Very well written, great dialogue and I won me as plushie Volus. Only bad point I can't actually buy a plushie Volus in real life :(

God, I would love to own a plushie Volus IRL.  So squeezy!

Overall I liked a lot of Citadel.

At first I felt that this plot was better suited to being in ME2 (perhaps this is the rumored missing Citadel missions that were cut from ME2), mainly because why would someone choose now to try and go after Shepard directly. Giving Shepard some down time and an apartment during the single biggest war in galactic history (furniture shopping, really?) seemed really awkward too, which is why I think it would have been better suited to ME2.

The next bits (the memorial service for Thane, Javik's hilarious drunken comments) were definitely ME3-only and I felt were well done. The party is absolutely hysterical the longer it goes on (I chose the 'renegade' options of making it exciting and then louder).

Also this DLC was bug free unlike the buggy cinematics of Omega though of course there were fewer CGI segments, I didn't miss them.

I did like how Bioware listened to our requests to bring back the squad banter that was loved so much in LotSB while in combat. I took Wrex and Garrus and those two should seriously go on tour with their back and forth! LOL

The twist at the end where you fight a clone of yourself (all the way down to your exact power set) was pretty cool and actually a fairly challenging fight.

Speaking of difficulty, I play ME only on Insanity and this and LotSB were the two hardest DLC's and for that I am very happy.

One of the nice touches is that as you wander around the Silversun district, the ambient dialog by the NPC's constantly mocking the nuances of the multiplayer experience was a riot. At one point an Alliance requesitions officer excited gives a Graal to a Fury who then complains about not being able to just leave all her weapons behind but can't because of Alliance Reg's. (a jab at the fact that you must carry at least 1 weapon into a multiplayer match on every character). And the two guys talking about how ridiculous the N7 Devastator and Destroyer are was a riot also!

Lastly, the Citadel itself recaptured some of that magic that the original had in ME1. Granted, this version of the Citadel looks more closely like a Blade Runner or the recent remake of Total Recall, than the Citadel in ME1, it still allowed an immersion level that made me feel like I was on a futuristic space station.

All in all I think that this was a really well done DLC, it was heavy on the comraderie and lighter on the action, but I think thats a nice change of pace from Omega, which was all gunfights.

My only criticism is that Legion wasn't present anywhere in my initial play through and that the Mordin content isn't easy to find right away (I found it by accident).

If Omega, Leviathan and Citadel had been wrapped together into an 'old school' expansion pack, It probably would have been the single most amazing DLC of any game ever.

I enjoyed it and having little things to do like beating Vega's pullup record, or trying to beat Aria's score in the combat arena are nice touches for replay value.

I haven't seen if any of the events in Citadel are referenced outside of itself (meaning if you talk to Tali or Traynor aboard the Normandy, or Bailey in C-Sec), but if it does, that only adds more good stuff to a really great DLC.

Loved this DLC, absolutely loved it. In my opinion, it's the best one that Bioware has released.

Most honest review I've found, and one that I agree with.

They just embarrassed themselves with this DLC. Most of the inside
joke/referential humor will go over the head of anyone who doesn’t
frequent the BSN. The “quality” of the interaction is groan-worthy. The
DLC misleads the player about the nature of how they’ll get ME2
squadmates back on their squad (it’s just in a simulator, not in any
missions). This DLC is supposed to be a send-off for the series and an
opportunity for everyone to get some more time in with their favorite
bros. What sucks about it is that it’s poorly-written, awkward,
misleading fanpandering backed up by a laughable plot.

To me it just felt out of place. Maybe if these moments of humor and inside jokes were spread out over the course of the whole game instead of all packed into 5 hours it would've sat better with me. But to have this serious game with a pretty dark storyline turn into this lighthearted situation with everyone cracking one-liners just felt awkward to me.

Also, Tali singing? Yikes.

Why is it the most honest? Are other people's opinions that are not in line with this not honest? I think that's unfair. Fine, you didn't like it but there's no need to dismiss reviews that are contrary to yours.

After finishing it, then reloading a few scenes just for the hell of it, I will say the following: this series has had its ups and downs, but in the end (and "end" being something of a key word here), I won't ever forget this trilogy and the hours I spent enjoying it.

The DLC wasn't perfect. Not by a mile. But with all its flaws and acomplishments, a lot of work was put into this.
Thank you.

The Citadel DLC was good i enjoyed it to some extent.
Clone Shepard:to much fighting not much of a story line, also it focused to much on how awesome your team is instead of giving a better story.
The Party(Also the individual missions):Was the best part of the dlc but at the same time it felt like it was supposed to be in the shipped game but that's just me and it would have been perfect if it was after the ending but we can't have it all.
Tali's face:Well you screw up on this one, when we said we wanted to see tali's face we meant a game model not a picture, it really didn't matter to me that it was a photo but at least it would have been nice if you guys did do a little work instead of chop 3 fingers(wrong fingers) and here's tali.
Garrus Family: hell i knew this was impossible before omega but you guys now had a female turian model so you could have you know put garrus sister in the party?
Overall the dlc was average at best, i enjoyed half of it the other was boring or annoying but that aside it would have been better if it was after the ending as right now i have no feelings to do another run using another shepard.
Also i gave you my last chance bioware, first time i have to boycott a company.

What I believe to be honest. Written by someone who isn't a diehard fan of Bioware and doesn't visit the BSN. Since many of the jokes/references/ideas(we want romance dlc!) were from the BSN or what people bring up often. And I don't remember dismissing any reviews?? I'm not ignoring the people who liked it and their opinions.

I'm usually only lurking, but I need to say a big thanks for this DLC. Liked it a lot. The story is fun and entertaining, the party interaction awesome (the more there is the more you care about the characters, and the more enjoyable the experience get for me). I am all about the story and not so much about action (FPS aren't my thing at all), and this is the first time I actually enjoyed the fights rather than waiting for it to be over to move on with the story, and this is thanks to the party banter during it.

Easily the most powerful DLC I have ever played.

The story was brilliant. The humour had me laughing the whole way through, despite the often serious nature of the mission. The antagonist had me mindf****d, but knowing that with the twisted way Cerberus operated, that this was entirely possible and fitted in spectacularly with the whole setup.

The party at the end was the most fitting send-off I could ever have dreamt of. To have my whole squad there, laughing at Tali's alcoholism, Garrus and Zaeed doing what they do best, and the constant "Shepard", "Shepard!", "Shepard...." of Wrex and Grunt had me laughing to no end.

And the end message, it was more than just Liara and Shepard saying "We've come so far", but knowing that it was the whole team at Bioware saying thanks, and being able to be part of the ride the whole way, was easily the most moving and amazing experience I've ever had in a game.

So Thank You Bioware, for the amazing journey you have taken us on. Here's to the last 6 years, and Here's to the next journey you take us on.

I thought it was absolutely amazing and very thoughtful towards the fan base! I personally regard the Citadel as the best DLC in the entire trilogy. Lair of the Shadow Broker held that title for the longest time. I was actually planning to buy the DLC at a much later date, but when I saw the promotional image with Miranda (she is my Shepard's LI) and the trailer.... I positively flipped and decided to get it during launch date.

I was scared that ME2 squad members won't have enough time like in the main ME3 game. However, I was pleasantly surprised since I ended up being really, really satisfied with the Miranda content in the DLC. For once, she didnt talk about her perfunctory rant about Cerberus, her father, Oriana, or that blasted control chip. It was as if I was talking to her again back in ME2. When ME3 came out, I didn't hate the ending. I just thought that it needed more content for closure. Extended Cut helped to do that, but Citadel sealed the deal for me. I truly felt that no one was neglected in the game even for my dead characters Thane and Mordin as they had more than enough content. Of course, there's the exception of of Morinth, Kelly and Legion but that didnt matter to me (I know their fans might be upset). Another great aspect was seeing the Normandy team as one. My first BioWare game was ME2, and I felt like they were sort of excluded in ME3 but this DLC fixed that. My only minor gripe would have to be that the ME2 squad members couldn't be part of the main story mission in the DLC even in some small capacity. You could say that its hard cause Miranda and Jack can be killed in ME2 for example, but so can Wrex. However, even with that I am still really really happy with this DLC.

As for the main plot, it's not the most original plot in the world but I enjoyed battling Shepard's clone. I think people should give it a break, it's not trying to be Inception after all. I kind of had this wish that the clone could be a squad mate or just be a character I can talk to in the Normandy haha Anyway, thanks for listening to our feedback

I miss Wrex

I was enjoying this DLC up until it came to the time of the party that was just a waste of time for me.

Nothing was added for me. To me it was just a copy and paste job of the Mass Effect 1 DLC Pinnacle Station.

What was the dark secret of the Citadel?
Who or What is Brooks?
Why does Brooks have a BAD English accent?
Isn't it more Cerberus secret?

For me the mission in this DLC was way too short. This mission should have been longer and more to do in it, to me 1200 MS Points and 4 gigabytes is a waste of money and disk space.

IF this was the end of the DLC for Mass Effect 3 then it a disappointing end to a disappointing game, which is a disappointing end to end what was once a greate series,

Still NO NEW ENDING.

That's explained in the DLC. Afterwards Miranda will tell you some stuff too.

haven''t seen Miranda in it yet

Citadel DLC is a stinky cheesy TV episode of normady : high school days, an obvious post ending victory DLC shoved up in the middle of the game with one liners and references that took that side of me that admired the sophistication and touch Bioware was known about in their stories and broke it down to dust. Im talking now to any of the genius and fabulous writers from ME1 and ME2, the ones that built this beautiful world : Why you let this happen, why you let them kill mass effect with non-sense. Was it arrogance ? so unfortunate.

In this DLC they took my beloved comander shepard and turned her into a partying ******, who doesnt care about the ongoing reaper war or the reapers, a shamelest fanservice fest with Shepard and crew taking part on a script more worthy of charlies angels. Talking about an impostor shepard.

Time to leave ME behind, the awkening never arrived, the nonsense prevails, and Bioware have new "improved" fans with less demanding quality.

QFTT

Could not say it better myself. DLC is totally completely out of ME3 story, has nothing to do with the characters in ME3 and a totally mood killer for the game. Would look more or less on in place should you make it "post-SM ME2 DLC". But as it is - no, this is a pure nightmare.

Certainly the best DLC for a Mass Effect game ever. Hell , for me , it's even up there in the list of top pieces of DLC I ever played . The writing is great and very hilarious with a lot of little fan service details I enjoyed a lot. Story is solid as well. Totally didn't see those plot twists coming. In many ways I feel like this is the ultimate DLC in the ME series : bringing all characters in one place for one final mission and then some .

Not great DLC mission wise, but a nice goodbye for the fans. That's what makes it so bittersweet to realise its not post ending DLC, it just as well could have been.

Emotionally this DLC will get a 7/10
Overall ill give it a 5.5/10

Might sound lower then all those fanboys give it, but im being reasonable. I actually liked the banter back and forth and a chance to have a nice time with my squad. So thanks bioware for this DLC.

I have to retract my critical statements from earlier. I shouldn't have based my judgment on a hurried playthrough and one YT video of a scene I couldn't find.

This is really sweet and a fitting farewell. As over-the-top as the clone story is, it nonetheless fits in the ME universe, and the R&R part is a final homage to the characters we've all spent so much time with...and to the fans.

Thank you for making this, Bioware. I also think I owe Jay W an apology. I didn't get everything I wanted but what's there works really well.

I don't think I can compare this DLC with any other story DLC. As a story, I still find Leviathan, Omega and LotSB more compelling but I don't think Citadel DLC was intended to compete with these. It wouldn't have worked at any other time.

Edit:
To those who say the tone doesn't fit the rest of the game: No, it doesn't, and yes, some of the writing is cheesy, sometimes groan-worthy, and all the little moments that work well for themselves feel out of place when compressed into one sequence. But it doesn't matter. This wasn't a "serious" DLC, and it was never intended to fit as seamlessly into the story as the other SP DLC. It's a nostalgic send-off with just anchoring in the universe to make us get into it again. As such, I does well.

Thanks BioWare! The whole DLC was a pure treat for a fan like me whose favorite part of Mass Effect is the characters and relationships. It was great to see that element of the series take center stage in a huge way, finally. I think the mission itself maybe went a little TOO heavy on the cheesy wisecracks, especially at the very beginning, but that got better as it went on.

OVERALL:
Overall, Citadel was fantastic, loved most of it. Great job and thank you everyone who worked on it. I've been hoping for a character-focused DLC like this since ME3 released, and you guys sure delivered.

GOOD:
It's really impressive how varied the reunions part can get with different Shepards and choices. So far tried it with dudeshep romancing Tali and femshep romancing Samantha. Samantha was very well written, love the little differences in her reaction to the "clone" if she is a LI, and her interactions with EDI and Tali after a few drinks during the party. From what I've seen, Miranda is pleasantly well done as well. And Joker, EDI, Liara, Garrus, both Krogan, Zaeed, Kasumi, Ashley, Samara - all 'adding to the fun' parts. Moments of remembering Thane seemed appropriate and sad. Still have yet to check out Jack and Kaidan in a save where they're alive. Javik is using the word "primitives" way too often, but then we all already knew he is a ****** - so nothing new there.

I also like the new character of the turncoat villanous sidekick Brooks, she ends up being a memorable and even likeable opponent.

NOT QUITE SO GOOD:
I'm on the fence about the plot in the mission part of the DLC - the whole "clone" idea seems kind of cheesy and out-of-place in the context of ME story. Thankfully, it presents itself with enough self-irony and humor to make this bearable.

Also sure wish I could UNhear Tali's singing - I'm guessing that part was intended to be funny, but it came out just ... awkward.

Why did you guys completely ignore Kelly? She could have come. Nevermind the fact she was in hiding, it seems mean spirited to use that as an excuse to not invite her... especially if you romanced her.
Even the Thane-mancers got a bone in this.

I was not sure about this dlc, probably because Omega dissapointed me a little bit for 1200 MicroP and i was not zombified by the trailer the day before, but i gived it a try and i must say= I Loved the DLC.

From the story, to the humour, to multiplayer references, to Blasto and other characters cameos to of course the ARENA (finally something to do after finishing the game). Big size dlc like all of them should be; bringing back old squadies(good work) and developing the relationship with squadmembers more. Main plot/story wise i loved the "misterious figure" backstory-motivations and being able to explore some of citadels exclusive (only spectres) places and watch some unseen and interesting key moment holograms.

The only thing I miss, is some planetary exploration, like ME1, being able to land, explore, fight the fauna and climate hazards or collect ancient technology (and being able to land whenever i want again to fight the local creatures etc ).

great work, perfect for ME3 and you DEVS working on ME4 this is the right path to follow,(but of course included in the disc since day 1! leave DLCs to develop extra side missions(like bring down the sky in ME1 or Overlord in ME2) but story fundamentals like squad relationship development, plotkey characters(Javik, and the Leviathans-creators of the reapers), exploration and even the Arena feature should be available since day 1)

I think some of the animations were kinda off, like when you went to the fancy casino party during the plot missions and Shepard looked like he was a puppet from Team America walking down the red carpet.

Loved the arena. I only started playing the Multiplayer because I liked the combat mechanics in the SP but there was no way to prolong battles with more enemies in the game, just the shooting range which didn't involve killing pixels.

This DLC kinda feels like what the extended cut could have been if the Citadel DLC were placed after the end instead of sometime before the final push. The dialogue from teammates and random people banter in the new area makes me happy and laugh though, which is the purpose for paying for entertainment.
