Good And much-needed dialouge between miranda-jacob And miranda-jack, I always liked miranda Android jacob paired together only to have them never interact in me 3 before this

Very nice DLC, I loved all the little bits that went into it. For me it was the perfect ending of an awesome series Thank you for that :)

I forgot something in my last post. I know that there were several legendary and epic scenes. But dammit... Grunt is the most freaking krogan ever! I enjoyed every single moment with him in this DLC, why wasn't he featured in Mass Effect 3? You don't always have to keep characters who have the most established fanbase, sometimes it's just how you present them. And this time Grunt is superb!

Ah and the scene as Joker wants to get drinks for free, that was great!

And that first song that plays when you activate your hi-fi equipment with that electronic voice (many choices...), please add this to a potential soundtrack. It's epic!

But as I said before: This Uber-DLC does not fit into the Mass Effect canon and the whole authenticity of the storyline, as sad as it is. It would have been much much better as epilogue, a post-ending addendum. However, I have to admit it is the best DLC I've ever bought (with Lair of the Shadow Broker). It's just bad that it screws up the lore.

I've got a full review up over here.

Most of what I have to say is negative, I'll admit, but that's not to say I didn't have some fun with it. There was some good and/or funny stuff in Citadel, it's just that the final product really didn't have any business being in a Mass Effect game. Especially *this* Mass Effect game.

What feedback? me getting on my knees and kissing your feet, because anything besides that you will simply dismiss at the minority. Even after statistics proove you otherwise.

But on the nice side:

The DLC was a gallery shooting with funny banter. Horrible story setting... nothing new there.
Nice to see all buddies back but you went through the trouble of getting all those actors back for a shooting gallery?... even a bigger slap in the face. You were meant to rebuild the tower you destroyed and yet you put a bigger effort into digging a deeper hole than the one you are in already. This same effort concentrated around practical data found all around you would have been your salvation.

EDIT:
Sorry meant to edit but is not letting me.

Bioware... I dont know who is making your decisions for you, but they need ot get fired... seriously.

Numbers dont lie

www.youtube.com/watch

People are willing to pay for a fix... what part of you cashing in for a fix do you not get is beyond reason at this point.

Just finished (modified version below).

Pros:

-some of the dialogue is hilarious, i laughed out loud several times (esp. with kasumi's random appearances at the party)
-silversun strip is gorgeous, the enviroment in the DLC is so colorful that time just flew by when i was exploring it
-mordin's message...good god, the tears did flow
-attention to detail, both visually and in banter dialogue
-the scene with shepard overlooking the normandy; in my playthrough, kaidan says something like "it's been the biggest challenge, but also the biggest reward" or something to that effect and i was genuinely moved to tears
-soundtrack was nice (i would personally have preferred different party music, but the combat and romance music was good)
-the ability to interact with each character separately at various points throughout the DLC was nice
-fighting in the normandy = well done
-extra effort was put into LI contact overall, which is very much appreciated
-some of the in-game combat varieties were nice (e.g., having to disable cameras at the casino)

Cons:

-main mission was short- not sure how long it took other people, but it took me about 3 hours to finish it (i'm not complaining about how much the DLC cost, just saying that i think it could have been expanded more)
-though i'm not personally *that* turned off by the shepard clone, it did feel somewhat cliche/abrupt/unexplained (cerberus did what with her genes and made what? why?)
-brooks' character felt rushed..by the time that she was introduced and i was just starting to like her, she turns to a completely different personality and i had a hard time swallowing the switch
-the "come to my apt." scene with kaidan (my LI) was...awkward and short. i haven't seen any other LI scenes, though i'm guessing from even just the trailer that some of them are more interesting (in general, i felt like kaidan and shepard were acting more like comrades or military buddies during that particular scene than romantic partners).
-this is really nitpicky, but i would have liked at least one alternate casual outfit for shepard...that short black dress was grating my eyes after a few hours
-i had several glitches on my playthrough...e.g., calling up Tali but then having Liara show up after I tried to call Liara earlier and failed.
-in general, the inviting people up mechanism was confusing--when i would try to invite someone up pre-party, glyph would try to start the party. when i'd tell him no i'm not ready, people would come in and (as far as i could tell) reference the party happening before it happened. weird.
-*MODIFIED: my final and, now that i think about it, main con pertains to the ending (yes, the taboo discussion that is the ending)...if this would have been post-ending, it would have been absolutely pheomenal. but stuck in the middle of the war, it felt awkward and off at times (the party amidst the reapers). similarly, when i reached the end, the party aftermath felt "quiet," as Liara says...just sort of melancholic. i think at some point she even said that..."probably our last one [party]"...that line really struck a chord with me. if it had been "the last party," but had the tone of "hurrah we won the war!" i think the DLC would have looked quite different. as it stands, it's incredibly bittersweet. i don't mind bittersweet as long as the bitter makes sense or has meaning/purpose or SOMETHING, but the way the ending is now...it just seems bitter for no reason.

This pretty much sums it up

If you can overlook the large amount of bugs it generated (like SP & MP stats getting mixed up) it was a great DLC.

I described it to a friend as The Expendables meets Die Hard with The Sims.

I was a little dissapointed about some characters not making an appearance (Kelly, Gabby & Ken) and
the clone idea was a little predictive, I know I was wondering if you were going to do something along those lines in ME2.

I think this would of been better after the war, kinda felt weird having a party while Earth burns

The DLC was phenomenal. It was full of laughs and touching moments, and best of all, it delivered on the best aspect about the Mass Effect series - the relationships with the characters.

I won't be ashamed to admit it - I cried on more than one occasion. Mordin's last words, Thane's ceremony, the personal moments with every character, Vigil's theme on the piano, the goodbye scene. So many moments. It was all incredibly bitter-sweet in the best way possible.

If I could only make one wish, it would be that the games focused on the theme of survival as opposed to sacrifice. Knowing how the game ends, the DLC's goodbye scene at the end is overwhelmingly bittersweet in the face of such a celebratory occasion. If you only knew how hard you tugged on my heart-strings.

At the very least though, I feel like I've finally gotten to say goodbye to all the characters that I love. To Mass Effect 4.

On the whole, the standard of this DLC is very high.

I like the huge amount of squadmate dialogue and the particular focus on Shep's romantic partner. I also really like pretty much everything to do with the party: it was a really fun event and it seemed like a huge amount of detail went into it. Lots of animations there that I didn't think I'd seen before as well as clever use of existing ones. It gave a great sense of the bond between the crew members.

Regarding Clone Shep, I have a wall of text to share! TL;DR = I would have liked it if Bioware had taken some tips from Lois Mc Master Bujold. [Some Vorkosigan Saga spoilers follow.]

Once the plot took this turn I was hoping for something akin to Brothers in Arms / Mirror Dance by Lois McMaster Bujold. There was a lot in common in the set-up of both LMB's stories and this ME3 DLC: a clone, who has been brought into existence by a shady organization as a means to an end, who has never really known love or kindness, tries to steal the hero's life. The clone succeeds for a time in replacing the hero, steals the hero's ship, etc. But in Bujold's work, the hero reaches out to his clone boldly and persistently. The hero calls the clone his brother and tries to offer him a life of his own rather than just being a tool of others. The hero says that the clone could go his own way and shape whatever destiny he wanted, or he could have a valued place in the hero's family. The hero is haunted by the question of what his mother would say if she found out that he hadn't taken enough care of his "baby brother" (who no one in his family ever expected to exist). When he thinks he's about to die, his last words are not trying to save himself but telling the clone that the clone has his own name that isn't the hero's. The character arcs that hero and clone go through with LMB's plot is incredible. The hero is by no means a bland, clichéd paladin - he's a con artist in many ways! - but he engages with the rights and wrongs of this situation rather than ignoring them. I wish that Shepard had a chance to do this more with the clone. Maybe I missed something somewhere, but I remember two brief efforts to reach out to the clone. Of those two, the first was an attempt to get the clone on Shepard's side rather than sympathising with the clone or giving options other than with-me-or-against-me.  By the time that Shepard made the second offer, she'd given the clone little reason to believe or hope for anything good in her life. All she promised was that the clone would live. But how much value did life have for the clone at that point?

This person, this adult-shaped, Shepard-like person, was, at maximum, three years old. She didn't have a normal childhood or indeed much of a childhood at all. She didn't get to learn about life over time, to find out what mattered to her for her own sake. Knowledge was imprinted via chips rather than being gained slowly and organically. She didn't have anyone to love her; to her creators, she was nothing more than a donor bank. Shepard could have been the one to change that, but Shep focused too much on me-me-me-me and a whole lot of one-liner mouthing off for much of the clone plot. I would have liked the conversations to offer some deeper choices.

I mean, sure. Shepard and her crew were put in mortal danger by the clone, who often seemed like a serious jerk with few (if any) likeable personal qualities.  But with such a limited life up to that point, such cold, cynical hardness is understandable.  A serious, sustained offer of something better could have helped.  Naturally it would take more than a couple of lines of lukewarm dialogue to make someone like that realise that life can be happy and that such happiness is actually within their reach.

May post again later when I have more thoughts, but it's getting late now.

I haven't downloaded anything since the EC. I have purchased this and looking forward to playing my Shepards who have been hanging around in limbo. Whether or not I play to the end, or just end the game here, I'll wait and see. Good job. Now if I can ever get the "good ending" on the 360 I'll download the rest of the dlc and play for years. For now I'll enjoy what you have done with this DLC. I've checked out some of the things I won't be doing and they all look good.

Mass Effect 3 Citadel WAS AWESOME!!!!! The tone was light, the jokes were abundant, and the missions were short...but It worked. Kudos to the BIOWARE team behind Mass Effect and this DLC. Just finished it. Wow. All bases covered and knocked it out of the ballpark. I never wanted the party to end... died laughing so many times (drunk Grunt in the shower was phenomenal). That was the best and sweetest way to send the fans off.

Garrus said it best:  "Best times of my life were spent on that ship. Been a damn good ride."

Thank you, BioWare. It's definitely been a damn good ride. *tries so very hard not to cry, fails miserably*

Made the ending even worse IMO given that this is a mid setting closure...not a full closure as promised from Bioware...oh yeah...false advertising seems to be really big in this company.

Citadel was the best DLC you produced no question although it was still not mind blowing and still feel it had flaws and a lot of missed potential.. I actually did a full review of it in my full review of ME3

I know I already commented, but I forgot to mention, I wish there was more to the Citadel Archives. I mean, as a Spectre, I should get to explore everything in there. Access everything. You oughtta make a DLC with a ton, and I mean a ton of lore in there. That'd be awesome. I want to know MOAR.... And I also feel really good in knowing there are people out there complaining about the DLC makes the bad ending feel worse, because it does, and it makes me feel better that I'm not alone... Fix it, for god's sake Bioware, start a Kickstarter account if you have to, we'll all contribute. If Stainless Games can start a Kickstarter and revive the Carmageddon franchise (which I love), then you can too, because I'm pretty sure your fan base is bigger than Carmageddon's.

AAAAH! Drunk grunt in shower?! I missed that- there was so much dialogue in there that it's hard to get it all in one playthrough. Looks like I'm taking it for another spin! :D

Well, any dlc is pretty much going to that. Whats the point on playing if you know how bad is going to end?...Shame but. At least the banter was funny... only thing good on it.

This is my last post on BSN. I loved the saga for years, I support the indoctrination theory, and my Shepard is waking up in London with the reapers out there, leaving me in a cliffhanger nightmare I can never wake up from, this is my punishment for trusting Bioware writers and getting engaged in this story.

Citadel DLC is a stinky cheesy TV episode of normady : high school days, an obvious post ending victory DLC shoved up in the middle of the game with one liners and references that took that side of me that admired the sophistication and touch Bioware was known about in their stories and broke it down to dust. Im talking now to any of the genius and fabulous writers from ME1 and ME2, the ones that built this beautiful world : Why you let this happen, why you let them kill mass effect with non-sense. Was it arrogance ? so unfortunate.

In this DLC they took my beloved comander shepard and turned her into a partying ******, who doesnt care about the ongoing reaper war or the reapers, a shamelest fanservice fest with Shepard and crew taking part on a script more worthy of charlies angels. Talking about an impostor shepard.

Time to leave ME behind, the awkening never arrived, the nonsense prevails, and Bioware have new "improved" fans with less demanding quality.

Good luck bioware, you are going to need it.

Agreed!!

Good:
-Squadmate content
-LI content
-New hub world with lots to do
-Well done environments and level design
-Clearly seems like a lot of effort went into it

Bad:
-Story was a little too silly and ridiculous - was difficult to get into
-The light-hearted nature, while welcome, seemed a bit out of place relative to what preceded it and succeded it. Going from the party to the depressing vibe of Priority: Earth and the endings is jarring to say the least.
-Various technical glitches and bugs that were bothersome.
-Apartment seemed a bit pointless after the party - would have been nice if there were little added touches, such as the LI staying while you're there.

Seems like the writers got released from their shackles, lots of humor and other stuff you probably wouldn't see anywhere else than the last DLC of game series. I am not going to comment about the story, since it felt it was just a setup for the rest of the DLC. On the other hand the rest was certainly worth the price.

Special bonus moments:
- Grunt's party with buddies
- unromanced femshep and Javik moment afterwards
- Tali imitating both Normandies
- Garrus and Zaeed redesigning the apartments defences during the party
- deep conversation with Wrex and Grunt at some point of the party

Long one, probably not getting read but I need to get this out of my system ;-)

When I like the game, I begin with the negative so that I may end the review as positively as I feel about it. Pre EC I reviewed ME3 and for the first time reviewed a BW game starting with the positive (I'm fine with the EC). That said, let's get stared.

The Negative:

- What, no Legion? Did I miss something? I must have missed something because even Thane and Mordin get their moments. No messages, no mention by the people that knew him? C'mon I loved that guy! If anyone found anything Legion related hidden in the DLC, let me know.

- I get my a** handed to me on a regular basis by the mirror match in the arena. I'm a soldier so what these vanguards, engineers and adepts are doing there, mirroring me is beyond me. I mean I know what they are doing there, they are staggering the living sh** outa me. DAMN YOU MIRROR MATCH I will beat you yet! Also I reaffirmed my belief that novaguards suck.

- I know the DLC is half the mission and half the party but still I felt the clone plot was way too short. I started the DLC saying "What do you say, Shep? Once more into the fray?" That fray sure went by quickly. The last enemy Shep is ever going to fight is defeated in about 2 hours.
And that's factoring in the half dozen times I got shot down because all I had was a silenced Level 1 pistol without mods. SOOOO shouldn't have done this on insanity.

- Dr. Chakwas shoulda been at the party. With Shepard, Joker, Garrus and Tail she is one of five people to be on the Normandy crew in every single game of the trilogy. She was sorely missed.

If my main criticism is that I didn't get enough of this, that's actually not much of a criticism I just realized. So let's get to

The Positive:

- Loved the level design. Silversun Strip, archives, even the Normandy landing pad.

- Loved the soundtrack. You gonna release?

- Loved the mini games and that there is no finite amount of credits to be earned anymore (hello gold tokens, hello Typhoon X)

- Ambience dialogue on the strip about Multiplayer tactics "and then that Drell just started kicking the air for no reason" I nodded in agreement many times ;-)

- Thane's memorial was so incredibly well done. Hat's off. Wasn't choked up like this since... well, since he died.

- Garrus' LI scene must be the best of the bunch. I only romanced Liara but I saw it on Youtube. I was like "What, no dancing with the blue chick? I thought dancing was their thing?" Awesome camera work, music and dialogue. Flawless.

- The party banter on the Normandy was a brilliant idea for ME3. Found myself browsing each deck for something I missed after every mission. Getting an entire DLC designed around that concept is just so full of awesome, I don't know where to begin. There were so many tears of joy and sadness here that this is where the review could end. Because those emotional moments were what the DLC was made for and it delivered at every turn.

So I'm just gonna go with a few examples. I did the party 6 times, with everybody, with just the SR1 crew and with just the SR2 crew and both loud and quiet settings (here's actually where you get your money's worth in this DLC). So I must have cought most of it. It's all paragon though so I'm not sure.

- If going relaxed you will find Samara meditating in a corner. This is the only time the soundtrack changes from the party music to something scene related and she tells you that she will be there whenever you call for her. Oh gawd, she is always so intense. Perfect.

- I am happy beyond words that you did the voice recordings early on. You can't imagine my outcry of joy when I first saw Zaeed cursing at that arcade machine. So good to see the man one last time. Him trying to hit on Samara or rigging the appartment to explode with Garrus were highlights.

- Wrex and Ashley talking about Virmire. Miranda and Jack coming to terms with each other. Some nice little wrap ups right there.

- Shuuuuuuum Shuuuuuuum

- First I did the quiet run with the SR1 crew. Sitting down with Wrex and going "Shepard." "Wrex." for minutes was funny as hell. I should have expected it with all the fan tributes in the DLC but still it caught me off guard. Nicely done. Also that this ends up in a loop that you can just play forever is hilarious. It's an ingame recreation of a fan gif!

- Then I went with the SR2 crew. Imagine my surprise when I sat down with Grunt and we went "Shepard." "Grunt." Oh no you didn't ;-)

- Then I went with everybody invited. Sat down with Wrex and Grunt. Yeah. I think I might have woken up my neighbours with my laughter. Especially when you leave the conversation and they say it together. That was the hardest I laughed in the entire DLC.

- The bit about Cerberus incompetency was a nice touch. Nice to see them talk sh** about their enemy in their spare time.

- Shep on the dance floor ("Captain on deck!"). Kasumi randomly decloaking in the middle of conversations ("Kasumi I swear I will find you and hurt you bad."). Javik trying to touch everybody. Krogan headbuts. Ash and James hooking up ("Did you just giggle?"). War games at the bar. EDI cooking food. So many great moments there. OH GAWD so many great moments.

- "It's been a great ride" "The best." I wasn't so choked up since... well, since Thane's memorial.

Finally I want to say that i think it fits perfectly within the game. If the apocalypse was upon us and I could die at any second that's exactly what I would do. Throw a party filled with all the people I care about. And then go shoot the apocalypse to kingdom come.

This DLC is the crowning jewel of ME3.

Eggs anyone?

The music is really good, a pity they didn't label the music files, so it takes some time to search and label everything :)
