I thought it was great. I really liked  the camaraderie banter during the fighting. To me it showed that this tight knit group that has been fighting together for 3 years are unmatched in battle and they truly are friends even though there are vast differences in personality and culture among the crew. I think mankind IRL could take a page from that and apply it today. I mean after all, they have been taking down skyscraper tall ship/aliens and saving planets and galaxies...so what made this merc group think they had a chance? In a nutshell the banter made the characters more believable IMO.

I think you guys still should have showed Tali without the mask even if it was just for a moment before fade out in the invite scene. There was that instance of silence after she sang and moved close to Shepard....and I was like "Holy crap! she's gonna take off her mask!" then that sound from BL2 when you die sounded in my head when she said..."works for me" and then faded to black. I was like..."are you freaking kidding me?" but it is, what it is I guess. Maybe the next Mass Effect game will be in the future where the Quarians don't have to where suits, and they are all unmasked anyway and none of this will matter.
I would give it a 9.5 out of 10.....the .5 due to Tali unmask not happening.   :pinched: :P

B+. It would've been an A- if Tali had an in-game model, bu I'm pretty satisfied with how all our friends went out.

I laughed so hard at so many places I can't even remember them all now. Looking forward to another playthrough. Brooks had some hilarious lines. Shepard explaining to Miranda what happened to the sushi bar... Kasumi at the party... and pretty much everything Grunt did or said.... all hilarious. I literally cried laughing whilst trapped in the container with Wrex and Ashley. "I should GO. I SHOULD go."

Loved every second of it, thank you so much. Now I'm just sad it's over. The only thing I would have wished for is for some repeatable invites - so just something similar to the LI cabin stuff in ME2. Just to invite the LI over and sit chilling in front of the tv, laying on the bed, relaxing in the hot tub, etc.

It's very good. Better than lair of the shadowbroker in my opinion (not much better though since lair of the shadowbroker is pretty flawless). The reason it was so good for me is that the focus of it was on the characters not combat. And the combat aspect has always been the least favorite part of the Mass effect games for me.

The only downside is the auto-dialogue. I kind of expected there to be auto-dialogue given the usage of it in the main game; but it felt like it was even more persistent in this DLC.

I really enjoyed the DLC, it really gave a great send off to the whole team, in a way that we've never seen them before, just relaxing as a group of friends. Great job BW, I went in not expecting much and came out very pleasantly surprised!

I really liked everything about it. The best thing about it was the various dialogue from Shepard and squadmates. Well done Bioware.

I loved it. I thought it was nice to see all of these characters in one place. It was really nice to listen to the banter and reminiscing and trouble that happens when the most badass soldiers in the galaxy get together and drink!

As far as the plot I didnt mind it, I mean it had to be difficult to come up with a reason for someone to kill the man whos trying to amass the gretest fleet in history to save the galaxy.
But it was a good time and it kind of had an Expendables feel to it and i'd say the price could be a little less but overall I was happy with the content.

It even made me want to go back through the series and relive everything!:D

ok. if there's anyone reading this... well.

thanks for the cool stuff and really?? for the what in the world stuff.

cool points - the conversations were also humorous and having played with liara as the LI, her comments here and there were comical. seeing the squad going forward during the chase in the archives and such was also fun. finally, the party. having a chance to talk to your friends and be normal. it had a ME1 feel in that respect.

what in the world stuff - however, it was "cute" at best. 4GB for auto dialog and "over the head" text? what happened to the scenes of individual one-on-one interaction from ME1 and ME2?

also... a clone? seriously, guys? have you all been watching resident evil movies? paul anderson already butchered a great video game franchise by using the idea of cloning alice. i particularly preferred not to know what cerberus did to shepard, it was more mysterious than thinking "well now there's a 1,000 more somewhere in a facility and is the one from my story even the real shepard." that was an extremely weak plot point, in my opinion. why not just embrace indoctrination? that was where the story seemed to be headed from the first game. then it was like someone in the writing team just ate mushrooms or something.

another note - if you're adding a sim-like feature to the game (like customizing the apartment), add also activities that justify the reason why you can design the space. designing for designing with no sense of interaction makes that possibility a little pointless. why have this awesome bar if shepard can't make herself a drink?

overall, i enjoyed it for the reunion factor. the cutscenes were too short, though - jack and her varren don't even get a whole minute. in the end, it felt to me that this definitely should've just been part of the main content. felt like a poor excuse for a dlc.

Don't really know where to begin with this one, but I definitely LOVED this dlc. The clone part was what it was and it didn't really bother me, but for me this was really about everything that happened after the clone issue was resolved. So many great moments and damn it was just awesome to be able to hang out with all of these characters again, especially in ways that we haven't really been able to before.

One of my favorite moments (and there were many) was Grunt doing his thing by the door during the party, for some reason that just had me laughing so damned hard. But like I said I pretty much loved everything about the party--it was just exactly what I wanted/needed it to be.

The only negative thing I can really say about this is that while I was playing it, and even more so now that I have finished it, I can't help but feel that this should have been the ending of Mass Effect 3. This should have been it. It was funny, sad in some places and just overall incredibly beautiful. And as much as I have made my peace with ME3's ending, I will always be a bit sad that it couldn't have been more like this.

But great job, BioWare. This, to me, is what every piece of dlc should strive to be, because it was one hell of an experience. I really think the team knocked it out of the park with this one.

I've already posted my thoughts on the DLC--it's everything they said it would be, and I love it for what it is (a chance to say goodbye to the trilogy) and will always regret what it is not (post-ending). However, I feel compelled to make an additional observation, mostly for my own venting, to be honest, but also on the slight chance that someone at BW will read this and at least try to understand where I'm coming from.

Taking a step back, it seems as though the Citadel DLC is intended to be a distraction from the ending fiasco...and a pretty good one at that. It felt almost like a dream with all the colors and the humor and the party amidst a galactic war. If you want to damage control those who are still fuming over the ending, what better way than to lure them with the characters and intimate relationships that partly fueled their ending hatred in the first place: "How can we get them to leave the ending alone and increase the likelihood that they'll purchase future BW games? Oh, I know--the characters. They like those, right? We'll do a DLC that will make fangirls and fanboys squeal with unencumbered happiness, and drown the distaste for the ending with inside jokes and a combat arena." They said no changes to the ending, which would have been the more direct fix to the problem, so the next best thing really is to just focus on one of the main reasons people got attached to the game in the first place...the characters. In a sense, I sort of felt used by the end of the DLC; like my love for these characters was taken advantage of (I hope it wasn't).

I appreciate the DLC--clearly a lot of love and thought was put into each and every character in the game, which is why I started playing the series in the first place. However, you can give me a million dances with Garrus, a million movies starring Javik and Blasto, a million drinks to pass around to my friends, and a million emotional goodbyes where my love interest gives me platitudes ("That's the thing about getting old, Shepard, the platitudes get just as old") about how I'm going to win the war, and none of them will ever take away the galactic disappointment that is the ending. I appreciate the daydream, but I haven't forgotten my main problem with the game, and likely never will.

I can simply do nothing else then agree! It was a very nice fan service but it do not forgive the ending. The ending is still a sad fiasco in gaming history!

I don't think anything will top the Shadow Broker DLC for me, but having said that...

Campy as all hell, and the self-referential jokes never stop from start to finish... but I enjoyed every moment. The CAT6 were challenging on insanity and enjoyable to fight (at least as a soldier), and the final boss fight in the armory was the most epic in ME from a gameplay point of view. And then there's the party, that just sealed the deal for me. Worth every penny.

And while I'll never forgive the ending debacle of the main game, I am still grateful to BioWare for creating the trilogy and hope that they will not be further constrained by the worst game publisher in history so that future BW games will never be forced to fall flat at the end due to outside influences that have no idea what they're doing.

In short, thanks for everything, and please don't let DA3 suck.

Incredible. Worth every penny. I was laughing so much throughout the entire thing, I couldn't stay focused. Only con would have to be the stealth part. Not sure what I was suppose to be doing there. Kept dying while trying to be sneaky so I just started creating biotic explosions everywhere. Everything else, the dialogue, the new characters and enemies, the humor, the missions, it was all great.

Very well done.

If you didn't like it, I'm sorry you were disappointed. Please let people know why you didn't like it, what let you down, etc. Please don't just post "It sucked" or whatever, please try to explain why you didn't like it.

My background for answering this is that I am writing my thesis on metafiction (reg. Paul Auster).

The word is that the ending won't be affected by the Citadel DLC. So I probably will buy it, but begrudingly so.

The fact is the ending is the worst thing to ever happen to Bioware, from the point of view of this soul. It is obtrussive, it is un-playable and it is... space magic-utopian. Also, Shepard wakes up for crying out loud. Now, you have done something like what Auster did in the end of 'City of Glass'. The protagonist simply vanishes, and that is exactly what you have done to Shepard. Reduced his agency to three meaningless dreams.

I believed in Indoctrination Theory because it made all the sense in the world. It was a clever, ingenious way to end the saga whilst keeping the MP alive and relevant. You have squandered this potential. I do not believe that Shepard is conciously present (nor the writers for that matter) in the three-color ending.

If it were fan-fiction through and through then it tears the whole story and the "artistic integrity" of the development team apart like Harbinger. The point is that artistic integrity more or less is non-existent. The concept is fallacious and I think the many fans that have critized the ending and offered Indoctrination Theory is right in suggesting that the ending is wrought with so many lazy solutions and insoluble logic that is HAS TO BE ABOUT MONEY (which isn't "artistic integrity").

The poor ending has done a lot for the treasury of those responsible. It kept interest alive and cash flows flowing. Now, you have something extremely valuable to make ME4 out of. Unless of course you choose an IMPOSSIBLE CANON ENDING. The other mind problem clearly hypothesises that Control is impossible. The self is unknowable.

You could have made the greatest trilogy, but you failed despite of warnings and friendly reminders. I also do not believe the claims that the fans that want a better ending is a minority. See Clevernoob's FREE youtube channel for more info. The gameplay data might suggest that people haven't abandoned the game, but that is the merit of everything that is outside of the ending like MP and 1-2-3 (up until the beam) SP.

Despite this very, very sad ending I will still consume, and that is what matters to your wallets and your artistic mehtegrity.

To sum upp. The JOURNEY has been brilliant, fun and seductive as hell. The way the narrative ends is just lame. Maybe it is the writers that does not have the infinite wit that is bestowed to its begrudging fanbase (us, the majority).

So long and thanks for all the fish :wizard:

Just finished the DLC. I loved it

The story while silly still was fun. I loked the tone shift.
And as for the 2nd part. Oh the 2nd Part. Just amazing.

The talk between characters is just funny and awesome. The Party was a blast. The other conversations with f.e. Liara playing the piano etc was awesome. What can I say

I rank it among my favs. (Shadow Broker, Kasumi, Overlord, etc. and now Citadel)

Thanks for the DLC.
Playing throught all 3 games and spending time again with the characters just made it worth it.

I loved it, seemed not as combat orientated as the other DLCs but that is what I loved about it. All the different dialog options I hear about are staggering, there seems to be so much depth to just the interactions in this DLC. I have always been a fan of learning more about the universe so the adventure through the archives was for me like a kid in a candy store.. I was so eager to go to the next hologram room that I often ignored the enemies in the room.
I found the main storyline a bit strange... evil clone? alright I will go along with it... but as the story progressed I didn't mind as much.. But overall the strength of the DLC I felt was in the interactions with the crew, bringing up old times, and enjoying the crew that I learned to love.

I can't believe that Bioware screwed us again. The DLC is great but the latest 1.05 patch is causing sound stutter in game for me. I am using the PC digital download version. You ruined my game again Bioware. It seems Origin is trying to authenticate the DLC again and again causing the sound to stutter.

On top of that I can't post this to Mass Effec 3 PC technical support forum. It does not let me, forum requirements are not met. This is stupid. As you can see below my avatar, I own the game!!!

Most honest review I've found, and one that I agree with.

They just embarrassed themselves with this DLC. Most of the inside
joke/referential humor will go over the head of anyone who doesn’t
frequent the BSN. The “quality” of the interaction is groan-worthy. The
DLC misleads the player about the nature of how they’ll get ME2
squadmates back on their squad (it’s just in a simulator, not in any
missions). This DLC is supposed to be a send-off for the series and an
opportunity for everyone to get some more time in with their favorite
bros. What sucks about it is that it’s poorly-written, awkward,
misleading fanpandering backed up by a laughable plot.

To me it just felt out of place. Maybe if these moments of humor and inside jokes were spread out over the course of the whole game instead of all packed into 5 hours it would've sat better with me. But to have this serious game with a pretty dark storyline turn into this lighthearted situation with everyone cracking one-liners just felt awkward to me.

Also, Tali singing? Yikes.

i enjoyed it for the most part.

so many lines were hilarious.. the Javik/Blasto episode is priceless .
Grunt at the party ,
some of the various chit chats of people talking about attacks.. sounded like MP players with their mic turned on. *amused*

the soundtrack is ok but nothing transcendental , but i did like the nostalgic track at the very end as Shep waits for his team watching the Normandy .
Btw a 9ft concert grand with NO pedals? really...
and does Shep really only like listening to vintage XXI Century generic pop ?

the party is funny, and although in the trailer when i saw the photo "NOrmandy" i was 'wtf' , it was just right at the party.
I'm sorry to see the trilogy ending here, there would have been room for a 4th post reaper game.. bu not my call . ;)

i wonder what the devs are feeling also now that it is all over . I know it's a job but this has been a ltr with the ME universe.

I'm halfway through...it's mostly in the details.

How the new character doesn't seem well animated, and her eyes seem like it's gonna pop anytime anytime.

How the other characters were just placed into combat for the sake of it, their animations....

Basically, the story is great, lots of fun, but the production standard was very low. If your normal production level was a level 8, this was a level 4.
