Played it. Experienced it. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!

What really stood out to me were the small details and references to previous events in the series that were placed throughout the DLC. Like the mass effect field toothbrush lol genius.

I especially enjoyed how the Mass Effect team was able to showcase more of the civilian side of life as someone who lives on the citadel. I felt this really expanded on the universe because throughout the series we walk in the shoes of Shepard and a majority of the time we see the military lifestyle with only a small look into how the different species function as a society on the citadel. With this DLC though we were introduced to the meat market and car dealership with little tablets of info along the way. Such as the request and denial for krogan or asari flavored meat (which made me laugh out loud). While a small footnote in the dlc, it was an interesting oh yeah kind of moment that brought a reality to the citadel that this is probably something one of the things that c-sec has to deal with on a regular basis. It almost felt like it was going to be a SIMS Mass Effect, which I am totally cool with :). This focus on how the population on the citadel live, party, and markets real added depth to the Mass Effect universe. Additionally, the way the squad members were introduced was genius, it gave a real sense of excitement as Shep was eluding the mercs and his squad members start to radio in and letting him know they're on their way. It was a really cool feeling when they let you know they got your back and they're going to link up with you.

Along the same lines, I got wide-eyed and my jaw dropped when Shep declared that the entire crew was going in on the mission, I couldn't help myself I had to shout out YES! The dialogue between all the squad members was a riot, cheesy and campy yes but in every good way possible, we were just a butt kicking team of destruction which wouldn't work anywhere else in the game but here because it was the final dlc with Shep, somewhat of a farewell romp of crushing baddies with your buds.

The clone twist was great and I didn't expect it. It makes sense too because there had to be repercussions from the Lazarus project, nothing that risky gets pulled off flawlessly. It also made for a very challenging boss battle on insane difficulty.

The biggest thing for me was the added time, depth, and dialogue with all your squad members individually from the ENTIRE series! It was shore leave so you got to see a different side of them, more relaxed and funny, this I felt really fleshed them out and made them more human/real, which I didn't know was possible because throughout the entire series they already seemed so real. The party was awesome and showed you they could cut loose from time to time, not to mention ALL the hilarious moments throughout the party and how they were all interacting with one another was really cool to see. I really enjoyed how they also included a lot more details of Anderson's past as he is an awesome character too. Got a little choked up when hearing the tablet left by Mordin, he was a good dude. Thane's memorial service was emotionally stirring as well, especially because he was my fave in ME2. The closure with all the characters was there :). And the group photo is a brilliant touch.

The casino and the games, real fun to play and real creative, especially all the names for the varren lol. Particularly, I liked the fact that there isn't a cap on the amount of credits you can get in the game now. Being in the Blasto movie was laugh out loud funny.

The ARENA is freaking awesome! I'm able to play alongside just about every character in the ME series and the different selections you can make to create a harder or easier run through adds to the versatility and replay value. The fan mail is great and real entertaining and I liked how you are interacting with your fans by putting on the shows they want and as a bonus you get rewards for it. New phantom armor rocks! There's nothing like stepping on the field against the super elite collectors, no medigel, no ammo pick ups, and Grunt and Wrex by your side ;).

The ending was real touching and even gave some foreshadowing that it was Shep's last good time. From all the fun experiences through the dlc you realize Shep not only has a connection with each on of the squad members individually but they also have a connection to each other as well so you are part of that big group, it felt like it really brought everyone together instead of just separate squad mates, if that makes sense. When everyone is boarding the Normandy and they call to Shep to hurry up and he was looking off into the citadel skyline, you felt like it was the end, like you know what Shep had a great run and yes he would sacrifice himself for those he loved.

Amazing piece of dlc and a very fitting send off to characters we've all grown so attached to. Thanks Bioware and Mass Effect team for the fan service throughout the dlc, hard work, and your dedication in listening to your fans, even though, demonstrated by first few posts on this thread, can see that can get pretty rough lol.

Only read the first 2 pages of posts and i have to say WOW some people cannot be pleased.

I enjoyed it made total sense, the Normandy crew has been fighting the Reapers since they invaded, it may only seem like a few hours to us but think about in terms of the game Months could have passed. They maybe a war going on but to constantly be in the trenches is bad for soldiers, they get sloppy they get demoralized with all the death this will make them a liability to not only themselves but to the mission and crew hence the reason for the attempt at RnR.

Love the banter that goes on between the crew, they have been fighting together and have been friends for 3 in game years. On some occasions it made me laugh out loud. The Pizza Delivery Volus scene had me in tears, the Grunt conversation also had me in tears.

I also loved the mission where you all go in to the archives and the Clone threw me and so did Brooks betrayal, Also believing that Cerberus made a clone of Sheppard is also understandable, in a conversation which i cannot remember who its with, they say it took billions of credits to bring Sheppard back, if i was the Illusive man i too would like a back up for organs and what not.

Also i suggest not doing the party till the final mission where you assault Cerberus, gives it a better impact of this may be the last we see of each other.

Disclaimer - The views expressed in this post are of my own Opinion based on nothing but my experiences with the DLC and Mass Effect.

Fantastic, BioWare at its best. The community related jokes were hilarious.

But I still wish there was an alternate ending to the game. It's 1 year later and I still feel bad about it.

Just finished my first runthrough of the DLC.

I have to say that the first part of the DLC (combat/main storyline) wasn't too memorable. The only part I really liked was the casino infiltration, probably because it seems to have the most replayability. I took Tali with me so I'm curious to hear the dialog for the other squadmates on subsequent playthroughs. I thought it was a really cool alternate to the combat that usually dominates these missions.

Although I found the clone to be a cliche big bad I wasn't completely against it. It made sense in the context of Sheppard and Cerberus's history. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if more clones were running around. My only issue with the clone was that it came across as being very ornery and childish.

I think my biggest issue with the DLC was that the main quest felt way too short. By the time we are fighting in the Normandy I found myself going "... wait, this is the end?" It just felt like it should have been longer.

There were a lot of things I enjoyed about it though, and that had everything to do with the squadmates both past and present. The party was awesome. Turian tango was awesome (I went renegade on that all the way). I loved Thane's messages and I can't wait to replay the memorial/messages with my Thane romanced Sheppard. Grunt acting as the bouncer at the party was hillarious. Kaiden's cooking was also awesome.

I was very sad when it was all over and kind of wish we were able to still invite companions up after doing their little personal "dates." Even if it didn't involve cut scenes it still would have provided more life to the apartment after everything was said and done.

I have yet to play the mellow party scene out so I'm looking forward to replaying it again in the future.

All in all ... I was pretty satisfied with it in the end. The scene with Shep and Crew returning to the Normandy after the party was very bittersweet, but I thought it was a fitting end and farewell to the series and to the Commander.

Thanks Bioware. :D

ETA: I LOVE the arena.  So glad we are able to play with former squadmates.  And the fact that you can unlock additional squadmates/maps/enemies/difficulty levels means I'll be playing it a lot.  Of all the features on the Strip, this one was my favorite.

I adored this DLC so much. The tone was so refreshing. I found myself laughing so often. The pizza delivery guy, Grunt breaking out of a hospital, it was all wonderful. It also made me want to go back and play with characters I'd previously ignored, like James. Great job! If you guys make ME4 in this same style, with more humor, I will be ecstatic.

I hope they read past the first few posts...

It was a great DLC. IMO its a good send off. And really you can see that it was really well done.

And while the Clone plot is old. The fact that i thought after the revieal was "Now its a complete SciFi game.

Apparently alot of people where disappointed which is sad considering its a classIC Sci-Fi plot.

But IMO great DLC glad to spend some time with the team. And was fun and cool to be all together.

I absolutely loved this DLC. The part at the end of the DLC was very moving. I also want to thank Bioware for making the Citadel soundtracks available for free because the music is pretty awesome.
The entire Mass effect trilogy was a unique and moving experience. Thank you very much Bioware.

I loved this DLC. I would be a liar if I say differently. Yet, I would like it ten times more if it was a post ending DLC.
this should have been the post war party Shep and crew deserved.

Yes. I still can't play past Kai Leng demise. Priority: Hearth is still that bad.

Fantastic!! I loved the little things that were added that just made the whole experience better, like the little differences with different LI's. Worth multiple playthroughs and the Silversun Strip was a great little hub with loads to do.

The Casino infiltration was amazing, along with the new armour!! Loved the new weapons also, M7 is a real throw back to ME1.

The only sad thing about this DLC which has been echoed previously is that it is not post ending.

But that Bioware was you decision to make and I respect it though I don't agree with it.

Great DLC 9.5/10 worth every cent.

The Best DLC i ever purchased for any Game i own.
It like the way it is kinda torn out of the galactic war, as a way to say goodbye to all your friends and fellows of all 3 Games. The dialogue was hilarius (Blasto vs Shep/Normandy saved by Toothbrush etc), the combat interesting because of all the banter going on, the Story totally totally unpredictable and really stunning(Normandy flying around the Citadel) and it had the best animations in the frnchise imo. Totally regained the last 20% of my trust in Bioware (sry for bad english)

I've finally completed Citadel DLC and destroyed the reapers. Putting a closing end to what has been the best  computer gaming experience i've ever had.  Like everyone else, i'm both happy and sad that the Mass Effect Trilogy has ended. No video game has ever moved me like the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series.

I'm happy that shep is alive and its easy enough to guess what happens to him after destroying the crucible. But i'm more curious as to what happens to EDI after ME3. If Joker out flew the blast why was her name added on the memorial wall???? Why would her body even be affected by the energy wave????

Can we please have a graphic novel that shows what happens to each and everyonw of the surviving crew after ME3???

Thanks Bioware!

With the Destroy ending all Technology is destroyed or damaged, beacuse EDI is an AI she is either "Dead" or unable to come back online. I haven't finished ME 3 in a while so i might be wrong.

The Citadel DLC changed the entire game for me. I went from being tentative about a playthrough to absolutely wanting to do it all again (this is also in part to the other two DLCs, loved them as well!). The content in Citadel is absolutely what was needed to make ME3 a complete and fitting end to the series.

I was put off by how abrupt and nonsensical the original endings were but I was mollified in this by the EC DLC. I always figured that Shepard would meet a tragic end and that in and of itself was not surprising, but because of how utterly bleak the ending is I couldn't make myself play it again, even after EC was released. That has all changed now. Because of Citadel, I'm already planning a few more playthroughs. I loved the light-hearted factor. I loved the additional time spent with crew and LI. I adored the apartment and the sentiment behind Shepard getting it. I even enjoyed the clone twist, though I do agree that it's overdone in sci-fi (but let's be honest, it wasn't much of a stretch considering just how Cerberus brought Shepard back).

All in all, Citadel was hands down the best DLC I've ever played, and it catapulted ME3 back up to the top of my best gaming experiences list. The team behind Citadel should be damn proud; they gave the game what it was missing. Absolutely stellar job. I can honestly say I'm excited again to see what Bioware will produce in the future.

lol.. I liked the DLC but as Thanemancer I still can not "love" ME3. But I'm really happy so many enjoyed it because we "romance freaks" fought long and hard for more content with our LIs and squadmates.

To Bioware: How does it feel to be beloved again ? ;)

For me the best part of the whole thing was the final shot after taking down the clone; Shepard and crew walking off into the sunset, with the Normandy behind them surrounded by a buzz of activity. It's the type of ending I always wanted for the ME trilogy. I hope in years to come when I think back on ME3 and the trilogy that it's this shot that I remember as being the ending to ME3, because I know that way I'll remember it fondly.

This. They gave us an ending that would leave us with fond memories of the series AND its conclusion...yet they stubbornly refused to put it at the end.

Considering the final boss was a faulty, almost certainly dishonest AI, making this the ending would have been a simple matter of changing a few lines. Find out through EDI's arrival that he lied about destroy killing EDI and the Geth to try and dissuade Shepard, for example.

This fantastic DLC was what this game needed to put the ending outrage to rest, for the most part...I'd like to think all the posts saying that will make them realize it and do something, somehow, about it. So close to the legacy Shepard deserves...

After replaying the Citadel DLC, I still believe had this been one of the possible endings to take place after the war Mass Effect 3 fans like myself would be thrilled. Unfortunately, afer finishing DLC and being thrust back into galactic war...it just doesn't fit.  I look at it like this...because I've been through it.  When you have downtime in a combat zone the last thing you're thinking about is a part.  Every beer taste amazing because at least you got one more day. Frankly speaking the utter greatness of this DLC (which hands down is my favorite) is ruined once I got back to the war and inevitably to the freaking "Star Brat".

This DLC would have been a perfect way to say what we all already knew that the Star Brat's story was just a huge lie.  And a fantastic way to end the ME trilogy......Shepard, his LI and remaining squadmates walking off into the next great adventure.

Quite right. We all (or most) fully expected star brat was lying to convince Shepard into a specific outcome. Especially after hearing more explanation about why he was created - it makes sense he would use knowledge of Shepard to lie and try forcing a preferred outcome.

Having EDI explain to Shepard that he was lying about destroying her and all the Geth works because the decision is still made by a Shepard that doesn't know for sure he was lying. This can be applied to all three endings.

Alas, it seems it is not to be. So I'll just keep a save around where I can go straight into Citadel (in particular, the party) after each time I reach the ending. This DLC made me play again when I haven't played in almost a year - that says something.

If this had been post ending or the ending had been similar to this then Mass Effect 3 would have truly been the cherry on top that Casey Hudson originally described in pre release interviews. All in all the Citadel DLC as a whole is probably the best DLC ever released mainly because it plays on the strengths that made Mass Effect 2 my favorite game of all time, focus on the characters.

Pros
- Focus Character Development
- Squad interactions
- More LI content
- Great apartment
- Choices reflected in squad interactions
- Some customization options (such as who to invite to the party)
- BEAUTIFUL ENVIORNMENTS. Just flat out stunning. The Citadel up to this point was starting to look slightly generic.
- Conflict isn't to big allowing for chances to breath between action.
- Inside jokes
- Casino Games.
- New Music and use of previous music like track from Stolen Memories.

If this is the future of Mass Effect then I will say the future is at least promising and there may be hope that the ending fiasco will end up as nothing more then an isolated incident and I really hope thats the case. As I've mentioned before, there's a huge dirth of quality games on the market in regards to RPG's and storytelling, especially ones that are easy to pick up and play. For Mass Effect to fade into irrelevance without anything to replace it would be devastating to gamers like me.

With that said, the Citadel DLC is not without flaws. For starters the main conflict is a bit ridiculous and not well executed. The antagonist never really feels like a threat and obviously the plot twist is a somewhat laughable cliche. This is a bit concerning because one of ME3's biggest problems was execution of the overall plot. Make no mistake about it, character development does all the work in terms of adding to this DLC's score. The story is a poor mans Collectors abduction in that its a reason to go around and do something.

And while I understand it's use the increased emphasis on auto-dialog is a bit disheartening, even though it's not to bad this time around because the conversations especially those during the party and briefings are well written. Also I don't recall any neutral options.

I've only seen one LI scene but the "date" with Miranda seemed a little short. Granted she had a decent amount of content throughout the game but I was hoping for just another minute or two worth of content. It was good to have it but I was hoping for a bit more.

Cons
- Uninspired conflict. Especially after the likes of Shadow Broker, Stolen Memories, Arrival, Overlord, and even Leviathan.
- Continued use of Autodialog
- Mirandas date felt a little short.
- Sometimes jokes are a little to frequent. For example the "why do they have a Krogan" is funny at first but eventually it starts to get used a little to much. Granted though this is nitpicking on my part as most of the jokes were good.
- The ending is still there which for players like me makes it a little more difficult to fully appreciate the party, squad interactions, apartment, and LI scenes.

Overall though very good DLC and I put it just ahead of the Shadow Broker as the focus on characters is just outright excellent and in the end thats probably the most important element for me.

Ok the dlc was amazing! The club music in the game was boss did you here the music when your at the skycar lot with wrex? EPIC! Also it adds a fun less darker side of mass effect like the first installment.
