Respectfully, it's just my opinion. Sorry for my poor english.
The DLC….well, it's bittersweet; on the good hand, it's a last ride (maybe too out of tone with the rest of the game…breaks inmersion too much) with most of the characters, to whom we've build a tremendous love this years.
But, the bitter part…. it's how bitter this DLC makes now the ending of the game. This DLC makes us to care deeper (if that is possible, after this years of gamin' with him/her) about Commander Shepard, and his crew. And at the end, Shepard always dies, or if he lives, is at the cost of any of our comrades. I'm a big defender of Destroy, but this DLC makes strongest the love/care for EDI, and the rest of them.
The music, the Mass Effect theme on piano…. the last ride… the "it's gone be allright"…. it's precisely the farewell to Commander Shepard that some of us wanted at the end of the game. Some of us wanted it for a long year now. Even as an option, along with the other three choices at the end. When we can really, with a maximum effort, with single&multiplayer assets maybe, really defeat the Reapers, without voluntarily sacrifice Commander Shepard or any of our comrades, with an aftermath when we see clearly that we have success. When Shepard is clearly alive and can goin' on with their lives on the galaxy.
¿Why are you so attached to the original endings, that you can't bring us that last option? Maybe we will never know. Maybe the answer will be in the next game…Maybe there were another reasons… Who knows.
I know that you and all the ME staff are right now deciding the future of the saga…precuel, sequel…whatever…. but please, take in consideration that the success of Mass Effect is in great part the characters. Characters we have loved deeply, and maked us identify with them. If the saga will be a new beginning from zero…. well, I don't know if that will work as well as the character of Commander Shepard and his crew did. It's a rich universe, but….I don't know.
Please… respect the characters we care about. That IS (in my opinion) the best of Mass Effect.
Best Regards, Chris, BSN, from Madrid, Spain.

Nice letter! But, I think Bioware "gets it" now. The Citadel is a step in the right direction and if they iterate and improve on the themes of friendship/family/story/gameplay/character focus, Bioware's got my money for life. I, for one, look forward to Bioware's future games. No - I hate the endings. But, its ok. Nothing to do about it now. But, Citadel: Shore Leave is a good redeemer. It's a gift. (yes, we paid for it! ), but I'm so happy it was done.
Try to find happiness. It's easy to do and so much better than depression. Forget those bleak endings. Headcannon what you want, and most important, look forward to the future of Mass Effect. I am.

First off, Silversun Strip is amazing. It's the first time I've really felt like the wards were exciting, and I just really enjoyed the ambiance, aesthetics, and everything. Plus, it felt crowded in a way that the Citadel never has before (except the refugee camp, but that's sort of depressing). We've heard a lot of talk over the course of the series that there's always something cool, exciting, or interesting going on in the wards, but this is the first time I've believed it.
Second, loved Wrex. It just felt good having him in my squad again. Didn't much care for his skills, since he got some lame limited multiplayer skill (I do not play multiplayer, nor do I care anything about it) instead of something useful, but he was still a wrecking ball with a shotgun and blade attachment.
Loved the Lancer. Great gun, and an excellent callback to the early ME weapons. In fact, all the callbacks in this DLC were great. Serious nostalgia overload, in a good way.
Squad dialogue was great. Our crew has always interacted with Shepard, but it's awesome to see them interacting with each other in a team dynamic. This sort of inclusiveness for the whole squad is exactly what I love. Plus, the whole thing was non-stop hilarity. The only time I wasn't grinning, I was laughing. The whole Ahem-Ahem-Ahem-Ahem thing with the volus pizza guy just slew me. On the more dramatic side, the whole Anderson biography thing in the apartment was an excellent insight into the character.
I even liked the clone plot. Sure, it's been done, but so has 'space marine saves the galaxy'. It's all about how it gets done, and this got done right. And the boss fight was pretty good. Brooks had me fooled until I accidentally spoiled myself by reading the wrong forum post.
There were things I didn't like, too, of course. I absolutely hated the new armor added through the Arena, since it was a cool armor, with a choice of great bonuses, but for some reason, had the Cerberus skin. I really do not understand that decision, especially as the N7 version already exists in multiplayer. We've got more Cerberus branded gear now than when we worked for them. In a related, but less vehement, complaint, I didn't like that we didn't get to keep the fancy tux as a new casual outfit, like we did in Kasumi's loyalty mission in ME2. I'm pretty sure everybody who played that was expecting to get to keep the fancy duds. So, kinda disappointed.
Also, the ambient dialogue in the Silversun Strip was just way too meta for me. I don't play multiplayer. I'd really prefer for it to not exist as far as my single player campaign goes. And hearing in-game, IC comments from NPCs referring to game mechanics by name (cooldown times, multiplayer objectives, common player strategies) really throws immersion out the window. Sometimes, I was sort of turned off by the beyond-blatant pandering, like Blasto's appearance, or the names on the Arena scoreboard.
But other than those two mostly minor complaints, I loved it.

I am not judging people who enjoyed it, I just hope people realise that they are voting with their wallet, next thing you know you first have to pay for having the right to download a game and play the first part , then if you are willing to pay for it can download and play the middle part and the same for the last part...which is open ended or ends with a cliffhanger...then you can buy some DLC, you hope that it explains the ending, but it doesn't you just go to some space station to help a side character.
Then they release a pack for multiplayer, then a piece of paid for DLC that explains more about something that should have been in the main story ...and so on and so on.
I honestly don't mind the fact that companies charge money for a full quality product, but this DLC business is getting out of hand.
I am also getting a bit tired of the same corporate explanation ( we need money to make a quality product) that get's out each time there is a remark or complaint.
I recently finished the witcher 2, everything I needed to know or experience was in the game, the game looked absolutely gorgeous, gameplay is challenging, it wasn't perfect but the mistakes made were easily forgiveable.
I recently downloaded the MEHEM patch and started playing ME3 again and was disappointed in the quality of level desig, textures, gameplay that I quite again.
It is sad that:
-A- A or some hobbyist(s) create a better ending than highly paid "pros" ( refering to the MEHEM ending)
-B- A polish studio who are not as big as Bioware nor have the same budgets/resources are able to make a better game

I agree, the designers are a bit too obsessed with Cerberus weapons and armour.
I would have liked some more N7 armour (& parts) or some spectre armour.
I love this DLC though, its probably the best dlc (of any game) I've played recently. It actually makes me want to replay the game again.
It's a shame that this is the last piece of content for the Mass Effect trillogy. I was kinda hoping for more time with my Shepard (and his/her crew) in more dlc
I have to say this though it was well worth the £12 I spent on it and I hope future DLC content lives up to (and surpasses) this dlc.

Commander Background: Earthborn; Sole Survivor; Soldier class
Difficulty: Hardcore
Love Interest: Ashley (throughout trilogy)
Opinion on Ending: Acceptable (at least with the EC installed)
I have to say that this is the best DLC I have ever played. It has something for everyone, whether it's a new adventure, combat, fan service, mini games, or character development, and I enjoyed them all. The slapstick/comical nature of some of the scenes initially took my by surprise, but I wound up really enjoying them, especially during the party you throw at the end of the DLC. I'm still testing out some aspects of the DLC (specifically the combat arena), but so far I've had a ton of fun.
Pros:
--More character development (I loved the invite/meet-up scenes)! Ashley's "date" scene isn't really a romance scene, which is somewhat of a disappointment, but in retrospect it probably fits her character (of all the romances except Samara she plays the hardest-to-get). Further, some characters allegedly lacking in personality (i.e. Jacob, although I never disliked Jacob as much as most people) are actually developed, which was nice. I will say up front that out of all the ME2 squadmates, Miranda and Jack are given the most extended treatment.
--An EXCELLENT adventure lasting several hours with a pleasantly challenging (without being cheap) boss fight that took me several tries and that had some interesting mechanics. Speaking of mechanics, many parts of the adventure are original and not combat focused. In particular, I LOVED the casino adventure.
--The Apartment. It makes for a great hangout and the party scene was fantastic. I must have spent at least 1.5 hours walking around and mingling with the guests across all 4-5 stages of the party
--Mini Games. I'm still playing through some of them for the first time but the have been a lot of fun, and can give you some really good prizes. It is, however, hard to figure out how to quit some of the games (specifically the blackjack one). I couldn't figure out how to exit the game and was forced to reload a save.
--Weapons/Gear: The Lancer is back!!!! Along with some other really cool weapons/mods. The stealth pistol was nice, but I didn't really feel the silencer worked (at least in the initial scenes where you use it)
--Squadmates: Wrex is back!! (at least for the duration of the expansion), and you can fight alongside ALL your then-living squadmates (except maybe Mordin?) in the combat arena. Most of their power assignments are good, and in any event, it provides a continued means of "hanging out" with characters until you decide to hit Cronos Station.
--Music: spectacular, especially the music that plays at the end of the adventure
--The moments: Many a manly tear was shed at several moments of this expansion. The end of the adventure (reboarding of the Normandy) and the kodak moment at the end of the party were, in particular, quite touching.
Cons:
--I wish some characters, like Ashley, were developed a bit further
--Some characters, like Doctor Chakwas, Ken, Gabby and Adams aren't there, but for Doctor Chakwas at least an explanation is given. Given Adams guilt at not being able to be there for the Normandy in Mass Effect 2, I expected him to make some kind of appearance.
--The rampage through the Citadel archives was a lot of fun, but I feel like the devs missed opportunities to develop the place more. Although you could watch several pieces of archival footage, I felt like more lore can/should have been discoverable there.
The flaws are minor. I can safely say I will be replaying Mass Effect 3 JUST to see how a different playthrough changes events in this particular DLC. Props to Bioware for producing another amazing masterpiece.

I like this DLC, at least it is better than Omega.
However, the party will be more make sense if it's a victory party, after beating Reapers and all / most crew survive, isn't it?
In my opinions, BioWare you finally made a perfect ending players wanted, you just did not acknowledge it is the original ending should be.
If the timeline got some modified, and the beginning of the DLC is "after the war is over, Reapers are gone and Anderson is sarcificed, according to his will, he left this apartment to Shepard", and then the story begins....then the DLC is 10/10 to me.
This is basically how I have head cannoned it....although I shouldn't have to..

Was really hoping to save clone... imagine having 2 shepards and another squad mate, that would be EPIC!!
The tattoo scene with Jack led me to believe it revealed something about the ending, maybe? As Jack says the tattoo would help her find Shepard if he was buried under rubble (coincidence??)
Not the best piece of dlc, but it was OK
IMO - 6.5/10

Getting to invite the squadmates up to Shepard's apartment was fun as well (and the party), the only downside was when it was all over since the apartment felt a bit empty afterwards. For a moment it looked like the DLC was going to show Tali's face..., but, I guess not.

I'll be honest with you. (People will think I'm stupid for that, but I just don't care...)
At first, I didn't like Mass Effect. When the first game came out, my friend (PC player) told me to buy ME, cause it was amazing, shooter and RPG together and I was like... "Nah, I don't like space games, I don't have a xbox, and my pc isn't good enough". So, was it.
With ME2, he, again, tried to convince me to play and then I denied.
ME3. Oh, it was different this time. He showed me the ME Multiplayer first and I was like " Wow, this is great. I want to play that." and he told me it was Mass Effect. You can imagine my face when I heard.... So, that's right. I started to play ME3 because of the Multiplayer! I bought ME2 and 3 (Playstation player), and this past year, 1. Can you believe it? Cause that's the true story! Until today I thanks my friend to be persistent and introduce me in this AMAZING Universe, even with these endings!
So, that said... I just want to thank you for this amazing DLC. I'm impressed! Really! It was worthwhile! I'll play all the trilogy again and again! It was great to see all the crew interactions, the old characters, locations, jokes, music.. ah.. It's awesome, a great way to finish this trilogy. If it was post-ending, it'd be perfect!
Thank you, Bioware!
