This a brilliant DLC, those sites that have reviewed it have give it a big thumbs up ( Eurogamer gave it 9 they gave Omega a 4/10) please can you pass on the Citadel reviews to the team working on the next ME game, we want the new game to be like this, plenty of wit, jokes, character interactions, style.
This should be a template somewhat for the next game, action yes but better character interaction/ dialogue
Thanks

The only problem I had with this is that I couldn't shake the feeling that this should have been a post-ending dlc. The tone, atmosphere, celebrations, it all would have fit. Since you had a clone as a villain you couldn't have stretched the lore any further by have explaining that synthesis shep was reformed back-together through the synthesis nanites that are around every organic DNA, control shep could assume direct control of a robot and make it look like himself, high ems destroy shep survives, low ems destroy and refuse die. Then the end, with everyone getting back on the normandy would have been "perfect."
Marta Rio II sums it up just right. It is a "perfect dream." Everything is great in the dream but when it is over you wake up and have to face the reality of the endings.
What it is now, is that you feel saddened at the end of the dlc because they still have to go and face that ending. Whether Shepard reunites with the squad again post-EC is unknown, yes it is heavily implicit, but it is not official canon. It is left to head canon, which is second rate to official canon and about as useful an an opinion: not very..
Don't get me wrong I really liked the dlc, I think you guys did a bang up job. I just could not shake the feeling that it would ahve been EVEN better as post-ending.

The cons though are that once you return to the campaign it's as though the whole event didn't happen. Normandy was there for a refit and in dry dock had the elevator again in CIC so I thought we would get a tuned up ship with the elevator back etc. nope! No crew member makes reference to anything that happened there either, breaks immersion.
I have been silent but a forum browser for awhile, and the gasbags who relentlessly complain drive me nuts! If you don't like ME 3 then why stick around? Did mass effect lose something between 2 and 3? Yes but as a whole it's still a great game, and for this DLC you can see the love that went into it. We criticize and complain with no understanding of what goes into it, they had to script, model, texture, design all of that stuff not to mention the animations voice acting music, etc. it was an enormous effort and I am grateful for it and all the DLCs for adding to the core game. Thanks for the wonderment and fun bioware!

This was a great dlc. I liked the feeling of a mission like the one we had, and getting some leave time afterwards.
Overall I'd give it a 9/10.
The clone vs. shep reminded me of Metroid Prime: Echoes and Prime Corruption (another game trilogy with Hale!) which I thought was cool.
I liked that there's also the 'play baseball vs. Vulcans in the HOlosuite' feel to the other half of the DLC. It's good to take some leave during a war, get repairs and upgrades, change crew/soldier rotations on the lines and so on.

Thanks, I've got now my alternate ending.Uncle Jo wrote...
It is indeed just a fan service and the story is absurd and totally out ouf place, but my god, it was the best ME dlc I've ever played.
It's filled with references to the two previous games, nostalgia, self irony and a some memorable quotes. And Wrex. A lot of Wrex.
The Citadel Archives was a parody of the Suicide Mission. Special mention to Glyph. Thanks to it and its hilarious remarks, I died more in the Citadel Archives than in all my ME3 playthroughs.

Biotic Shepard actually got recognition a few times in ME3. Once by Traynor talking about Grissom Academy, then by Liara during her research project, and another at the party during this dlc in the argument about biotics vs phyical atributes at the party (Shepard mentions his/her biotics). The Jack segment is the only time used in a cutscene though.SwimDevil wrote...
Loved it. I laughed, almost cried, and the boss fight was somewhat challenging. I think I'm really going to enjoy the Armax Arena, especially with those achievements tied to it. The Jack and Shepard reunion date was everything I wanted, one last fight with her at his side. Oh and biotic Shepard got recognition for once, just wish more of it bled over into the main game in the form of minor dialogue, but I think that's just asking for too much because I didn't want it to end.

In fact, I'd spend the money I paid for Dead Space 3 for that DLC. Because, hiding behind all the "aww, we're all together", there is massive gametime enhancement delivered. At least for me...
I am in the Armax Combat Arena for I don't know how many hours, and I'm teamed up with Ash and Zaeed: What. The. Hell. We're gonna tear this whole place apart.
"Pinnacle the second" they say, "Bye, bye, multiplayer matches with neon-pink geth" I say.
It was advertised as some sort of definite goodbye, but in fact, it rather just refreshed the entire game for me - gonna spend a lot more hrs on the SP again, that's how amazing the DLC is.
Sure, I loved all the dialogue, the main story, how they actually got me the "real" Ash back (I know Chris L'Etoile is gone, but coulda fooled me there, actually), I just wanted to point out explicitly that it's more than just a cheesy fanservice cutscene collection.
If you'll excuse this one now, I'm off to shoot things with my fictional buddies some more.

Impressions:
- "Uncle Wrex". "Princesses". He may as well just ran around calling them "h0m0s" and "Nancy-boys".
- The clone defeat. Nice "Mummy 2" conclusion/ripoff/"homage". I kept expecting him to yell "Anuksamun!" at "Brooks".
- Appreciate Jack getting zip for character growth. Thanks ever so. She had literally seven seconds of worth the time. And maybe the bit as they were all leaving for the Normandy. Fortunately, I was not so desperate for further interaction with her that I would accept whatever dross BW deigned to deliver. As devs-to-fan STFU's go, this was pretty reasonably insulting. Well-played, BW.
- Garrus the Lame. Needs Shepard to teach him Girls. Suave or awkward, BW. Which is he?
- Zaeed was Zaeed. Thanks for that. He hitting on Samara was one of the very few highlights of the DLC.
- Grunt and his "flower for Liara". Nice bit.
- Joker being an @ssh0le the entire time. Used to kinda like the guy when he was one only some of the time. Kept waiting for EDI to backhand him and break his whole head, then everyone laugh like the end of a Scooby episode. Would have kept with the tone of the DLC.
- Kasumi ends on a dairy-induced flatulence joke. Geeneeous.
- Javik telling a joke. High-larious. Expected him to have a drink after and intone "Crisp and clean and nooo caffeine! Ahahah!" Pity they missed that one. 'Tube it if you don't get the reference.
- Can I assume all those hollow-eyed rendered faces on various NPC in the backgrounds were scanned BW employees? Kinda suspicious about that one.
- The Mordin pad. Cool song. His fanfic was funny-ish.
- Making us do all 183 pull-ups was clever. Induced boredom rather than unintentional scripted boredom. Sneaky buggers!
- The Talicancer must be angry. They had such unrealistic, over-entitled expectations. Again.
- I'm thinking it's best to let it play out over the length of the game than getting to see it all in one go. Maybe that mitigates it. But I think I doubt it. I could point out more, but this is plenty - this illustrates the overall millieu of this DLC, I think.
This is how you chose to go out? Oooohh-kay.
Have it your way.

If the option had been there, they could have it set like 1-3 years after the ending, with the citadel having only just finally been repaired to the point it is livable again. Shepard would have been still serving aboard the Normandyto help out with reconstruction, but now is finally retiring from the Alliance and thus as the comes back to the Citadel for the Normandy to get repairs and get started on the process of handing the ship back to the alliance.
Rather then Anderson telling you hes giving his apartment, it would instead be explained that between rebuilding and everything else, the alliance only just went through his will which stated that Shepard would get his apartment.
Now, dealing with EDI would be a little more difficult, but there are two easy fixes. One,
just write her out of the story, or instead have her replaced by “EDI 2”. That option could work, as maybe they were able to fix up EDI's AI core and restart it, but as what would happen as they moved her, it would result in a different personality. To reflect this, maybe change her robot's appearance a bit or something to also show this.
Besides this, only a few lines referring to the war still being on would need to be changed, with the party being one last chance for the Normandy crew to spend time together while still being the Normandy crew. The final scene would be a bit different, with instead of talking about how this might be their last chance as the final battle is approaching, it would be expressing sadness that it is well, over and basically an end of an era for them.
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved this DLC to death. Probably the best 4-5 hours in the entire trilogy. I just am slightly bummed out that this was not an option, even though I knew weeks ago that it wouldn't happen.

If you're a shooter gamer who plays through the game in shooter mode, the answer is clearly NO. The action is good but represents only about 60% of the DLC's 5-hour duration. But this DLC was clearly not targeting your market.
If you're still hoping for a modified ending, this DLC is not for you.
If you're a RPG fan who's made his/her peace with the Extended Cut and loves ME for its characters and universe, the the answer is clearly YES.
Obvious spoilers below
- Played the DLC once, just prior to the attack on Chronos station.
- All NPC's alive save for Mordin and Thane.
- Male Shep
- Romanced Ashley in ME1, Jack in ME2, then reconciled with Ash in ME3.
It also felt like an opportunity for voice actors and the whole ME team to bond one last time in the ME universe, with lots of inside jokes and playfull banter. Wrex really owns this DLC, so I took him along on most of the action segments. Good stuff!
The Cat-6 mercenary outfit was nice and brought new tactical challenges to the single-player campaign. Clone Shep and Brooks were challenging and had sensible motivations to do what they did.
I hope Miranda gets an approving comment on her stunning red number... I wanted to compliment her on it (as a friend), so I hope LI Shep does.
Nice to revisit the Kasumi-style heist/safety hacking game for a bit. I enjoyed that from ME2.
Overall, it's a nice, bittersweet farewell to the characters we loved. A touching send-off to Robin Sachs as well.
Thanks Bioware... for a great ride in ME1 through 3.

I REALLY hope the team of writers who handled character banter is back for the next installment of the franchise because my God, that's what this franchise is all about. And they absolutely nailed it. The plot made fun of itself and the cheesiness was all in good fun and humor.
10/10. Bravo.

Think i am going to do the mission and some of the after reunions after Rannoch and the party will be the last thing.
Tali singing was at the same time cute and unexpected.
Also loved Thane's memorial and the videos he left for Shepard. It was a bit sad but it also somehoe made me feel proud.
Great DLC!

Taking a step back, it seems as though the Citadel DLC is intended to be a distraction from the ending fiasco...and a pretty good one at that. It felt almost like a dream with all the colors and the humor and the party amidst a galactic war. If you want to damage control those who are still fuming over the ending, what better way than to lure them with the characters and intimate relationships that partly fueled their ending hatred in the first place: "How can we get them to leave the ending alone and increase the likelihood that they'll purchase future BW games? Oh, I know--the characters. They like those, right? We'll do a DLC that will make fangirls and fanboys squeal with unencumbered happiness, and drown the distaste for the ending with inside jokes and a combat arena." They said no changes to the ending, which would have been the more direct fix to the problem, so the next best thing really is to just focus on one of the main reasons people got attached to the game in the first place...the characters. In a sense, I sort of felt used by the end of the DLC; like my love for these characters was taken advantage of (I hope it wasn't).
I appreciate the DLC--clearly a lot of love and thought was put into each and every character in the game, which is why I started playing the series in the first place. However, you can give me a million dances with Garrus, a million movies starring Javik and Blasto, a million drinks to pass around to my friends, and a million emotional goodbyes where my love interest gives me platitudes ("That's the thing about getting old, Shepard, the platitudes get just as old") about how I'm going to win the war, and none of them will ever take away the galactic disappointment that is the ending. I appreciate the daydream, but I haven't forgotten my main problem with the game, and likely never will.

Never had so much laugh, fun , emotion and tension in a single DLC since Game-Expansions were disbanded. Lair of the Shadow Broker is **** against this , you have outdone yourselve with this. If Mass Effect 4 goes in that direction of Storytelling...you will even beat the original Mass Effect Trilogy. Thanks for this!

I hope I'm not dating myself badly here but it reminded me in concept of Star Trek 4 lol which is to say it's just a fun fun adventure all the way around and I prefer to remember the characters this way. Excellent job from BioWare on this, really guys you should be proud. Thank you.
