What can they really do? A brand new saga with the same characters would seem forced and the quality of the story would suffer for it. The only way I can see us getting more out of these characters if if they either add more dlc, or make a spin off title that is of a different tone than the trilogy.SUPERF0RCE wrote...

Last line of the DLC sums it up: "The best."
I really wish this wasn't the last SP DLC or the last time we saw Shep.
I have a question for the folks that made the dlc possible, what is it that you most wanted to acheive with this dlc?
Im curious because with all this talk about finality, the dlc just made me feel more attached to the characters, it has universally left people wanting more Would you rather the fans just accept it as a heartfelt goodbye or is there a potential for more of Shep and the Normandy crew?
Even the chronic ending haters are not tired of the characters themselves but is Bioware still in love with them after the release of their finest work? Why part ways now?

My only complaint is an impossible obvious desire for it to be much longer. But then, I'd be really happy if every bit of ME DLC was another 35 hrs of gameplay.
I'm genuinely sad it's all come to an end. The Mass Effect saga is my one of my favourite entertainment experiences to date, right up there with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings etc. Yes I've had gripes but they've been utterly outweighed by the fun I've had, how absorbed I've been in the story and how much I've loved the characters. After all, my other favourites also have their problems.
I'll be playing again, no doubt, but I'm still misty-eyed about Shepard's story being over. Thanks so much Bioware.

I was one of those whiny fans who were disappointed with the ending. However, after the "extended cut" and this DLC, I don't have any right to complain. This DLC was specifically made for fans. You have a satisfied customer for life.
PS. about the multilayer characters making the funny comments in the Silversun Strip. whoever came up with the idea deserves a raise.

This DLC is easily the most enjoyable one I've played in the series.
I'ts like a game developer's equivalent of make-up sex with the fanbase.

the constant banter and hilarious facial expressions won me over within about 20 minutes. and having so much of the DLC not affiliated with shooting something was sorely needed, and restored some of my faith in the company. Not all of it, the endings still hurt too much for that; But i can now play ME3 with a smile again.
Thank you bioware, you gave me back a little hope!

From the moment Wrex surplexed the Shuttle. Love. While the story is certainly a slice of cheese and then some, it surprisingly works. Brooks is comically stupid and likable even if extremely predictable in the betrayal twist and perhaps I am alone in this, but I felt the clone plot could have believably replaced Kai Leng and brought the Lazarus Project into relevance a bit, with some finessing. But I digress.
The near constant banter, witty dialogue and overall character interaction were phenomenal, although some could have used a bit more length, in particular the romance scenes. Those are relatively minor gripes when held against the overwhelming positives. Were I completely honest. my motivation for the series had somewhat... waned. I intended to complete a few more files but for the first time in quite a while, I can truly say I am brought back into the world; calls it rose colored glasses or what but I don't care.
Just to touch on a few highlights.
Wrex.
Kaidan completely wins life for his joke during the romance sequence.
Garrus... never have I wanted to start a file faster than after having watched his romance. Good god, Garrus. Between the awkwardness of Shepard and the overall animation of both dances. That was cute, almost teary eye - just... impressive. (Shut up and leave me to my puns. I'm happy)
I could go on but the majority has already spoken. Citadel DLC was a fan service love letter and a wonderful one at that. For someone as highly critical as I have been. What I say below is not something I pictured doing any time some but... BioWare
Bravo.
PS: For the love of god, stick to characters and their stories - simplicity and fineness. That is your strong point by far. Run with it and never look back.

But in all seriousness now, this was an amazing DLC worth every penny in my eyes. TO see my old Crew..was great, and so sad that this moment couldn't last forever. I started the mission right before the attack on illusive man's base, my romance was Liara ( though now i wish it was Miranda, i shall replay the game again to make it so), the only member that died for me was Jack in ME2, and i left it like that. Kinda wanted to death to have substance and stick, as hard as it was to leave her dead. Other then that just having everyone around and enjoying everyone's company left me feeling so happy, and sad knowing this is the end. When Liara came up to me and said "its been a good ride, and Shepard responds with the best" i lost it and broke down. Bravo bioware, Thank you for createing the best game series i ever played. I cant wait for ME4, but i will always miss my crew, and friends.

This is my last post on BSN. I loved the saga for years, I support the indoctrination theory, and my Shepard is waking up in London with the reapers out there, leaving me in a cliffhanger nightmare I can never wake up from, this is my punishment for trusting Bioware writers and getting engaged in this story.
Citadel DLC is a stinky cheesy TV episode of normady : high school days, an obvious post ending victory DLC shoved up in the middle of the game with one liners and references that took that side of me that admired the sophistication and touch Bioware was known about in their stories and broke it down to dust. Im talking now to any of the genius and fabulous writers from ME1 and ME2, the ones that built this beautiful world : Why you let this happen, why you let them kill mass effect with non-sense. Was it arrogance ? so unfortunate.
In this DLC they took my beloved comander shepard and turned her into a partying ******, who doesnt care about the ongoing reaper war or the reapers, a shamelest fanservice fest with Shepard and crew taking part on a script more worthy of charlies angels. Talking about an impostor shepard.
Time to leave ME behind, the awkening never arrived, the nonsense prevails, and Bioware have new "improved" fans with less demanding quality.
Good luck bioware, you are going to need it.
Goodbye, so long, and thanks for all the fish! Someone sure lacks a sense of humor - but hey, at least you'll have plenty of time to go find one once you leave!
Personally, I loved everything about the Citadel DLC. It had a lot of banter, jokes, dialogue, and Easter eggs that I enjoyed. I thought it was a nice counterpoint to the darkness of the overall story, and I was, in fact, laughing my butt off when I found the Ark of the Covenant in the archives. I think one of the highlights for me in the humor department was walking onto the set of the Blasto movie with Javik and ending up participating in the filming! It was hilarious and sort of a dream come true (loved the one-upmanship with Blasto, etc.).
I found spending downtime with my comrades to be a lot of fun. I loved chatting with my squaddies and seeing a different side of them during both their visits AND during the party. And since I do have a sense of humor, I actually found it quite amusing to chat with all my squaddies as they became progressively drunker throughout the night of the party.
What I was pleasantly surprised by was that there was a moment after the party almost made me break out the Kleenex. found Mordin's recording the very next morning. At first, I was laughing because of the humorous songs and Mordin's appearance on a chidlren's science show (along with that noire parody - hehe). But right at the very end, Mordin sang a few lines that were utterly serious and that were quite touching. I got a bit teary at that.

I play my Shep largely paragon, and always prefer paragon choices, but why do I find making renegade choices in this DLC feels so...er...
GOOD?! Yeah, G~O~O~D!!
Right, this playthrough I did it with a lesbian femshep, and because the clone was so b*t*hy, taking renegade choices has never felt this good! Yes, I trash talk the clone at the archive, kick the clone off Normandy, and shot that Brook at the first opportunity, and it put a big grin on my face!
Also, this DLC probably got all the ME3 humor bits because all those dialogues keeps you laughing...probably because this is the last one, Bioware push the humor boat out on this one...
Lastly, Blasto...I got a spidy feeling that it got cheesy written all over it, and I was right...in the future, cheesy B-movies = blockbuster? What universe is that? Reapers is the evil necessity to rid the universe of such abject misery.

I don't think I've felt as happy as when I started catching up with every squad member I've played throughout this long trilogy. It was really heartwarming and I shed a tear at a few scenes (Thane's memorial being one of the examples). The party idea was simply brilliant and it really shows that you guys put all the effort into making this final part of the dlc very well worth the time and journey I (we), Mass Effect fans, have gone through all these years.
Also, I would like to note all the jokes had me lmao multiple times. Ah, such good times. So many of those to speak of the top of my head, really fantastic job!
I'm sad to know that we won't see future adventures with Shepard, but this was one hell of a send off.

I think Bioware first wanted to use evil Shepard clone instead of Kai Leng as the big villain of the game but then they ditched the idea... A lost potential there. And here is my alternative ME3 ending scenario:
If we could board Harbinger and fought evil clone Shepard there... If we could destroy Harbinger's mass effect core, if we had gone to the Crucible before Harbinger plunges into Earth atmosphere, if we could see the Illusive Man becoming a Saren like cyber-monster there (when he fails to indoctrinate us with charm), if we could learn that the Illusive Man was under Harbinger's control... That would be awesome.
And when Starchild appears after the death of Illusive Man, AND if we have low readiness the standard endings would occur (green, red, blue).
If we had high readiness instead Harbinger would be revealed as Starchild and we would learn that before Harbinger's ship's destruction, Harbinger had transferred its counsciousness to the Crucible to indoctrinate us for the 3 standard endings.
If we had high Paragon or Renegade than we would not only be able to kill the Starchild/Harbinger, but also with Destroy choice EDI and Geth would survive... Then Control choice could be a benign control and Shepard could survive Synthesis for the people wishing to choose that option.
With low readiness Harbinger could indoctrinate us for Control Reaper dictatorship... Or harvest us with a Pseudo Synthesis...
Then we would have no problems with this a, b, c ending. Hopefully years from now some modder will be able to make these changes.

For me, it's the quality time spent with the squadmates that made this experience so enjoyable! This is really the next best thing to actually changing the ending (which I understand is infeasible).
I initially had very low expectation for Citadel because I was thoroughly bored and disappointed by Omega. Then, it turned out to be my favorite DLC in the entire ME series (I only wish it was longer!). It is not an overstatement to say that the Citadel DLC earned back my trust for BioWare. Looking forward to playing your next game!

I absolutely loved every minute of it. Great content for my favourite squadmates, a lot of banter, good music and loads of funny moments.
The main plot was decent and plausible, but not superb by any means. It was pretty obvious that something is off with Brooks, although when I met a clone that was certainly unexpected. But who cares about the main plot that much, as long as you have those great squdmates with you? They were the ones who made the series for me and the main reason I bought this DLC, and you certainly delivered in that department.
The gamplay was pretty challenging at first, I died a nuber of times before I got to Brooks in the beginning. But then i got used to it and it also provided a lot of fun. M7 Lancer is absolutely awesome, but seems somewhat overpowered.
The boss fight with the clone was the best in the trilogy in my opinion, it tops even the one with shadow broker. One more thing is that this dlc felt extremely polished(unlike Omega), i havent encoutered any severe bugs in my two playthroughs of it. Looks like you payed attention to every single minor detail and that also adds to the enjoyment. Those are the key great things in that dlc, but there is so much more of them, I can't possibly mention everything.
Now the drawbacks. Nothing big there for me really since I've got what I came for. But still the scene of the Normandy flying over the Citadel, shooting and hitting buildings felt a bit over the top. Also, characters with a number of missions in their story acrs(eg Tali, Miranda) should've been made available after the first one. For example I started my first playthrogh with my Talimancer Shep after talking to the quarians, but before completing the Rannoch arc. So she was available for the missions but not for the party. I know i can throw it later, and after Rannoch seems like a great time to do it, but still. This is getting somewhat worse when it comes to Miranda since she won't be unavailable for the party until after Horizon, but It does not seem right to go and have fun after it.
And one more thing. This DLC made me feel a bit more sad about the ending of the game. I didn't like it but I was never that bitter about it in the first place, since I started my full trilogy playthrough after ME3 was already out, and generally came to see what all this ending fuss is about, didn't spoil myself, but knew something "bad" is going to happen. Still happy that I did it, I would've never known what a great trilogy it is otherwise. But after playing such a great dlc heading towards the ending feels worse. Or maybe it's just me understanding that now this great "ride" is really over.
That's pretty much everything I have to say about this dlc. You really did make the trilogy go out with a bang, and shown what you are really capable of, I only hope we can see that in the upcoming games. Thank you Bioware for such a great games these three really were in many ways. Keep it up.
"We've had a good ride"

The whole thing feels like one of those comedy episodes of the X Files. It sticks to the lore and doesn't stray too far from the norm to be completely outlandish, but it doesn't feel like part of the canon Mass Effect story. I can't even imagine how this thing will sit while playing through Mass Effect 3. I would imagine it works best as the final mission before the final mission. A last moment together before going into the unknown.
The banter between the characters is really good, and even if it does stray a little too close to breaking point with the meta [in a lift: "Hey, anyone wanna talk about their species history? No? Was I the only person who used to enjoy our chats on the Citadel elevators?"] it does it with just the right amount of love and honesty to let them get away with it.
Overall, it's totally uneven, badly paced, borderline stupid, but ultimately charming and I loved it. At times it really made me wish that the combat mission had been omitted entirely, and they'd concentrated just on the party aspect of the DLC since that was done so well. But it still delivers on the promise to give Shepard a proper send-off after the ending of the main game, and it manages to bring some humour into a story that was mostly lacking it.
I think some will find the meta and the in joking a bit too much, and while I would agree to some extent, I let it go because it did make me laugh, and I enjoyed it because I love the lore and got all the references. It's fan service taken almost to its elastic limit, and while it's a seriously bumpy ride, and a lot less focussed than some of the other DLC, ultimately I found it a lot more satisfying. It's easily the best of the ME3 DLC, and it about justifies the eyebrow raising price tag.
The only real disappointment of the download for me was that we didn't get to see the face of Tali. The picture reveal in the main game was so sloppy, and I really though we might get to see the Quarian in this final DLC. Sad that we didn't and all we have is that awful, photoshopped picture from google image search.
But all in all it's a couple of minor gripes against an awful lot of good feelings. The party aspect of the DLC was excellent, and seeing the crew from ME2 (the best of the trilogy, for me) together with the rest having a good time was really nice and at times quite touching. While I was playing it all I could think was how the party could have actually served as the ending of the game. With the Reapers defeated, Shepard and his crew having a party to celebrate. It would have been a novel post-ending bit of gameplay that really put the tin hat on the series.
But still. Fair play to Bioware for this one. I was very critical of Omega and the ridiculous price tag for the content offered, but this is how DLC should be done. It offers something the main game doesn't, and while the price tag is still a bit hefty (£12 here, while Mass Effect 3 currently retails for £16) I'm okay with it because it made me feel something. Cheers for that.
