Citadel is totally worth it; best $15 I've spent in a long, long time. Brought the feels of ME1 back. For some reason, I can't really pinpoint what part of the DLC made me feel this way, but it felt a lot like KOTOR too.

Best 10$ I've spent so far this year.  And I haven't even had time to finish it yet.

Managed to scoop it up while it was priced at 800 BW points acidentally for about 2 minutes.

Finished the 'story/game' portion of it last night, haven't done much post final-battle yet.... but I'm not a fan at all. Didn't like the tone, the one-liners were really forced (every friggin' sentence was punctuated by a squaddie's lame zinger). The LI interaction with Liara also seemed forced and pretentious, unless I'm missing a 'part 2' component later on.

I'm obviously in the minority, but I wanted more serious/dark themed content in the vein of Leviathan. Something involving Harbinger or any Reaper. As it stands, I feel like I paid to listen in on someone else's in-joke. I'm not really sure how this will fit tonally with the rest of the game if I ever play thru again.

Someone else mentioned in another thread, this is totally meta-content, and I've never been a fan of anything like that (going back to 'Scream' off the top of my head), so there probably wasn't a chance to win me over once they decided on that direction.

Hopefully the rest of the post-battle content is interesting.

Citadel is only a "tippy-hrippy", super goofy fan service dlc to me with tons of cheese and many cheap cliches, tropes, cringeworthy one-liners... oh and the story part is horrible and uninspired. The whole thing feels like a cheap excuse for all those juvenile and - in most cases - forced squad banters and remarks. It feels extra out of place (has no real connection to the over arching story) and makes the whole team look like a bunch of adolescents out on a summer vacation. It's more like an exclusive chrismass episode of a TV show.

Story,plot: 3/10
Fan service: 8/10 (I'm in the minority here)
Design: 9/10
Sounds and music: 8/10
Combat: 8/10
Goofiness, B-category stupidity: 1000/10

To me it's: 5/10

Maybe I'm too old, cynical and Central-European for this kind of silly "hollywood" light-heartedness. I like humour but, not goofy, in to the face "vahaha" humour.

Yes, I'd say you are...

Hurt your feelings or what?  I just wrote my honest opinion. You have a problem with that? So many have spammed these forums with their hatred toward the ME3 plot and the ending for a year, that I think I can have my portion of expression of dislike for something for a change... and I'm not alone with it, only in the minority.  Problem? ;)

The dlc is amazing from a desing, gameplay and features point of view, I even enjoyed some of the character moments (though most of them felt forced to me), but the story is ridiculously bad and gimmicky, so are the silly one-liners and the teenager wibe in there (it is clearly a shout out to the loyal fans and some fan service for those who do not play this game for the over-arching plot and lore, but for the characters mostly and for the romance of course). And to me what sells a dlc, is the plot and how it is presented.

I don't hate this dlc. As you can see it, I gave it a 5, which means "ok, but pointless". If it had a decent to great story to it, then I would be ok with the rest of the stuff, but since the story is awkward and silly, it makes the dlc a meh to me, and the only things that make it memorable to me are those tyersome tropes, references and the out of place wibe and overwhelming amount of cheese. I enjoyed the first two missions of the dlc though... but  a "redacted"... another "redacted"... and that silly "redacted" plot in the middle of the reaper war... wow, it was stupid... Kai Leng I could handle, but this was a bit too much for my taste...

Some revision from my part.

Played it again (story part and checked out the rest of the content... most of it anyway) and I got the hang of it a bit more this time around. While I find it still somewhat out of place and cheesy, it is not that bad of a plot as I thought it was after one playthrough.

The level design is truly top notch. The combat is great and the gameplay is as cool as ever. The music and sounds are great too. The script is fine despite it does not fit my taste as much as, say Leviathan (still my favourite), Bring Down The Sky, Overlord or Omega and I still find too many cheap moments in it. I find the party absolutely adorable despite its out of place feel + the character moments are nice, but there were quite a few cringeworthy lines and moments as well. And the amount of content and features is just amazing. It really is like a smaller expantion pack.

So my verdict:

Pros:

level desing:9/10
Gameplay and combat: 9/10
Features, quality and quantity of the content: 9/10
Nice character moments: 7/10
Music and sounds: 8/10

Cons:

The plot: 6/10 (not that bad, but wouldn't call it good either) <- this is the most important part for me in a dlc
Stupid one liners and cheese + the many pretentious, silly moments: 1/10...grrrrrr... and so many of them
Out of place feel: 5/10

Final verdict: 7/10 because of the plot's quality and the cheesy fan service stuff.

I'm totally with you, but otherwise it is a good dlc.

The only bad thing is the story (And that scene with Tali)...
Compared with the rest is pretty simplistic and sometimes, immature, but I think that was the point:
It's all about the characters of this universe.
Just have a good time with them, no drama and a lot of fun. Hell, even the bad guys are related to this, showing what makes Shep and friends unique.

Besides that, this dlc is pretty amazing!
Best hub in ME trilogy, the Armax, the minigames, the humor... It's very complete and adds replay value to the game.

Dude Iw an't trying to come off like that, I was just joking...may be I forgot to put the ;)....you are entitled to rate it as you wish mate, I happen to enjoy the tone it has, but I will say it's the odd one out.Still best dlc so far for me...up there with LOTSB and Overlord from ME2 and Laviathan from ME 3, did't like omega that much

Haven't even finished it, because I had to leave for work but...
I usually give a fairly detailed review on DLC's, buit what the heck, who cares about pros and cons, 10/10 from me. Character driven, as I like it, my favorite Bioware DLC yet. And haven't even thrown the party yet.

Great job guys. No.. superb

So I managed to finish late in the night and this piece of marvellous work almost brought me tears of joy, being for the sucker I am for characters.

The story was OK (kind of silly though), level design and combat pretty solid, but man, DEM characters outshone everything by far, but I guess this was to be expected since it's where Mass Effect is at it's strongest. So this DLC played to it's strength and at the same time gave tons and tons of what I wanted. For that (and maybe because it's at an end), I'll maintain my earlier statement give it a totally subjective but deserved 10/10 and personal favorite DLC.

Thank you Mass Effect team, and thank you Mass Effect.

I really like the DLC but is the clone armor included in the game when you first meet him/her? I really like that armor.

I didn't find any extra armor.  It appears to be a recolor of James' armor.

I think the closest match is the Ariake Technologies armor set.

EDIT: Scratch that... the N7 Defender Armor is identical to it...  It was preorder bonus so I don't have it http://masseffect.wi..._Defender_Armor

How's that even possible?

The actual "combat mission" took me about 5 hours. Then 8 hours for the hub afterwards (I only completed the Armax Arena stuff, didn't do any of the Arcade minigames yet).

Bare in mind I spent time listening to every conversation in the new hub by running past them multiple times. :P

Anyway, THIS is how BioWare should make DLC.

Yea. I can tell Bioware put a lot of thought into it. I almost want to say it "tries too hard". This is also the first DLC I have played relatively unspoiled, so that is good. Of course, I liked most of bioware stuff anyways. Well done, well done.

Unexpected mood from ME3 I'd say and I think it's what the end game needed, a goodbye to the trilogy.

Yes it was cheesy, yes the main plot wasn't 'that' great, but it was so fun and enjoyable! I mean, easily a 8/10 as I felt my 15$ was WELL worth it.

I started this DLC on my most recent playthrough, and I began the DLC as soon as it was available (so I am missing several party members), because I was under the impression it was like Leviathan where you don't have to do it all at once.

Am I going to miss out on a lot of things, or can I interact with the later party members after I finish the "main DLC plot"?

Or should I just load up the "right before the end" save that I did Omega with?

Are we talking about the same armor? The Camo armor that he/she is wearing when you first him/her doesn't look like the N7 Defender at all.

Up until this, LotSB was my all-time favorite ME DLC. Citadel blows it away. Great action packed storyline, but for me the best part was actually spending time with your squadmates. One true final good time before the final battle.

I already posted this in the spoiler forum, but since it's spoiler-free it fits here as well:

I can't even begin to list the things I liked in the DLC. It was fun to
play, the charcter focus was great. I was totally okay with the
increased level of humor, as it fitted the atmosphere quite nicely. But
there were great moments of melancholia as well. Some might call the
story cliché, but I want to think of it as a time honored sci-fi topos.
And there are so many little things to discover, millions of allusions,
the ambient conversations (the multiplayer ones were especially funny -
tech-armor turian, the vorcha, etc.).

This DLC is easily the most enjoyable one I've played in the series.

I'ts like a game developer's equivalent of make-up sex with the fanbase. :wizard:

Honestly this is the best dlc Bioware ever put out. Mind you I played all of them, and this blows every other. Sure the plot is actually pretty weak, even fairly simple some might say (altought it has intersting lose ends). What sells it tought is the aftermath and all the fanservice in it. I mean, if mass effect 3 was your first mass effect, if you did'nt pay attention to the dialogue, and if you have never been to this forum, then yeah, sure, it's pricy. If you did tought, and if you know the memes, the jokes and all that goes with the franchise, then it's a freaking instanbuy. Honestly this is a better apology than EC was, and that's saying a lot.

Just played 80%. It's amazing. I feel like I need to play it through a few more times to catch everything.
