Loooooved the implication of the M-7 Lancer. Honestly one of the most cathartic parts of the whole trilogy. Don't know why anyone would have a stick up their butt about this one. Combined with the EC, this cures all of my original doubts and grievances, and turns this into the experience that I was hoping for.
Only complaint is that it's hard to find a good place for this to take place. I want to place it right after Rannoch, where everyone's spirits are high and everything looks on the up and up for the Normandy crew, but then we can't have Miranda. Doesn't feel right to put it after Sanctuary, because we're "on the clock" to get KL. Conflicted, but I'll deal. Not a huge problem at all, just have to remove it from the rest of the game. That's the whole point anyway, right?
Highlights (this is the spoiler discussion, right?: Normandy vs. Skycar showdown, Traynor's chess match, ME2 squad licenses, customizing the apartment, Thane's memorial, squad banter, Grunt in the shower, Archive conversation. And am I the only one who kind of liked the tongue-in-cheekness of the clone???

Agreed, it's hard to find a perfect spot to place it.  In my playthroughs I've played it right after Sanctuary, in which I make 3 save files, one for before the Citadel Mission, one for before the Citadel party, and the third one for continuing to the end.  That way I can replay either the mission, or if I just want to do the party I can do that.

I may have to do that again with this 3rd playthrough now that I have all the DLC, but just save the whole DLC until after the ending.

Although, there is some good fan fiction for after the ending too.

This one is good, especially if you picked Ash as your LI, and if you use MEHEM:  http://www.fanfictio.../New_Beginnings

The Citadel DLC really is the perfect ending to a great trilogy, as long as you're able to headcanon the space in between the actual ending and the Citadel DLC.

@agathokakological

I also did like the tongue-in-cheekness of the clone.  I know people will say that the clone as a villian is cliche, but it serves it's purpose very well.

The overriding theme and focus of the Citadel DLC is placed on Shepard being who he is because of the team around him.  The fact that Brooks didn't even run to save the clone says something, while everyone tries to save the real Shep.  That and his team coming to his rescue at the Sushi place, and all of them going along with to the Archives.

For that theme, the choice of a clone as villian is perfect.

I think that's why I loved this DLC the most, because the focus was put on character interactions and on all the characters we've grown to love the past few years, and being able to have them all there in one place.

My only gripe is that I do wish there was an option to invite Ashley to the apartment.  I mean meeting her at the bar was nice and all, but, seeing as by this time Ash is Shep's girlfriend there should have been more.

My absolute favorite DLC! great fan service at it's best :) Every Garrus moment made this worth every penny. I loved the party and all the banter made me laugh so hard. Great work bioware!

It was good still think there should have been a better ending. Seriously a Reaper's off button would have been better than the choices we got

MEHEM + playing the Citadel DLC after the ending made for a pretty good ending for me.

You're right though, there should have been a better ending.  At least a choice to have an ending like MEHEM.

My two cents:

I was a little dubious and skeptical after all the immense praise this DLC has gotten from fans and critics, so despite downloading it weeks ago I waited for the hype to die down before I finally got round to playing it and it blew me away.

It was hilarious (although I think it went a little overboard with in-jokes and Internet meme/mulitplayer references) it was sad at points, the romance scenes where great and getting a last moment to say goodbye with all the squadmates really gave you a great sense of closure and enjoyment. They put a lot of effort into this and has some fantastic moments and exchanges.

Although to nitpick: A couple of absences stuck out. Like Kelly and Chakwas and Hackett and Adams.
Also One other nitpick nobody in entire fanbase other than me cares about: I really liked the Retirement Home from Pinnicle Station and really missed it in ME2 and ME3 when it didn't appear or get mentioned. And then in this game being given a new pad and being told "You really need a pad! This is cool" kinda felt like a slap in the face, especially considering they didn't even have a throwaway line talking about the retirement home. IT would have been really cool if it at least came up.
Additional nitpick: Femshep needs bigger arms! Jesus Christ.

When the DLC ended and you heard "It was a good run." after what felt like a roller-coaster followed by Shepard saying "The best" it really did hit me hard and realize how much emotion and fun this franchise has gotten out of me.

And I have to agree. The Mass Effect series was never perfect and it had rocky parts, but it was one hell of a run and the absolute best video game series I have ever played.

It's a fantastic DLC and a fantastic way to cap off the Mass Effect Trilogy. I am sure I am not the only one who likes to think of this when I think of the end of Mass Effect instead of the controversial Catalyst Situation.

That said, It does make me worry because I know there is another Mass Effect game to come on the next gen consoles. Sure It'll make money so they'll make it, I get that. But this series felt so much like a trilogy, and this game + DLC wraps the story up so nicely and it feels like it's over now... I'm not so sure I want it to continue. Making me wary of the future.

An absolute and emphatic 9.5/10.

Anyone who is reading this who hasn't got this DLC yet needs to get it now. It might seem expensive but it is well well worth it and the critics are not exaggerating

I am calling Citadel as my favourite Mass Effect DLC. I am missing Overlord though.

So much to do, I had little complaints about it, and so much fun playing it.

Volus pizza boy?

Very good review.  I came away feeling the exact same way.  After watching the last scene for the first time I really did get pretty emotional realizing how much emotion and fun I have got out of this franchise, and that it was the last content we'd get from this group.  Think the choice of music had a lot to do with it too for that scene.

Hard to say if some of these characters might be in the next ME or not, but who knows.  I kind of hope so because we've grown to love them and they're already so well developed.

For me the one nitpick I have is that Ashley couldn't be invited over to the apartment.  I mean she did have the bar scene with Shep, but since she was Shep's LI it didn't seem like enough.  Especially when other females got the invite over to the apartment.

It really is hard to start playing the trilogy again from the beginning after playing this DLC as the ending.  It's just a perfect sendoff.

Staying on the Nitpick train, a new outfit for Shep would have been ideal. Femshep's black dress looks horrific and while Maleshep's outfit is fine, a new one would have been fantastic and made Citadel even more special.

I know this is a non issue for PC gamers but on consoles it's a pain. Especially when Miranada turns up in an awesome looking dress.

Agreed.

To go along with this I think new casual outfits would have been nice for each of the characters during the party scene.  I mean Ash was still in her blue uniform, she could have used a more casual outfit.  I could have seen her wearing the dress from the casino to the party at Sheps.

I loved it. From beginning to end. It was a great send off. I could not stop smiling the whole way through. So what if it is full of schlock, this type of dlc and what I like to think is an epilogue was awesome. The schlock was hilarious in that cheesy yet funny action movie type. All visits with crew were great. Some touching, some hilarious *grunt's escapade*. The party was entertaining, all the dialogue worked for a moment of levity.

I could go on for a while about this. All in all, excellent dlc, agreat send off. I just hate it all had to end. It has been a fun ride. I look forward to what you guys produce in the future.

P.S. being an architect in training, loved the apartment. Pure interior architecture porn.

So has anyone run into any bugs as a result of this DLC? For some reason I'm able to scan, but not actually get anything from, the planet Bres in the Balor system of Caleston Rift. You're apparently only supposed to be able to scan and get resources from Bres if you have the Leviathan DLC. This is a bug I've never run into before. The only thing new about this playthrough is the fact that I now have the Citadel DLC, so I can only assume that it's because of it that this bug happened. Anyone else have this problem or similar?

Had the same issue. I wasn't able to pick it up until I'd actually completed the first part of Leviathan.

Bought it as soon as it was out on PSN, and played it as soon as I finished downloading it. That was how excited I was to get my hands on this final DLC.

My thoughts: I loved every minute of it. It was a feel-good DLC, lots of funny moments and also sad, emotional ones that really tugged at my heartstring. And there was just something so heartwarming about Shepard fight alone then having everyone rush up to her aid. The Shepard clone was unexpected, but it made for interesting moral choice at the end, and also further validates Kaidan's reaction in Horizon and Mars. (By the way, whose idea was it to have Traynor's toothbrush saving the day? Funny stuff.)

The conversations were wonderful, and it was great to be able to spend time with all the squadmates I have grown with even for short moments. It was also a dream come true to have everyone (well, most of them anyway) in one place, interacting, having fun and just getting crazy.

And great job on the architecture! So in love with Shepard's apartment!

It was only after playing that it really hit me how final everything was. That this IS it. And my LI's (Kaidan) and Shepard's words at the end couldn't be any truer. It has been one hell of a ride - the BEST. And for that, thank you Bioware. It was the perfect send-off. :)

I had not yet played it interspersed with post-Citadel coup storylines as I used my last save, which was before Chronos Station, so there were odd... parts that would have made sense if they were triggered after or before a specific point in time. (Like where I had the party first, then I get a message from C-Sec telling me to get Grunt, who was supposed to be in the hospital recovering from wounds he sustained during his fight with the rachni. Or how Shepard had to set Garrus up with the female turian when he was already involved with Tali at the time I played it.) Can't wait to have a complete run with this and relive the experience.

Then you're missing out on the best scene in Citadel

Aw, no. Garrus is my bro. I assume you're talking about their date and the tango? A real shame because I would have wanted my Shepard (Shepard wouldn't want that, the dancing) to dance with him, too.

I'm really happy with Kaidan, though, so I don't think I actually missed out on much -- as far as my story playthrough goes.

Despite the fact that I was still hoping for some kind of post-ending DLC, which we obviously aren't going to get, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Yea, the story was cheesy, but that's what I liked about it. Most DLC for games are these serious ordeals, but not this, and it was kind of refreshing. I wish more games made DLC that didn't take itself so seriously.

It also provided a great send-off for the characters we've all come to love in the series. Definitely a good way to see them off. Do I think it's a good send off for the series as a whole? No, but it helps a little bit.

All in all, it was a good way to end a series I've enjoyed playing for the past 5 years, with the exception of the last 20 minutes of course.

^ This!!

I actually thought something was wrong with Clone Shep when she first revealed herself. I thought maybe she had some sort of severe muscle atrophy or something. Maybe they amputated her arms and sewed them onto FemShep (she did say she was used for parts) and she had skinny little mech arms under her suit? But yes, those biceps were severely underdeveloped and odd looking. It actually distracted me through most of her evil clone monologue.

Loved this DLC. Has to be my new favorite of all ME3's even if just for a nostalgic send-off for Shepard and all the wonderful characters that we've all grown to like throughout the trilogy.
It was bittersweet, and my one nit-pick was that unless she's dieing on sanctuary, Miranda and Shep never actually admit to loving the other in that form of words. I would have been completely satisfied if that had been stuck in there somewhere. But it's a minor thing xD

That final line delivered by Mark Meer "The Best", really summed up my whole experience for this trilogy, leaving all gripes about the endings out of mind. That DLC was a powerful way to say goodbye to Shepard and his crew. I was perfectly happy just ending my play-through there.

I know what you mean.  First time through with that final scene with Shep saying "The best".  It was the perfect goodbye and was very emotional.

I'm just glad it's a game though since I can just reload the game and see all the characters again.  That being said it's still kind of rough knowing it's over for these characters.  You sort of get an empty feeling inside.
