i was wondering if i can defuse Tali's and Legions argument after SM without picking sides?

Don't think you can do exactly what it you're suggesting. You can't go anywhere or do anything until you resolve the argument, so in order to do it after the SM you would have to put off either Legion's or Tali's loyalty mission until after the SM and have them not loyal when you go through the relay. Assuming both survive you can then do the loyalty mission(s) and deal with the argument. Far as I know you'll need to pick a side and lose loyalty, though at that stage that won't actually matter anymore. The way to do it without picking sides is to use either the Paragon or Renegade conversation options, but if you can do that you might as well do it before the Suicide Mission. In fact if you don't have access to the Paragon/Renegade conversation options before then you probably won't get them afterwards either. The last option is to pick a side and then go try to patch things up with the person who you upset as the Paragon/Renegade requirements for regaining loyalty that's bee lost are supposed to be lower. Even if you do regain loyalty I think it does permanently ruin a romance with Tali though

note - peacefully resolving this requires either a good Paragon rating or extremely high renegade.
