As far as textures go, you must live in some beautiful world where every game looks and plays like Crysis. Sorry, most PC gamers simply can't afford 2,000 dollar rigs which would eat Crysis up and spit it out. Sorry again that you think the textures look like mud, but I think they look fine. In fact, I think the graphics in this game look good. Better than Oblivion and FO3 in my opinion. Especially in the animations department....
All in all, I don't know what game you are playing and furthermore, I don't know what games you actually ENJOY playing with those high standards of yours.

I like the games that Bioware make, but QA has been getting worse. It has never been great, but since NWN2 I have found a steady decline....
Odd, since Neverwinter Nights 2 was developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Let me make it extra simple then. Mass Effect QA I found to be poor. Dragon Age Origin QA is even worse in my experience.

Whilst a very good, thoughtful and well put together post, as you have asked for views, my view is that your wrong on many points.
I don't macro anything, have no issues with looking around and or walking. If YOUfind the controls difficult, thats your problem, many more people have no issue with the controls (pc anyway). The textures while dumb downed, are better on the PC than they are on the console, and its hardly a big deal is it having to spend 3 minutes downloading a new texture pack.
name ONE game that the modding community has no brought out better textures than in the default game?
as for using the xbox, DA looks horrid on the xbox, its limited and stuck with defining hardware that can't be changed. Its also crap because it was ported at EA's request (why the release delay)...it was and should have stayed a PC release only.
Second, the textures were not reduced 'because' of the memory leak, its a seperate issue, if you have used over 500 hi-res textures (as i do) then you will see the perfomance dip. This is why they were not all hi-res, as it would increase system specs.
Why do they have to use an existing engine. kudos for developing a new engine, unfortunate that with new things coms the odd slip or error. Your telling me if you had the money to buy a new car, and something wasnt quite perfect, you would moan becuase they developed somehting new rather than using an older tech? Hmmm ok.
Cancelling your pc gamer subscription...ohh wow...like anyone cares?
As for staisfactory quality, thats your opinion and your opinion only. To me (and many thousand others) the game is great quality, great value and has huge replayability.
Might be wise to perhaps state opinion as such, and not fact.
But again, other than that, well written post.
But, you did the same thing he did while admonishing his points. His points are valid and very real, I would say you make great points as well. Considering other Bioware games, this graphically isn't up to specs to be honest. Now, having said that, I have had absolutely none of the issues he has, except with the toolset that would gobble up memory, until I fixed it. The gameplay is decent and the characters are well thought out. The story isn't very deep (Mass Effect blows it away). The graphics are not very good, but the game plays so well as the story does grow that it has become one of my favorites. It certainly doesn't deserve the high scores it got because all facets of the game are included when measuring. If you include sub-par graphics, then I would give it an 8.0+, but it is still a really good game.
Compared to most typical RPG games, this one is somewhat linear, with sandbox style areas that are only in the towns and cities. But that doesn't hurt the appeal to me at all, because the questline works well under this format.

I have been encountering numerous game breaking bugs, as well as quest breaking bugs, which are admittedly smaller, but still obnoxious. I paid $50 for this game, I should have access to all the quests that came with the game.
I broke the game in Orzammar and had to back up a few hours (6-7 at least) just to get back to when it wasn't broken, because the game allowed me to do something that should never have been allowed to be done.
I got trapped inside the Alienage orphanage at one point. After beating a demon in there, the cut scene for defeating it wouldn't play and all the doors in the room remained locked. I had to do it twice more before the cut scene would play and let me out of the room.
I broke Denerim at one point and still have no idea how I did it or what I did to fix it. Just entering The Pearl would cause the game to crash completely. It eventually was fixed when I backed up to a 2 hour previous save.
I can't complete the Crow quests, because the door to the first mission is broken. Nothing will fix it. An it's broken across all saved games that I have, not just one.
I couldn't complete the Back Alley Justice quest because I apparently did it out of order. Of course, no where does this game suggest you have an order, especially not for a side quest.
As a female human noble, I had to break up with Leliana a total of 6 times when I wasn't even in a relationship with her from the start - how on earth did no tester find this? Did they not bother to play the human female at all?!
I've broken other relationships throughout gameplay as well, because of doing things I wasn't aware I shouldn't be doing - dialogue and sleeping with people wise.
I know a few beta breakers that would have been paid a great deal just to FIND these bugs. And yet somehow this game was released with all of them - and then some since I can't remember them all. I'd like my money back, but sadly, WalMart will only give me another disc to replace this one - like that's the problem.

Wow, What the hell did you do? All those errors/bugs you describe here I haven't seen or had myself. How did you broke the game in Orzrammar? What did you do? And how did you broke Denerim? I should try it and see if I can get the same results. I never had any crashes whatsoever either when going to the pearl. In fact, my game only crashed when I turned on SLI.
I've been a female human noble and had an affair with leliane, zevran and alistair until i had to decide who to choose and choose Allistair, and only had to break up once with Zevran and Leliane..... So what the **** did you do to have to break up with her 6 times??? I am truly curious because I didn't had that bug. Maybe your version of the DVD is bugged and getting a new one from wallmart would fix it? Because those errors you write about here are completely new to me and I played the game with 6 different chars already so you would think I would have seen any of those bugs by now.
Please describe in detail what you did and I will try to recreate it and see what happens.

The bug in orzammar is also well documented. If you accept both Bhelen and Harrowmont's first missions and complete both of them, neither one will talk to you OR if you have persuasion and tell one or both that you are on their side and blahblah, then they will both wait for you to bring word of what the other wants. Obviously you can't get word of what the other wants, since neither will tell you anything besides, "Go tell me what he wants."
Every error I had (save crashing at The Pearl as I don't know what I did there) is documented online in other forums. This is not a 'just me' thing.

http://social.biowar...r-473963-1.html Orzammar bug in the 360 forum, and it works exactly the same across all platforms (as in it doesn't work at all).

Yeah. Definitely not a 'just me' or my disc needs replaced problem. You must just happen to play the game EXACTLY as the developers intended. Which if they wanted it to be a specific order then they should REQUIRE it in that order, not act as if you can do what you want.
