Absolutely loved Citadel. Every part of it was just awesome. Just great. I'd buy a lot more like that :)

Wow, some people are beyond butthurt about it. Well, good riddance, we don't want you in our fanbase anyway if you can't have a little mindless fun once in a while.

I bet these people are working on their British accents right now. (No offense to actual British people, I mean the fakers. Whom I'm sure British don't like, either.)

Played through it again today. Still hilariously cheesy and awesome. There's so much content in this thing, it's astounding. For example, I just found out that a certain version of the quiet party features as an extended shout-out to those 'Mass Effect squad cocktails' that someone made a while back. As a fan of those cocktails, I was thrilled at the idea of Traynor mixing them for their respective characters.

I honestly loved all of it. It was the best dlc of all the Mass Effect games.

Hmm...and you know, it would be awesome if I could import that squad picture from my console and set it up as my desktop background. Even though Thane, Mordin, and Legion are all missing, it would still be great.

You can with 'Fraps' I know because I have it!!  I hope this helps!;)

as a customer I'd like a bit of a freebee occasionally, ya know...

Wait you want Citadel for free?

It's understandable to me that some would. After all the multi-player has had constant attention lavished on it until very recently, as well as five free multi-player DLC. We got the Extended Cut at no charge though, so that is something but it isn't hard to see why people may be miffed at the obvious bias toward multi-player.

Personally I loved the Citadel DLC. It shows that Bioware can still create great content when they want to. In fact the only complaint I can level at it is that it makes me think this "why on Earth couldn't they make the rest of the game this good!"

I'm tempted now to buy more DLCs but that doesn't change my mood.
I'm happily exchanging all my MultiPlayer DLC for the Citadel DLC.
DEAL?

One of things I loved most about the party is seeing how characters who hadn't met each other before interact. It's alright for characters like Garrus or Joker who know just about everybody, but it's even more cool seeing Traynor serve drinks to the Mass Effect 2 crew, Grunt hinting at some sort of schoolboy crush on Liara and Jack fending off the drunken advances of an amorous Prothean.

Absolutely awesome! Just great. Pure fun! Great job by BW. The party was too cool, seeing the ME2 crew back, the great funny lines everyone had and the clone was a challenging but so much fun fight! I hated omega but Citadel might even be better than LotSB. The combat simulator was really nice too and the phantom armor was SWEEEEEEET!

Great DLC. The actual struggle against the antagonist was sort of pointless, but it wasn't about the antagonist anyway. It was about Shepards squadmates and friends. Even the clone realized in the end that it's the friendships that made Shepard who he is.

Plus, I really love the M-7 Lancer.

Unfortunately, the ending of ME3 and the series is still incomprehensibly bad. The DLC is worth the money, but I'd continue to be extremely sceptic over future Bioware releases. Don't pre-order, wait until others confirm quality.

Wow, I couldn't read all 50 pages of comments, but judging from the first half, this DLC got very different reactions! I can see why. It's quite a departure from the general tone of the series (especially ME1) and as many have said, doesn't really fit into the story of ME3 at all. In fact, playing it felt a bit like a guilty pleasure, like reading a piece of fluffy fanfic you know will never be canon.

I'm kind of torn about it, but I have to say overall I did enjoy it. The reviews made me want to pick up the single player again after months of bitterness, and I don't regret it.

So, to add a few specific comments (probably nothing new, but since we were asked...).

The good:
- The party. It was silly, but just so much fun! There's a quiet and an energetic version of it, but I like to think they both happened, just at different times in the evening. I laughed so much! Grunt not letting people in, Garrus and Zaeed wiring Shepard's flat up to keep out intruders, Kasumi going through Shepard's underwear, Wrex, Javik and Zaeed shooting at bottles... I could go on!

- Generally funny dialogue throughout. The Mr Biscuits line for Brooks, and pretty much every single thing Traynor said! A few cool background conversations too.

- The archives. They were fun, though I think some of the recordings were unlikely to exist. But overall I really liked the whole design of the place.

- The mission in the casino. It was simple, but I liked having different goals from the usual shooting stuff. An infiltration mission is fun once in a while.

- The LI scenes, specifically the one with Liara. Ok, I'll admit I do enjoy the romance parts of the game, though only as a short reprieve from the main action. Although I didn't like Liara's flirty lines in the casino part of the game, I did like the bit with the piano, where we got a glimpse of her awkward self again. I haven't had a chance to play with any other LIs, so can't comment on those.

The bad:
- That dress! That Diana Allers dress that FemShep wears to the casino is ugly and cheap-looking and not at all what Shepard would wear - not mine, and probably not any. It really bothered me when I had to run around in it for ages. I wish we could have had a new outfit, or even a choice? My FemShep might not even have worn a dress at all.

- Auto-dialogue and other auto-actions. There aren't many conversation options for Shepard, and not much way to affect what she says and does. For example, she's often seen drinking (wine, beer, shots) in the latter part of the DLC, which I felt should be a choice the player could make. At least we could choose whether to gamble or not!

- The villain. It really rattled me to have another Shepard walking around - perhaps that was the intention, but then it's played for laughs and the clone gets no build-up or character development. I really had no idea what to do with her at the end. Brooks made for a better villain (though I do sort of miss her awkward nerd side!)

- A bit too much self-reference. While I enjoyed the light-heartedness, it was sometimes too much for my tastes. So for example, while I really laughed at the Blasto ad in ME2 (it was a small titbit of humour in a more serious game), meeting him in this DLC kind of ruined it for me. I didn't find it very funny and it just seemed too forced and unlikely. Too many memes and it broke the fourth wall often enough that it broke my immersion. Which leads me to my last point...

- This stuff should have been in the main game. Not in its current form, of course, as it doesn't fit in well. But even just half that amount of interaction with the squad members, if integrated and spread out in the main game, could have been welcome comic or emotional relief. As it is, it's too much all at once and it just feels...self-indulgent.

I'm so torn, it's hard to sum this up adequately. I suppose I'd like to say thank you for providing more time with our squadmates and one last mission, even if I can't really think of it as canon. And I really hope lessons were learnt from ME3! The ME series is over now (Shepard's story at least), but I'll be watching for the next game.

Oh, another good thing: that phone call with Hannah Shepard! I loved that touch, though I'd have liked it to be longer and it would have been even better to meet her in person (surely it's possible to generate a model mother character based on Shepard's appearance? Or even a few different models like in Dragon Age II?) Shepard is such a strong independent character, it's nice to see a family member caring about her. Of course, this only applies to Spacer Shep, but...

I overall loved it. It may be fanserviced up but after that ending, the game needed some fan-servicing.

Pros:
-Way, way, WAY more LI content, for once my Shep and Kaidan seemed like lovers.
-Most the ME2 cast made it back, and thank god for that. Zaeed and Javik should get married!
-Beautiful in almost every way
-The battle arena is amazing!
-It was fun seeing the ME1/3 casts interact with the ME2 cast.
-Talking to Mom.
-Brooks did her job well. I actually said "if Bioware doesn't let me keep her as a squad member after this I'm gonna cry." Then she turned on me. Excellent.

Cons
-A clone? Really?
-Drs. Chakwas & Michel, Kelly Chambers, Diana Allers and Engineers Adams, Ken & Gabby, and Major Kirrahe (which I added because I love him) were all ENTIRELY missing from this DLC, you don't even have the option to invite them and have them refuse, it's almost like they all (excluding Chakwas) don't exist. Speaking of which, HOW THE HELL did Chakwas refuse my invitation even though I didn't invite her??
-When you said fan favourites like Jack and Miranda could rejoin our squad temporarily for the duration of the DLC, I didn't realise it was ONLY for the Armax Arsenal Arena. Kinda sorta false advertising, and made me sad.
-Jack's invite for the Silversun Strip was bugged for me.
-All male humanoid characters wore the EXACT SAME SUIT. Kind of a cop-out.
-A bit on the shorter side.

All in all though, awesome bit of DLC. Though I have to ask. Why is there an Alternate Appearance Pack "1" when it is the only one at all? And can we keep our suit in the casual outfit section rather that get rid of it? And can we PLEASE get the N7 hoodie for our Sheps?

About the characters being missing, I understand the VAs were probably unavailable but still.

Oh and a clone? Really? Really!?

Finished it last night. Lot of content, all of it is good and surprisingly worth it's steep price. Outstanding story, and although normally I'm not a fan of going so meta, this time it worked for me. Don't know why.. Looking forward to replaying it with my other characters.

The facial animations are a whole head and shoulders above ME3 in the DLC, all these little nuances didn't go unnoticed. Was always something that I felt was a problem with the games, facial expressions were very "blocky" and so were movements. Glad to see the DLC has improved massively these.

Don't forget the recycled Cerberus Assault Trooper and Guardian voice for the CAT6 enemies (Specialists and Heavies respectively). If you didn't hear any, try punching them. You'll definitely hear the Assault Trooper voice on your clone and... Brooks?! Thank god the CAT6 Sniper was unique. No Nemesis screams.

I really don't think this dlc was a great dlc. Some parts of this dlc I didn't care about like the fact that your fighting a clone you. Some jokes I laughed like Wrex always wanting to fight in the CIC on the normandy, that was new or some banter with your LI and I loved some of the garrus bits and the tango. A lot were just used up from what was in the forms that was too late to be used like SHEPARD!!!!

The very begining of the dlc, the combat really was like a spy game. It's not a spy game. I'm a vanguard, I like to rush into bad guys and nova. Though do have to say the battle with the clone was great and different.

I liked the party but to me it seemed to be in the forms about what people would of wanted to see and was in fanfic.

This was a better dlc than Omega and Leviathan.

EDIT--- FINISHED IT.   Wow, I'm impressed.  I think Bioware has won my forgiveness.

I loved it overall!

-- PROS --

- Having Commander Shepard fight a clone of his/hers was a nice touch.

- The "Citadel: Party" mission was great through and through! (Seeing Shepard's squadmates from all 3 games mingling with each other having a good time just brings a smile to my face)

- Joker laughing at the idea of Shepard offering to dance with him/her is pretty funny.

- Joker responding to EDI's comments about comparing his dancing to Shepard's dancing with "Aww low blow!" was funny too.

- The M7 Lancer Assault Rifle & M-11 Suppressor Heavy Pistol are nice weapons!

- Having Wrex as a squadmate again is so nice, even if it's only for the DLC & Armax Arena only.

-- CONS --

- A few of the teaser posters were partially misleading (Showing Miranda and Jack as if they assisting Shepard in the DLC's "Anti-Shepard Conspiracy" main story when they're not in the final product.)

- The N7 Defender Armour isn't included in the DLC!

I thought it was terrible and shameless fan service. Completely misplaced in the tone of the narrative. I chuckled a few times sure, but the story was very weak and I have a hard time believing Shepard and gang gather for shore leave as the Reapers dismantle the galaxy.

It's a shame the real issues with ME3 will never be addressed and the flaws of the finale continue to be ignored.

This being because they don't see any of them as flaws.

Of course, like I said, this is an ending DLC they refused to put at the end. Character closure, shore leave, one final reunion - all something that could have elevated the game into a more favorable view. Stubborness prevented that, and so we have a DLC that is heavily polarizing between love it and hate it.

I was skeptical about Citadel, but I had a spare 12 dollars and the local take away was closed, so I bought it, best decision I made, absolutely loved it. And I was one of the hardcore "Hold the Line" types last year. The butthurt in this thread also leaves me staggered and convinced that ME fans are truly worse than 40k fans(which I am also one).

Clone was a touch cheesy and the concept of forced shore leave grated with me a bit, loved everything else about it though.

I think some people are just grumpy. I've been a fan since the ME1 days and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The shore leave worked, the Normandy needed repairs.

Edi even said this pre the DLC

But that wasnt' the issue. They said they'd address issues that the majority felt needed addressing. Every major poll has the majority voicing displeasure still with the ending and that will never be changed. Further outlined is the ignorance by their PR people who say the majority do not feel this way and that polls were conducted internally. That's nonsense, take a look around.

If they chose to detach this story from the reality of the game, I would have been fine with it. The way it is implemented and suggested to be a part of the game is absurd and completely invalidates any of it.
