I got the Star Trek vibe that I used to get during ME2(and a couple occasions in ME1), I also enjoy the combat arena(almost a holo-deck, awesome). Though I do wish you could play chess, or that game that Traynor enters a tournament for.

That was my best case desire, other than that I got nearly everything I wanted to see, drunk Tali, more femshep and Garrus love, awesome talks with my crewmates, etc. And there were lots of surprises, still finding surprises. I really didn't want this to be the end, but it is...and at least we got something beautiful to remember them by.

Pros: I enjoyed the nostalgia trip and the squad mate interaction that helped make these characters so special and actually getting to spend time with my LI. This game has been as much about camaraderie as it has been the reaper war. I also enjoyed the minigames offered, especially being able to use previous squad mates in the arena.
Cons: While you were very clear this wouldn't affect the endgame, I was expecting my squad mates to remember our time on the citadel during our goodbyes on Earth. I felt it was glaring that Miranda showed no memory of our discussions and most of my other ME2 squad mates I talked to acted like we had not spoken since the end of their story arc/mission. I also felt that you had to play it just before Cronos station to get the fullest enjoyment out of it. I realize its not practical to be able to go on leave as much as you want, whenever you want during wartime so it's a realtively minor complaint on my part. Also, the clone could have been improved by a sinister mustache.
Overall I don't think a better idea could have been picked. I dislike other folks complaining about a party being had in the middle of wartime. Having held a command in Iraq I know how critical leave is to morale. Considering how many years Shep and company have been at this I'd say leave was long overdue. Keep up the good work guys.

Pros: Loved the nostalgia trip, appreciated the in-jokes when they were subtly done. I though the whole new area was great and wish the game had launched with that kind of Citadel interactivity. That's *precisely* how envisioned interacting with the Citadel after ME1 and I hope future ME games add that kind of Shenmue-like depth into the experience. The best part of the DLC? The character beats, of course. The combat is about 1/10 of the fun for me in this game and the roleplaying elements are what I show up for. Citadel had a lot of that, and I'm happy for it.
Cons: Some of the in-jokes were a bit too on the nose. And, as I've written elsewhere, as a Kelly Chambers LI type, we were left totally in the cold on this DLC. The worst was when James asked why my Shepard was still "single". Sigh. DLC Hopes = dashed. Also, I'll agree with others who said that it would be nice to be able to call up your LIs ME2 style. If you ever think about adding that in...feel free to add Kelly! :-)
Biggest props: the loop dialogue work by the writers and VO actors. It was great being in one part of the apartment and hearing the snippets from the other parts. Subtle, but brilliant work. Bravo.

So back to the DLC:
Pros:
I thought that this content was really really great
Of course in this case someone is trying to take out Shepard, I started looking at the DLC as a relaxing time going bad and started to enjoy it, so it started making sense, as the funny parts came out I got even more relaxed and was having a lot of fun. The character interactions are just great, that is the real star here, all the talking and the jokes, I love how you are able to include in a funny way comments that are sometimes said around the community I was able to identify so many of them.
I loved the way it was structured some exploring and talking than the combat, all the comments during the mission where great, the space hamster part, how Shepard was upset about it, and the toothbrush were just great.
I don’t know if anybody else noticed this but I could totally see the position that you put us in Bioware, choosing your squad and how they react to it, this made me think in how you must feel when you have to select characters to work with, I understand you even more its something not easy to do…..
I always bring Liara and rotate the second member, but it was hard in a way to hear wrex say " I want to go" (he already had a turn), and then Javik said 50 000 years latter and I am rarely picked (I like and use javik) so I reloaded and brought him along and then somebody else said a similar thing, I was oh may god what do I do, clever bioware, very clever, I also noticed in some places messages going I know you want to leave us but nobody will care for you as much as we do, I think I also saw your point here too…. LOL
They are so many details; this is why I love your games….
I haven’t gone trough all of it, there is just so much to do after the mission. So now I have to prepare a party and hang out, I love that idea
So far I have only invited Liara up
I love all of the characters so it was great to have them back
CONS:
But there is something I did not like, femsheps dress; I wish she could have had more options for the mission and in the rest of the main game…… Maleshep gets to much attention I demand more equality for female characters in the next mass effect game
The other thing that worries me but for future games, I completely understand that people want equality in terms of romance, I’m ok with that, just don’t go dragon age 2 romancing type, those romances were pretty much the same, no replay value, keep the mass effect romancing unique…… Please bioware don’t make mass effect a jersey shore type a thing
Summary:
This content proved to me what I have always believed you can write, thanks for every moment, I still have hope for more Shepard in the future; hope is the last thing to die, right????
I think a break is a good idea, and start something new with new characters; but maybe you guys could pull off something in years to come like what happened in halo 4 in case you think Shepard should come back.
To anybody reading this, thanks, and if you are doubtful about getting the content don’t be it’s amazing

I enjoyed this DLC tremendously. I loved all the squad interactions. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to these wonderful characters. I romanced Kaidan, so I want to give special thanks to Cathleen Rootsaert and Raphael Sbarge. Kaidan is so underrated it kills me.
That beign said, I really do wish they included Dr. Chakwas. I bonded with her over drinks in two games, and her absence was the only sour note in an otherwise stellar DLC. Thanks BioWare!

I thank Bioware so super much for this DLC and the one last send off for my favourite characters on the Citadel, and also I thank them for all of their hardwork over the whole trilogy. Still a massive fan, the end game never really bothered me too terribly much (extended cut was so emotional) because to me it was the journey getting there not all focused on the ending.
I loved the fact that finally Shepard's arse is getting saved by her crew!! (so funny!!!) and all of the great banter and comments between characters (like when (my game) Garrus, Kaidan and Shepard are locked in the vault and she's worried over her "actually" sounding like that after the clone said "I should go.") While Garrus's is like "don't worry, people say I say calibration too much"
Overall it's amazing and possibly one of my favourite DLC's for the ME trilogy. The very end was so sad but happy and was great that everyone was there. Wiser words have never been spoken. (Shepard and Kaidan ending Bay D-24) (I think Jennifer Hale and Mark Merrs hopefully had a ball getting to say all of their great lines!!! Just as much as it was great hearing them say them!!) Thank you Bioware!

On the timeline it felt somewhat out of place and more like a post-ending DLC. You know ... like a victory party after high EMS Destroy-Ending. (Well I guess I have to headcanon this.)
The clone-story was a bit silly, but the action and maps were ok. Laughed a lot about the jokes - especially Jokers Island of Doctor Me. One big let-down was the fact, that the ME2 squadmates were nowhere to be found in the clone mission.

I also took the plot to be a self-deprecating and metaphorical acknowledgement of some of the issues many had with vanilla ME3 - the sense that defective clones of the real writers had hijacked the Normandy and forgotten what makes Shepard Shepard. Whether or not that was intended, defeating the villain had - at least for me - the feeling of defeating those elements of vanilla ME3 that disappointed me (mainly the ending), and reinstating all that I love about the series (and BioWare itself). I feel rewarded and justified for sticking by BioWare despite my disappointments. They still get it.
One thing I didn't like was the final combat area. One of the frustrations of the ME series has always been sticking to the wrong side of things you're trying to take cover behind, and that room was just chock full of wrong sides to stick to. The combat itself was challenging and fun, although I think the combat in Omega was better from a design perspective.
Tone-wise, it is totally out-of-sync with the rest of the ME3 experience, and this is why some will hate it. Too light, too trivial, perhaps. I think it would probably be best played the way I played it, which was thinking of it as a post-ending flashback - maybe Shepard's last memory before death. I'm curious how it will play actually inserted into the main story-line. Now that's it's all out there, I'm going to start one last character in ME1 and go through it all.
Most importantly, though, this opportunity to really say goodbye to the characters was one of the things many players felt was lacking in vanilla ME3. No one can say that BioWare wasn't listening - this is almost exactly the "happy ending" many wanted, even if it's not technically the ending. Not every fan will like this, but an awful lot will LOVE it. And it is generous on the fan-service and nostalgia. Thank you, BioWare, both for listening and pulling out all the stops for us.

Have to disagree there. As we've seen in previous DLCs, the events always happen. Whether or not Shepard participated is the question.CDR David Shepard wrote...

Exactly this, except I'm giving Bioware just ONE remaining chance to show us what's really up.
Because if not, they actually ruined Shepard's character with this DLC. I got a friggin apartment and gambled while Thessia burns. I'm astonished.
Just don't get the DLC...and then it never happened.
I never played Arrival...so my Shepard never participated in those events.
I'm not going to get this DLC...so my Mass Effect universe never had a Shepard clone.
You don't have to force DLC onto yourself if you don't like it.
I.e. LotSB always has Liara go about right? And Arrival always has an asteroid slam into the relay? Or did I miss something?
But I digress.
Pros:
- Romp with the "entire" crew.
- Funny dialog spread throughout the DLC
- Amazing maps
- Nice quick and fun puzzles
- Blasto ('nuff said).
- Nice new weapons
Cons:
- No real indication of where this fits in the ME3 Plot. Shepard on "shore leave" while the galaxy burns?

- Cheesy Plot / Dialog when confronting the villains
- Clone Villain. Really? It was pretty obvious less than 20 min. into the dialog.
- Tali romance scene kinda felt even more cheesy as opposed to Liara / Miranda
- No Kasumi romance? Really?

Actually, that makes the most sense now that I think of it. At least for me, as Shepard dies, maybe he hallucinates his own happy ending.

With that said, this DLC delivered the goods. After the mission, I was able to have great interactions with all of the surviving characters, I found that I grew to like the ME3 squad mates more, and Miranda had great LI content. I was very happy that we saw her and Shepard have conversations that couples in real life would have. This was the first time that a "normal" relationship appeared present.
I agree that tonally this DLC did not fit in with ME3 at all. The tone throughout the mission and the aftermath was absurdly light-hearted, presenting a stark contrast to the dour tone of the rest of the game. I actually thought the tone fit the mission pretty well, though. The idea that Shepard has a clone and it just appeared out of nowhere is so ridiculous that it was really entertaining to see all of the characters openly mocking how ridiculous this subplot is. For a game that took itself extremely seriously, it was refreshing to have a mission like this.
The writing was excellent. Probably the best writing of the game in my opinion. I think there were too many one-liners, but the one-liners were incredibly clever. The references to previous games and multiplayer were hilarious.
My overall opinion? I just finished my second playthrough of this DLC, and I'm just so happy. Thank you so much, Bioware. Honestly, this probably should have been in the game to begin with, but I don't mind paying because in this case, 15 bucks was worth it.
Positives:
- Great writing
- Hilarious
- While tonally inconsistent with the rest of the game, refreshing shift in tone nonetheless
- Incredible character interactions
- Gave me a sense of closure with the characters that I've grown to love
Negative:
- WHERE WAS LEGION?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

1. Ending is stil tragic, and this kills very good experience from DLC. It should be after the ending.
2.Where is Legion ? There is no reference to Legion.
3. After the DLC, on the normandy no one is saying anything about party. No foto in captian deck, nothing.
In summary , Citadel DLC is great but agian ending kills everything.

I finished the Citadel DLC today and I'm stil feeling a little melancholy, but here's what I think about it:
Cons:
The actual mission was a bit too goofy for my taste; the overall tone of it jarred with the solemnity and urgency of the original game. Of course, there's nothing wrong with a few good oneliners during a firefight, but this was just sheer overdose. If the squad isn't taking the mission very seriously, then why should I? The plot device of the Shepard clone was more than a little cheesy, and I can't help but feel the writers nuked the fridge there.
Pros:
The party was simply perfect. There, the humor felt exactly right: this is how people behave when they want to forget about war and devastation for a while. It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to all the characters I've grown to love over the last few years. A few highlights: Kaidan cooking for Shepard, Thane's memorial service, a meaningful moment of silence with Samara, and Grunt being ... well, Grunt.
All in all, I think the pros far outweigh the cons. This DLC goes back to what I loved about Mass Effect in the first place: the wonderful characters who make the universe worth saving. It will take some time to get Shepard and friends out of my system. Thank you everyone at BioWare for a great game!

Loved all the humor, it was such a relief from all the doom and gloom. When Joker picked me up to go to the Normandy and I chose Ashley and Garrus, their was an awkward pause and Shepard said, "What?" And Wrex just mumbles, ".... I wanted to go." I lost it. lol The party was amazing. Everything was scripted perfectly. Wrex, Javik, and Zaeed hiding behind furniture with their guns. Grunt being drunk in the shower and mumbling a line from Judge Dredd, ".. I am the law.." and being disappointed that hanar's can't wear sweaters. Amazing. STILL WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE TALI'S FACE, JUST SAYING.
I loved the arena (especially the phantom armor!), the arcade, the casino. I topped the arena score, got all the prizes in the claw game, and topped the Relay defense game. But the robot one I'm still working on....
With all this being said, it felt a shame to be in the middle of the game. This would have been beautiful end game content. I did it right before launching Cronos station. Taking a break from all this war time just seemed odd with everything at stake. And I'll say it, I believe in the IT theory. I believe Shepard's breathing scene is him surviving the indoctrination. It's cold and heartless to build up EDI to become more human and get into a relationship just to kill her without her knowing it plus just gaining peace between the Quarian's and the Geth; and Control and Synthesis are just wrong. (if you believe in IT you know why, I won't get into it). If IT is correct, Reapers are still a threat. The Illusive Man is still out there, he was never on the Citadel, and Anderson is still alive. The Crucible has even yet to be fired. And after all the work I put into building it, scanning every planet, doing every side mission.
I would have liked to see my EMS go over 9000. Because I know if my EMS is over 9000, I can defeat the Reapers conventionally, or by correctly using the Crucible. My EMS is 8430, I think I've done everything I can in the game. Would have been nice for that 9000.
It's just a shame to have such an incredibly fun party with your entire team, then morose back into the Normandy off into what is known most certainly as a death sentence for you and most of your squad. Now I know it costs a lot of money and time to make DLC, and with the passing of Robin Sachs (RIP), I can understand future DLC being difficult. But Mass Effect 3 feels unfinished. EC or not. It's just a shame that most players have a "head cannon". If we have to make up a head cannon, you did something wrong.
Make another DLC, and I'll buy it. I'll keep buying them, because I love the game, the characters, all of it. I've seen several amazing ideas on these forums for possible DLC.
Hearing Liara play Vigil's piece on the piano, the feels. I remembered everything from the first game, the second game. How hard I worked to keep the peace, save lives. I miss it. I miss planet exploration. Even planet mining. And I'm still butthurt about not being able to rescue the Elcor in person. An amazing DLC would have been to get a bunch of Yahg fighting on your side.. That would have been cool.
Anyway I loved it. Just wish it had been longer, and at the end, not in the middle. Please don't stop here, make some more DLC!

About ten years ago, The Lion King was released in IMAX theatres. Considering I got into TLK and it's associated fandom long after the cinemas stopped showing it and the video was out, I was looking forward to this very much. I assumed many of my fellow fans would feel the same way.
No.
Instead of enjoying it when they went or talking about how great it would / could be, all I saw was talk about there was a hair on one frame or that, at some point in the film you could quite clearly see that two frames were not properly interlaced!
Quite frankly, had this been a physical gathering rather than a forum then I would have gone crazy-eight bonkers with a hand-drill and a shotgun. I would have rammed someones head down the waste-disposal and set fire to anyone who objected. This is because, and you can call me crazy if you like, but I wanted to go and see the film because I loved it and wanted to enjoy it on the big-screen - the fact it was in IMAX format was a bonus. Thankfully, so did the people I went with (except one and I told him if he came anywhere near me I would drown him in his own mineral water) and it was great! Despite being straight, the rumblings through my seat generated by James' Earl Jones' basso voice did funny things to me and the whole thing was fantastic!
Spool forward ten years later and I find myself picking holes in Mass Effect 3's ending, along with many others, which makes me sound like a right old hypocrite!
However, when it came to The Citadel DLC, I took the same approach to it as I did TLK IMAX a decade ago. I knew from a Q&A that it would have no effect on the ending, which disappointed me but I'd rather be told outright rather than have my hopes dashed later on. Also, as mis-placed as it can be sometimes, I kinda like distrsactions in games like Mass Effect and Fallout - the chance to kick back and recharge the old batteries now and again. That said, I would also like to point out that there are several of these moments in the vanilla game and they are excellent on their own; shooting bottles with Garrus, having lunch with Kaiden and so on. Sure it seems daft to take shore leave during a war but the same could be said about Pinnacle Station - was chasing a high-score really wise when you were chasing Saren? Probably not but I haven't heard much dissent over it...
Anyway - Citadel, here we go!
When it comes to dialogue, Mass Effect has largely been excellent and this DLC was no different. From Wrex and his many wise maxims to EDI making Traynor squirm (which was worth the cost of the DLC on it's own for me! Then again, thanks to some leftover BW-points, I only had to pay £3 for it), it was some of the richest and funniest I've heard in a long time! There are just too many stand-out lines for me to list although "tonight's entertainment will be brought to you by random acts of gratuitous violence...I love showbusiness!" would rank very highly on that list, could I be arsed to write it down.
As for the plot, didn't they do the whole "clone with an inferiority complex" thing in Metal Gear Solid? I'm not quite sure I buy that Cerberus would make an entire living, breathing clone for the sake of "spares". As has already been established, cloned organs and such are available but I concede that a hand in a jar giving me the finger would have made for a pretty lame baddy!
That said, ignoring the fact that it's not exactly an original idea, it still threw me and builds on the little doubts over Shepard here and there. Lines such as "I'm pretty sure you're not a clone", "That could be anyone wearing your face!" and "Maybe I'm just an advanced VI that thinks it's me..." (granted that last one comes after the DLC) spring to mind here. While some have derided the use of a clone as "cheap", I prefer to think of it as a pretty good way of highlighting what this DLC is ultimately all about - character. The clone might have my things going for him but what he ultimately lacks are people who will stand by him and they do so because of his deeds and actions that earned their trust and respect. You cannot clone that, which is why The Illusive Man didn't go with the clone. When Shepard accused the clone of being a worse would-be Shepard than Conrad Verner, it was more than a mere insult. You can look and talk like Shepard, but you will never be Shepard.
Brooks was was an odd addition and I swear that if she moaned one more time about being shot then I would bloody well shoot her again. However the fact that BioWare remembered that annoying characters elicit emotional responses too and that they are needed as a counterpoint to the likeable ones shows they're not done yet. I worked out very quickly she was the traitor pretty quickly though - call it a hunch...
Once the business with the clone was done with (I booted him off the Normandy, for the record) I had a quick look around The Strip and caught up with the gang. As I stated before, I kinda like doing stuff like this in games for some odd reason and in Mass Effect, it felt good because I actually gave a crap about most of the characters, as opposed to other game franchises. I will concede that, were this part of the DLC post-ending, it would have been a lot more awesome but, as I stated before, I went into this DLC hoping to enjoy it on it's own merits. Which I did!
Citadel was touted as a "goodbye" to the characters we know and love, which is why I agree it would have worked better as a post-ending DLC. Doing it this way kinda breaks the fourth wall in many places, even if the characters never actually speak to the "camera" or make reference to the fact they are in a video game. It felt more like a wrap-party than a last knees-up before facing the final battle, which is a shame because the latter actually works for me. Rather than a series of bleak exchanges (kinda like the ones you get in London), they all decide to go out with a bang - remember what they are fighting to protect and why it's worth it. It formed new bonds and cemented ones that were already strong.
Judging by some of the comments, I think I missed out on a few key exchanges (Mordin's message) and, by inviting everyone at once, dropped a bit of a bollock! Oh well, I'll just have to remember not to do that, next time! It also struck me that some people were somewhat miffed by the fact there was funny dialogue. Correct me if I am wrong but hasn't Mass Effect has had funny lines throughout the series? Too much of a good thing, perhaps?
Summing up - Despite the rather compelling arguments to the contrary, I thought that The Citadel DLC was pretty enjoyable. It was hilariously funny in places, all due credit to the writers on the dialogue front, and even though it was mostly fan-service, I don' think that's a bad thing - not in this case at least. BioWare was never going to give us the sendoffs we think the characters we know and love deserved but this is the next best thing and, in all honesty and iffy timing aside, it was a darn sight better than what I was expecting!
Oh and the apartment - It's a farkin' SWEET pad! Not sure how Anderson ever managed to afford it - maybe being a councillor pays better than being an Admiral!
TL;DR - While I can see why some people would say it sucked, I don't think it did.
Quite the opposite in fact, it was excellent!
If anyone thinks I am a blind, arse-kissing fanboy for this, the queue to kiss my arse starts over there...

Damn near everything. It's funny, exciting, and dramatic.
If I had to list and detail everything, I'd be in trouble for making a freaking long post.
Cons:
The announcement and description of the DLC implied that the ME2 crew would take part in the conspiracy part of the DLC, instead of just being available for the fun stuff afterward.
The Cat6 Mercs are just a re-skin of the Cerberus troops. Which is odd because Cerberus was supposed to be using Reaper-tech, which is why they had all that tech, but Cat6 has more advanced versions.
No Kelly Chambers or Diana Allers at all.
Also no Ken Donelly or Gabby Daniels. They would have been fun at the party.
No Mordin appearance, despite him being able to survive Priority: Tuchanka given proper circumstances.
Would have liked to have been able to save the clone and reform him, making him a war asset.
Brookes doesn't show up as a war asset despite her pulling a Petrovsky and giving the Alliance info on Cerberus.
Combat Simulator can get REALLY laggy and choppy(PS3 version)
DLC had little War Assets added in comparison to From Ashes, Leviathan, and Omega.
There are still two star clusters on ME3's galaxy map that haven't been opened. Omega Nebula(which should have been opened for exploring in Omega,) and Hawking Eta(dunno why you guys put it in the galaxy map if you weren't going to do anything with it.)
