Microsoft updates very early (2 or 3 AM), then PC gets pushed in the morning or at noon, and Sony always goes last, not updating until afternoon or early evening (and Europe has to wait a whole day).

Why not midnight? I mean seriously. Steam releases games at midnight all the time!

God I hate Origin. Why did EA have to move away from Steam? Tomb Raider just unlocked at midnight eastern right on the dot.
Because they want the money, the microscopic sliver of sales that Valve takes off 3rd party sales was utterly unnaceptable to the EA overlords.
They tried to make us beileve it was about Policies and DLC arguments, but it's really just about money.

EA is like a vampire, seducing its victim before beginning the feast on the unwitting person.
Except that this vampire doesn't suck blood...

$$$$
EA doesn't play well with middlemen.
Nor do they do well with running any games from Westwood.

EA programmed Origin using a Commodore PET... or something just just as useful.

Well I'm Downloading Tomb Raider from Origin, started at 6 am UK.
Think it was released at 3 am UK time last night.

Nope. It unlocked at midnight. Finished pre-loading/started extracting as soon as it hit 12:01.
I think Steam unlocks games at midnight for each individual region.
