Oh, thanks for the conversation with Hannah Shepard. I like.

After reading all the posts in this thread I had decided not to get the DLC until I saw this post.  Now I am 50/50.  Then I see all we get is an email from mom?!?  No thanks I will save my money for something else.

No, a little conversation after an email notification. Not face to face though.

This is my last post on BSN. I loved the saga for years, I support the indoctrination theory, and my Shepard is waking up in London with the reapers out there, leaving me in a cliffhanger nightmare I can never wake up from, this is my punishment for trusting Bioware writers and getting engaged in this story.

Citadel DLC is a stinky cheesy TV episode of normady : high school days, an obvious post ending victory DLC shoved up in the middle of the game with one liners and references that took that side of me that admired the sophistication and touch Bioware was known about in their stories and broke it down to dust. Im talking now to any of the genius and fabulous writers from ME1 and ME2, the ones that built this beautiful world : Why you let this happen, why you let them kill mass effect with non-sense. Was it arrogance ? so unfortunate.

In this DLC they took my beloved comander shepard and turned her into a partying ******, who doesnt care about the ongoing reaper war or the reapers, a shamelest fanservice fest with Shepard and crew taking part on a script more worthy of charlies angels. Talking about an impostor shepard.

Time to leave ME behind, the awkening never arrived, the nonsense prevails, and Bioware have new "improved" fans with less demanding quality.

Good luck bioware, you are going to need it.

I agree but to a lesser extent, I thought the DLC was just too silly. I enjoyed hanging out with the gang one last time, but the tone was so silly and comedic throughout that it took me out of the whole experience. In my head I don't even treat it as canon and it seems the writers dont think so either.

I was hoping for a more serious DLC with emotional highs and lows, with comedic effect added in here and there, and of course some romance with our LI. What I got instead was a main storyline so silly and nonsensical that it broke the immerision of Mass Effect, the constant joking and breaking of the fourth wall just felt odd and not something I really wanted. Though if you dont take it seriously its an some what enjoyable ride, the main storyline is easily the lowest point full of repetitive shooting and uninspried level design, but all the crew interactions and the party are easily the best.

All in all I'd give it a 6/10, its not the kind of experience I was hoping for but for a silly non-canonical episode its alright.

I'm not one for writing down my opinions, but for this DLC, I feel compelled...
I thought that this was a good DLC, full of nods to the previous games and some great humour, despite what I've seen others saying, I thought that the main story was quite good; it may have lacked a little depth, but I thought it was enjoyable.

The party was fantastic, it was the true catharsis that I wanted from the ending, my only qualm with it was that I had romanced Liara, and couldn't see if I could actually romance Samara (if somebody could tell me if you can/can't, that'd be awesome)

I did have a big problem with the arena however, not because it was an arena, but that you could play with squadmates from ME2, which begs the question, why couldn't they be in the retail game?

Overall though, thoroughly enjoyed this DLC, if only this writing could be applied to the ending...

It started of strong, but for my the end was to cheezy, there was no tense or something during the last bossfight, shepard was just laughing at them. Also the toothbrush was waaaaay too silly imo, but the combat was fun, and most of the jokes where good

Now for someone that despise's the ending to ME3 and much about the game itself, Is it possible that this dlc could be percieved as an ending of sorts? As we all know we are not getting post ending dlc then i'll take what i can get, And by the sounds of it this dlc could interpret a " happy ending " of sorts... So as im not playing much in gaming as its quite, i wouldnt mind playing ME3 and ending it after this dlc ?

I loved it. I thought the quest was really good, and Shepard's comments about her hamster were priceless. But the party interaction truly made it shine. I loved me Shepard got to spend all that time with her LI, and the party was wonderful. So I give it 10/10

I thought it was great. Have to run to work now so I'm still in the party scene, I'll edit this post later tonight with detailed thoughts after I finish the party.

Here's the edit.  Oustanding DLC.  Incredibly bittersweet, it really hit me at the end (the finality of the series/dlc).  I was a bit disappointed in the general ME3 storyline's treatment of the romance and limited interactions with Tali (given how late she comes into the game), but this DLC gave me everything I was looking for.  The romance, dialogue, everything was spot on.  And the final scene heading back to the Normandy, "The Best" with Tali close to Shepard got me.  That one hit me pretty hard (all in a good way).

The DLC was cheesy as hell, but I loved every second of it.  I was legitimately surprised by the villain, which was cheesy but awesome.  The combat, pacing, music, setting, and overall atmosphere and lightheartedness was very welcome and enjoyable.

The party scene, and all of the personal interactions with squadmates that follow, what can I say?  They were damn cool, and I have a save set to experience that particular sequence whenever I want.

My only true gripe with this DLC is still the lack of Tali's face in-game.  I really wish that would have happened at some point before the trilogy was truly over.

Bioware, thank you for an awesome end to the trilogy.  Mass Effect will always have a special place with me, and you guys most definitely gave the series the send off it deserved,  I look forward to more Mass Effect (in the form of the next game, as well as the new comic series) in the future, and want to thank you all for your hard work and dedication.

My verdict, best 15 dollars I've spent in a very long time.  9.5/10 (That 0.5 missing is the lack of Tali's face, btw)

Been a long time fan of BioWare, since 2003 when I played Knights of the Old Republic, which is still one of my favorite games ever made. Then Mass Effect, then Dragon Age, ME2, DAII, ME3. Read the books, got my games signed Drew Karpyshyn, and got the figures. In 2010 I would have said they were the best gaming company of the time.

I've been hoping for a while that the endings weren't bad writing and that IT would be confirmed. I've been supporting BioWare for a long time. But this DLC just let me down, and Jessica Merizan tweeted that if we're not happy with Citadel then this isn't the franchise for us anymore. So until the ending is resolved one way or another, I won't be buying anything from BioWare, including DAIII. And if BioWare goes with Synthesis in ME4 then I won't have any interest in future Mass Effect stories at all.

Call me whiny if you want, but isn't it better to speak with my money, than to keep buying and complaining?

I quite liked the combat environments on the Citadel, and the Normandy fight was a neat idea, but the fights themselves were so brief, that was disappointing - the arena is not a substitute for good old-fashioned plot-moving fights. The bits of lore you get to watch in the archives were very interesting but seemed kind of random as to what the writers chose to include.

It was fun having Wrex around, and it is nice to have a little break partway through the game. And I actually liked the evil clone concept - a nice classic sci-fi plot. But like the combat, it felt like something promising that could have been fleshed out more. I had more satisfaction from Garrus' "fight your way around the Citadel to find someone" loyalty mission in ME2, which is disappointing. This one didn't flow as well, and because the only possible outcome was that Shepard would stop the clone and retake her identity, it wasn't as interesting and didn't compliment the high-stakes main game plot. For me, it would have been great to have something like the Normandy actually taking off with the clone aboard and having to go stop her from doing something really bad/do damage control on some mayhem she started, and *then* you take her down. Yes, yes, I know the DLC is called "Citadel", but still. :)

Overall, I think there were missed opportunities with Citadel that could have made it genuinely exciting as well as emotionally satisfying.

You know what screw it, I'll come out and say it: I liked the Tali song. It was extremely awkward in a very Tali way.

On the mission-y part: Thanks for not playing the clone part too seriously. Keeping the tone right stops what is just a really silly plot device from becoming grating. The mission-y part was solid and I certainly enjoyed it more than Omega.

On the other part: I could write a book on all of the stuff from the social interactions I liked. Knocked it out of the park, made me very happy and I don't regret a cent spent on this DLC. Whoever wrote Grunt for this deserves a promotion, medal, or a beverage of their choice.

So I'll just knock out a complaint real quick: If the combat simulator is all simulated, why not have Legion, Thane, and Mordin? I know I would've been extremely happy to have seen them even in that context.

But that's the only gripe that seemed to stick with me. And that says something. I'm still disappointed and bitter about the endings, another book that I'm too lazy to write. But in the context of this DLC, I was able to forget that for a few minutes for the first time in this game since I finished it and just laugh with the characters I'd come to love.

How do I say this without seeming harsher than I mean to?

Well I'll probably screw it up, so I'll just say things.

I did not like ME3 (I hear that I wasn't the only one). I thought the characterizations were, for the most part, pale. I thought the dialogue (which is not to be confused with the voice acting) was... disappointing. I thought the gameplay after the Cerberus attack on the Citadel was weak, and I thought the much debated ending would have made a nice ending for some other game, but not this one.

The Extended Cut didn't make things worse, but it didn't make things markedly better either. I didn't care for Leviathan, I thought it was implausible. I enjoyed playing Omega, but I didn't care much for the way it was resolved.

All of this said--I kind of love this DLC. There was a shaky moment where I was horrified to discover the nature of the antagonist, but when I stopped and took a breath I saw my reaction as a sign of excellent storytelling--which I felt was lacking in much of the rest of the game.

I could have done without the party device--like others have said, it's not entirely appropriate to the situation. But it doesn't bother me that it's there and I really enjoyed a last hurrah with the characters I've adored so much--that wasn't over a holo-connection in the middle of a warzone.

In my own roundabout way, I'm saying: This was good. It doesn't undo the bad, but it was nice to end on a good note. Kudos.

Yeah its kinda like watching a tv show with Shepard and his crew replacing Friends or episode of Big Brother in ME universe or something.

I appreciate what they were going for here but the fan service goes a little too high in gear leaving you in a sort of silly stupor wandering whether anyone is doing anything seriously anymore. The plot with a clone doesnt help either. Someone here said he felt like this is the dlc to the lowest common denominator of Biowares ME fans. Unfortunately I can say it kinda feels he hit the nail right on the head.

This dlc is nice for laughs and get togethers, but unfortunately thats all it is. Some would say it even happens in wrong time and would have loved to see something like this AFTER the ending, but alas it is not to be. I will say this however, its content gives more than Omega did and for the right people it is worth 1200 ms points.

So farewell to Shepard and his/her crew, and I can personally say I hope to see new Mass Effect stories and sequels from this wonderful universe expanding it, with new adventures, new species and new dangers! It certainly deserves it. Despite all the negativity, all the mistakes and all the lost potential, the universe still endures as long as there is still effort and passion in making it. Let it last long and prosper. At least this is what I hope... I hope...

Just dont do any prequels, please. Alternative universe would be ok or a continuation to the destroy ending maybe centuries after, but please, no prequels! And next time plan your story ahead, if you plan to expand it beyond a single game.

I enjoyed this DLC immensely...had the right mix of nostalgia, humor, action and story. I enjoyed the numerous activities with former characters and additional time with my LI. While it brought a smile to my face and "blurt-out" laughter, the fact I know how BioWare ended the series for "my Shepard" still stings...even with the vague hopefullness the EC ending provided. All in all, it was a fitting final DLC.

My thoughts:
It was fanservice. There were a lot of things in there that a lot of people wer ****ing about. And it was nice to see, even though I don't agree with all of them.
The story was clichéd and not that good, though I liked brooks as a villain, The script itself, however, fan-tastic. I doubt I ever had more fun in a mass effect game then when all of your teammates were fighting with you, bantering. That was glorious. You finally get to see all the relationships you worked on for over a 100 hours come together and meld into one beautiful coherent bond. I loved it.
The extra tricks like the casino are nice 'n all, but not necessairy. The simulator is cool though, also, old teammates, nice!!

All in all, yeah, the story is flawed and the dlc has some gimmicks, but it's worth buying for the full-team mission alone :)

well they want us to move on, They are done with the game now and want to start building up the next ME with lies and how epic it will be etc etc.... But they will never ever escape questions about ME3 and its ending, So i feel now would be a great time for them to come out and just say what the idea behind it all was, the DEM mechanic? The breath scene? Stargazer scene? Etc as if were gonna want to buy into there next game/story then we'll want to know why we should as they messed up the last 2 conclusions to a game ( DA2/ME3 ).
