Man I am so tired of you people constantly complaining about some characters upset little things like their family getting massacred and lives destroyed and so they say 'Wow that sucked my life was ruined' and then the corral of whiners 'WAAAAAH MY CHARACTUR WUZ UPSET!  HE IZ A WHINER!'

I have heard this over and over and over since BG2 with various characters.  Give it up guys it is so freaking tired and old.  Suck your thumb and live with it.  People who have tragic things happen to them sometimes react emotionally if he didn't it would just be idiotic.  I am not sure why it would be better if Alistair was all like 'Wahoo Duncan got killed!  I hate mentors I am teh cool.' or whatever.

Failing emotionally and socially in life is, most of the times, inversely proportional with the "Ice cold lonely wolf" attitude on forums, rpg etc. that the individual has.

All Alistair does is whinge and moan. Im glad he went. Loghain is real man even though the only reason I took him along was in case the ritual with Morrigan didn't work and he could die in place of me. He did try and have me killed after all.

The game didn't let me explain that I wanted Loghain to sacrifice himself to kill the Archdemon.
 
Plus, he was acting as if I was making Loghain a Grey warden as a reward, when I specifically said it was a punishment.

When all is said and done I think Alistair is a great, well-written character BECAUSE I hate him so much. If he was written like the characters in Mass Effect 1, where you have to make a choice between 2 people, it doesn't really matter to me, because the characters were just very poorly written and not very engaging. If I had to make a choice between letting Oghren or Alistair fall off a bridge I would say "Alistair! Now! NOW! DO IT NOOOWWW! Can I watch?". The fact that I detest the guy THAT MUCH says something to me.

That is the game's fault and not Alistair's...They should of put that in...but they didn't, maybe it was cut.
