I'm assuming that backstabs are generated form the main hand only, and not the off hand yes? And if so, is there really a need a play a two handed dueling rogue? I finished my main playthrough as a dueling rogue, but the more I think about it, a one handed/stealth/trpa rogue might put out just as much dps. It would also require micromanagement but fun laying down traps etc.

Ideas?

Well, if you've played the game through, you'll see an epic fail on the part of a one hand wielding rogue at the very last battle. If he had two blades, instead of one, he would not have fallen.

One blade bad, two blades good.

I had an archer/one handed/shield rogue who was pretty kick ass. Of course, I hooked her up with the evasion tree, the first 3 of the feign death tree, and the first 2 of the assassin tree.

You do backstab with both weapons, the animation just shows that you use only the mainhand.

Besides, with two decent daggers your chance of critical backstab goes way up. And Bhatair is right, you backstab with both despite the animation.

That answers my question. if you backstab with both, its a moot point. Hey EJ!

Should be noted that while backstabbing only enchantments on your main hand weapon will fire off even though you back stab with both weapons. Not sure if it's a bug or intended but it's how it works.

That's why I put spell resistance in my offhand *evil grin*

Hmmm... is dual-wield mastery any good? I have it specced, and am holding the Topsider's Honour in my offhand, with The Rose's Thorn (16 damage with enchantments, 21 versus darkspawn) in my main, and I eat my way through crowds of Darkspawn.

Still, I haven't tried out a build without it so far (xbox, no random tweaking...), so I'd like to know if it's a good move for a dual-wielder or whether the points can be spent elsewhere.
