I just noticed those who complain about Alistair...happen to be men who think he is not this "man's man"...

That would be accurate....the ration from male/female Ali haters must be 1000-1...and deffo not seen a Ali hater thread started by a woman yet...

Deffo some very insecure men around here (not you timurlane - you get it) :)

forget the mens men that not the point...the thing is that the only thing that alistair doing all the time is crying, whining, get pissed me with even when i have to choose something *cough*arl eamon castle *cough* or crying about duncan

He cries about Duncan because Duncan was a friend and he cared...who wouldn't cry for a fallen friend??? And who wouldn't cry for a family member, please..if you don't...you have no heart and need to be smacked.

I like Alistair, but I hate his "I can't do anything on my own". He follows you around, it's hard to get rid of him and once at the end of the game when you make an arangement with someone to take revenge on someone (which makes perfect sense), he's all pissed. Wait a minute a-hole, you let me call shots from the beginning (even though YOU'RE a senior Grey Warden) and now your mad cos I make these choices. ****** off I say! xD

It is naive...my darling...I highly doubt you got a girlfriend with the way you act...my darling. Also, Isolde was Alistair's family even if she disliked him.

Judging someone by their banter on an online video game forum...now that's just sad.

Not as sad as you..my darling...sitting here trying to have a stupid arguement, you will never be right, just right in your eyes. Get over yourself.

aaron...unfortunatly (and why a lot of men get a bad rep) is that, that actualy is the truth...most men are so wrapped up in their dumb ass 'mens men' routine they forget to pay any attention to their 'gf'....

Another reason why (most) women like Alistair, he is romantic, shy, reserved, loyal (romantically)...ohhh all the things most men are actually not...

He aint some drinking muppet who admires other men cos they are real men, goes out with his mates all the time, football game, spends all his money on his car...etc etc etc etc...

Hell I AM a man, but I am ashamed at times to be one...

I've seen Alistair in his short clothes, and I can tell you even in Ferelden winters he is man enough for me. ;)

The only thing he is doing is whining and crying about duncan and the king ****spoiler removed, you probably know what the "secret" word is"***.Still i cant undestand why the 90% saying he is the best companion and romance option.Anyone else agree or im the only one here? :innocent:

Man I am so tired of you people constantly complaining about some characters upset little things like their family getting massacred and lives destroyed and so they say 'Wow that sucked my life was ruined' and then the corral of whiners 'WAAAAAH MY CHARACTUR WUZ UPSET!  HE IZ A WHINER!'

I have heard this over and over and over since BG2 with various characters.  Give it up guys it is so freaking tired and old.  Suck your thumb and live with it.  People who have tragic things happen to them sometimes react emotionally if he didn't it would just be idiotic.  I am not sure why it would be better if Alistair was all like 'Wahoo Duncan got killed!  I hate mentors I am teh cool.' or whatever.

Did you honestly just say that?

Do you ever reflect for a moment before posting, or was this actually a joke?

You might as well have said "only a stupid person would say the word stupid twice on one sentence"

I'm not sure if your statement could have been any more hypocritical or self-defeating if you had been trying specifically and exclusively for hypocrisy.

Alistair is the most nauseating companion I have for the first 10 levels +/- of the game's conversations. His constant whining, almost girl like, and the whimpering, is enough to make me throw up at times. Fortunately once you get passed this new age limp wrist-ed section of the game, he isn't that bad. I however prefer Oghren, far more earthy and with more backbone.

There is a difference between sensitive and whiny. To me, Alistair's biggest fault is how he interacts with other men. He's just not a man's man.

So a man's man is somebody who after all their friends are killed dance around and sing a happy song?  I have talked to alot of war veterans and some of them have emotional trauma from it...but maybe they are not as manly and whatever.

Seriously dude you have got to be trolling this is simply too idiotic to take seriously.

Hey dude lets say all your friends were killed in front of you...would you shrug it off in a macho manner or would you go to their funeral and act like a girl?

What exactly do you want characters to do?  Even Oghren says he can't take his issues so he drinks himself to excess which I take it you find more admirable and manly.
