is it us or are we sometimes guilty of being like spoilt brats? a cynic would say 'we should be grateful even for such protracted delay cos the end result will be superb and bioware did this cos fans wanted more times with old characters from both games prior?' do we sometimes have a right to complain in these situations either?

When businesses are unreliable and have poor business practices in general; customers should be complianing, not bending over farther.

Origin is experiencing overwhelming demand which is keeping some users from accessing their games and DLC. We’re working as fast as we can to resolve.

The Sims fans are the reason we can't play the DLC yet, we should eat them.

Go to work, back home, take the cat to the vet and still no dlc. lol
Sims 3/City fans are having problems with origins, too.

Plan your realeses better next time, EA.

chris quick question if it's alright in asking, when we do get the dlc which save would you recommend using, save before Thessia or a save before chronos station?

Simcity alone is probably why the servers are a little bogged..... ( I use the term "little" quite liberally here)

Yeah, I agree on that.
Not really smart to release an always online game at the same day that several new DLC's and patches are released ^^

even worse, I heard there was no preload service offered to those who preorder simcity. that might have help ease up the servers for today....

Totally beside the point. I can access my games and DLC.

Citadel still hasn't been marked live yet, for anybody.

Unless you're saying that Citadel is being purposely delayed to try to reduce server congestion?

Why aren't all these distribution services building P2P-support into their systems? That could even ensure that everyone's game files stay the same, ergo helping to detect hacking.

Explain to us if you be so kind to what is involved in a bit more detail with hope bioware might take note and learn some pointer from you:O

Apparently, BitTorrent and other file sharing protocols scale very well with the number of downloaders. Steam, Origin & Co. utilise content delivery networks as far as I'm aware. Those must reach bottlenecks at some amount of downloaders. As we are seeing now (and with every big release day again). Sure, they can fire up more servers, in more locations, on faster connections to counter-balance, but such a system can not beat one where every downloader also uploads, therefore reducing the risk of the whole system getting overwhelmed. It might not get faster, but more reliable and more fair, since every downloader has the chance to download from other sources as the possibly over-whelmed primary servers.

Additionally, BitTorrent would for example can check file integrity, meaning that corrupted, out-dated or modified files could be found and replaced.  If ME3 and origin would do that for the multiplayer files of the game, many cheating avenues would be prevented. Of course, a clear separation to moddable, SP-content needs to be done there. Not easy I guess, but worth the effort IMHO to satisfy user demands.

Bioware-Montreal is the developer. EA is the Publisher. Which do you believe is in charge of publishing to the public?

It should be a joint effort of course ;-)   The devs building support for such update mechanisms into the game & the publisher offering that distribution mode.

EDIT: Inb4 "File sharing is evil!": It's successful tactic based on inherently neutral tech/protocols. Why should the legitimate businesses not emply such a tactic for legit purpose? See Spotify: https://en.wikipedia...cal_information

Well I can log into my game here in Australia but the DLC screen from the game page is coming up blank. So no DLC joy for me yet.

If store had DLC already, people wouldn't keep refreshing it like waiting in larger and larger queue. EA wins free DDoS!

Apparently releasing Sim City, a 6gb patch for BF3 and a ME3 DLC at the same time is a bad idea.

Who would have thought?

surely bioware/ea were expecting the servers to get hard hit, everyones dying to get their hands on this dlc, my head feels like its gonna explode waiting to see it on origin let alone play it :(

Just to clarify - Bioware has nothing to do with this, they passed the DLC to Origin's distribution long time ago.

They're selling it on Origin for about $17 more than I paid for it on Steam.
