$1.50 for a beer, in a bar? The only remark I'll make is that I'm considering moving there.

The DLC is best one yet, filled with great humor and lots to do. I loved it and well worth price. The dialogue was epic, expressions spot on. It actually makes me sad no more SP DLC now that after doing one so great wont be anymore like it.

I really must thank you for replying in this fashion, Mr Priestly. After uninstalling ME3 from my PC months ago and vowing to never touch it again, I did a 180 for the Robin Sachs tribute and felt like a traitor and weakling for enjoying myself a lot more than I thought I would. I even whipped out my wallet after seeing the Citadel DLC trailer, only to put it away again when I saw your eloquent and professional reply.

To clarify, I won't be buying this DLC not because of the price or my great dislike of the last 30 minutes of the game, but because of what you wrote in this thread. OP had a valid, if a inarticulate, complaint and instead of taking the opportunity to plug the DLC you chose the troll option.

Thanks for reminding me why the money I would spend on BioWare are better spent elsewhere.

I had been on the 'not buy' side of the fence, since I was looking for a last hurrah swan song DLC that was going to impact the story line/ending (and not just fanservice). But I was ready to hop over to the 'buy' side after watching some YouTube vids with the character interactions....thought it was something I wouldn't want to miss, even if the 'tone' doesn't match the rest of ME3.

But then I cam on here to BSN to see what the fanbase had to say about it (good and bad)....

Preistly's rather immature (LOL...really?) response to OP made me take my hands off the fence and walk away from it. Along with all the fanboys supporting such a response. (Syncophants are good for giving you easy money, and easy ego boosts, but not for developing a quality product long term)

FYI - $15 for me is less than half an hour of pay. So I can afford it (and I'm not complaining about the price at all), but I'm not a blind money-throwing stooge after being burned. It's something called 'being an informed consumer'. I don't buy products just based on if I like the product, but also if I like the business practices of the company, and that also takes into account any customer interactions in social media.

I'll still be supporting the Dragon Age franchise. But continued company responses like Mr Priestly's may make me even drop that.

Worth every penny. Best DLC they've released in a long time - better perhaps even than LotSB, in that there's a huge character pay off for everyone at the end, not just Liara fans.

All this butthurt D:

I find it funny people even question the price of a product they know next to nothing about. It's better suited to be discussed after the fact, instead of assuming this and that in advance.

Of course it's out now, and most people seem to think the price is very much justified, myself included.

I bought it last night. I said "I'm going to wait." I found a card with MS points on it. I said, "Screw it. I'm getting it." I played a couple of hours.

I used my "Resume" after the High EMS Destroy ending from July. I haven't played this game since July in SP. Damn, seeing my renegade Shep alive after she blew up the reapers brought a smile to my face. I guess they found her in that pile of rubble, and she did recover.

Yes, I'm playing this as post-ending, folks. So this is my head-canon. Don't rain on my parade. LA LA LA LA LA LA. It's the only open quest in the journal.

The DLC is pure pulp. It's cheese. It's set in a sci-fi universe. Goddess I've missed seeing my Shepard. And Liara. Even Vega. Damn. And there were guns, grenades, and I got to blow up stuff. It was like a damned Arnold movie. I love that stuff. I got to play my bad ass Shepard.

So if you pick Destroy. Don't even go into the apartment until after the ending. Just use this DLC as the series finale. It's worth it. $15. No big deal. 4 GB.

I saw cheaper to go to a movie -- where? You buy popcorn, soda, candy. you're already $20 over that.

... I admit, I'm still loving the paragraph long dissertations on people being upset and no longer considering buying the DLC (which, in my opinion outclassed LOTSB and was VERY well done.) due to Chris' joke LOL post.

A year of complaining and THIS is what sent them over the edge....wow :)

Somehow i have a feeling that people who took offense to Chris' comment.... WANTED to take offense to it to validate their opinion of not wanting something which is kinda...sad. Either you want the DLC (like I did) or you dont (Like others do). There's no in between really. You either like the game enough to want MORE of it (be it character interaction, added gameplay or what not) or you dont. Simple.

We are not talking about a NEED here.

Depending on the theater and the movie, ONE ticket can cost you near twenty dollars in my area.... granted it usually takes 3D plus DBOX or whatever other crud their pushing, but a Ticket itself is usually 11-12 bucks.... Thats why i go to matinee baby! ($6)

Chris represents bioware on these forums. Regardless of any troll customers etc company reps are meant to uphold the values of the company through any interactions they may have.

If I spoke that way to my clients I'd be looking for another job.

Havn't gotten the Citadel DLC yet (but will this weekend). From what I heard about it, it's definetly worth the $15. I agree that Omega DLC is not worth that price (It would've been nice for $10). I hope future DLC for games will contain more content to make it worth $15 - $20.

ME3 has costed me $129. That will include all DLC (weapon DLC packs and costumes included, as well as Collector's Edition). And thank god I never spent a dime on the MP packs.. I heard some went overboard and spent >$200 on them. All in all, worth it Image IPB

Wish i would think just about the same as you do , but i can't . Because i am constantly reminded by Bioware about the fact that Mass Effect is Over , is done , caput , there was tons of dlc for ME2 , only very little content was made for ME3.
And now i can't even look forward to Mass Effect 4 , because there won't be any Mass Effect 4 , because all the officials said so. In fact they said it won't even be called Mass Effect anymore and will have very little to do with the current Mass Effect Trilogy and partial Universe. Guess they just want to be done with Mass Effect and i don't understand why either , if it's not broken , why fix it? Just the same as J. K. Rowling did for Harry Potter , she wanted to be done with it to start working on other books , and none of them come as high as HP does , not even close. There's a famous line from a very famous actor called Johnny Depp that says "I'll just keep going as long as they'll let me keep going , As long as the stories are good , as long as these people want to see it , I'm great.."
Would be great to know they'll make a ME4 and 5 or a TV series or a Movie , really it would but when im reminded so often that it's the end and that's it , then it makes me detach myself emotionally even from the actual thing in question which i really , really like and would love to be looking forwards to more of it (Mass Effect in this case).
I don't know what's with all the game makers and the film makers as well as the music makers this past few years , they make everything look so dark , most of the stuff has 150% more drama and in most of the cases , the good guy or everyone the good guy dies and there's an end to everything. Why can't they just take a hint from Lucas Arts , look at Star Wars , it will never die and it's more successfull then ever , so successfull that they even afford to remake all their films in 3D and continue to make new ones. My points still remains the same , if it's not broken why fix it (or end it in this case).

Tons? Very little? Only if all those junky ME2 weapon and appearance packs count. Actual story stuff? I count 4 for ME2 and 4 for ME3. 5 if you want to count Firewalker.

The DLC is worth the money.

Payed for it, played it, enjoyed it, very glad I got it.
