I normally love this kind of easter egg but I don't think it would fit as DA undead are just demons in skeletons.

Perhaps Dispel Magic could attempt to insta-kill them?

To be clear, I was talking about Justice when he was a possessed corpse. Healing worked for him, but what was it healing? It didn't stop him from decaying, but it rejuvenated him somehow...

I imagine it merely patched up his body, but is not able to stop the decaying since he's not really alive.

That confuses me a little.  I mean, even if the body was damaged, at what point would Justice be knocked unconscious?  A spirit can still move a body when its only bone.  Does the damage hurt more than the body then?  If that were the case, then would not the spells be healing the spirit itself?  I suppose that would explain healing in the fade then.

I would imagine this is one of those case's where the mechanics of the game are put before the lore/logic. Some times devs have to do that for the sake of gameplay itself. Imagine useing Justice as a tank on nightmare mode with out being able to heal him, or flip the coin, he could keep attacking while he was "dead". It wouldnt work well for the core gameplay itsself.

Pretty much this, similiar to shale being healed by magic.  Just was my own little attempt to justify it.

Despite not actually having holy magic, this is a surprisingly easy way to give Templars an anti-undead... Actually, anti-possessed-anything ability.

Actually, now I think about it Dispel Magic has a lot of potential. Perhaps in DA3 some specializations could have a 'signature move' that they can use for added bonuses in a conversation.

Blood Mage: Can attempt to use a subtle form of Blood Control to manipulate whoever they're talking to. However, if the target has a high willpower it can backfire and cause the target to become aggressive or uncooperative.

Templar: Can 'dispel magic' to cure bewitched foes and the like, which will cause them to become temporary allies (or simply collapse from exhaustion). However, this effect will fail/backfire if the mage/demon controlling the puppets is stronger than the Templar.

Bard: 'Bardic Charm', just adds some extra persuade options. Can backfire with people who din't appreciate fancy words or are smart enough to see through manipulation.

For other classes, would just be knowledge bonuses depending on their background. A duelist might be able to use their speed and skill to dodge a trap, a Spirit Healer would know more about injuries than your average mage and so on.

Dispel Magic just removes a spell allready being in place. When someone is possessed by e demon, its not a spell. Its another being\\soul having forced its way into a body. It can only be removed by going into the fade and "fixing it", or killing the possessed person. The Conner quest in Redcliffe explains it very very well.

Unded are possessed by demons as well, but that particular demon goes mad within the undead. Its still a sould possessing a body, and a spell isn`t involved.

If dispel magic insta kills possesed beings, it breaks the lore bigtime, and the credability of the magic system, and demons, the fade, and alot of other things just collapses.
