I just finished playing this about 2-3 days ago.

I'm not going to lie at all, I was sobbing during the very last scene. I think it was the combination of the music and the complete feeling of "bittersweet." You get moments like that now and then, but I don't think none of them have come close to this; and this is just a video game.

So, with that being said...VERY well done Bioware on keeping your word that it would "bring tears." It sure did for me.

As for the rest of it, it was completely satisfying. Hands down the best Mass Effect DLC. The variation was great, the setup was great, and the boss fight in it was completely satisfying, and a suitable 'final boss', if we were to ever have one for the Mass Effect series. Major, major props. 10/10.

I'll give it a 8/10. It was overall entertaining and a nice change of pace from the dire mission against the reapers. Not enough intense LI moments though... :/

10/10. Would definetly bang again

Also, discovering that Mordin was talking about Aria while mentioning Omega in the Datapad: Mind Blown
"I broke Omega's Rule in more than one way"

Boss Battle: Great! Finally someone who uses medi-gel... Though, Brooks died in and after the cutscene she was back into battle again... But I'll pass that.

Humor: Great!

Conversations, reunions, groups, Inviting people, activities, games: More than Great

A new hub!

I'd give it a 9/10. Best DLC ever. Sure, it is fanservice, but very well done. The banter and the private moments with squadmates was really nice. The plot was a bit generic, but loved the final battle with your clone.

And seriously? People who actually haven't played the DLC are going to comment on how bad it is? And the butthurt-people on the endings is still here? Why haven't you all moved on already?

Exactly. This is the Citadel DLC Thread, not some "Endings, did you like it or not and why" thread

We're here because this DLC plays better as an ending than anything else. Because it strongly appears to have been made (at least in the party) as an ending DLC but then stuck right in the middle of the game.

It's quite on topic and relevant to the DLC whether you want to hear it or not.

And why should we move on? It's rather annyoing when people use the term "butthurt" for legitimate concern/problem. I don't see anyone telling the people who liked it to move on. The game left a legacy that is greatly hurt by the ending. This DLC was the last hope for that, and could have been amazing for it. A few lines of dialogue and sticking it at the ending and a great many people would have been happy with the closure Shepard deserved, even if the catalyst nonsense remained.

A missed opportunity. Topic is relevant, and I see no reason only the people loving the nonsensical :wizard: and lack of closure should stick around. The fact that the dislike has endured for this long should be a message to EA/Bioware.

If the people willing to voice the problems all move on, quality will drop. it always does. It already has.

As I said, I really like this DLC, but I'm confused as to why they worked so hard to create what would have sent Mass Effect off in the style it deserved and then didn't use it as such. Call me butthurt if you must, but that doesn't make what I (and however many others) see any less legitimate or true.

Seeing Mass Effect 3 at $19.99 a month after release proved that. So maybe consider that an opinion that is disagreeable to your own might actually be legitimate.

I don't care what any of the others think..I LOVED IT! The clone story is cute, and it's a great way to have the whole team on a mission together. The interacting is just as it should be. Total fan service? Absolutely! That is what all games are supposed to be...fan service! If you aren't a fan...why care either way? I play this after the MEHEM...and it seems as though it was meant to play in a way that fits that mods ending, or in a way to fit as a last goodbye before the original 3 endings...which I won't get into.

Mass Effect's greatest strength has always been the relationships and friendships. This mod showcases both very nicely. On a side not...IT'S ABOUT TIME I SAW BIOTIC SHEP IN A CUTSCENE...even if it's his clone!!!!! JEEEZZ!! My Shep has always been an adept. A soilder IMO is just another guy/gal with a gun. Never played any other class besides adept through 3 games and countless play throughs. I don't care about popular. I play what I like.

Thanks VERY MUCH for creating this mod! I greatly enjoyed it...and will continue to enjoy the trilogy with this being the TRUE ending.

I am playing this for the first time and my LI is Ashley. I understood that your LI came to help you out first after the initial attack and running from the bad guys. However Liara has showed up, not Ashley. Is this a bug? Anyone have any input on this?

I just wanted to give a big thank you to Bioware.

I was upset with the endings. I'll say it now. I envision Citadel as sort of an "afterlife" for my Shepard. The last scene in Lost before we all "move on"

But Mass Effect was a big part of my last four years. I played through the trilogy multiple times. I can say the universe is my favorite, as are the characters. They are #1 in my list of fictional characters. As I've gotten older as the series has gone on, I've had less time to play. Do I want one more play through, romancing Jack? (Whose content I love in Citadel?) Yes. Do I have time anymore? Not really, no. I've spent all my free time up until now to get to here. And I think this will be my final goodbye to these characters and this story, but above all else the characters, who have been fictional "friends" for years. Garrus, Liara, Kaidan, Wrex, Jack, Kasumi. Time to say goodbye. And to the newer people who fit right into the group. EDI, James, Steve.

The mission was fun. I laughed at many parts, it was just that, plain fun. It wasn't too serious. It was me and my team kicking behind and cracking jokes along the way. Even Javik joined in Image IPB

I just wanted to thank BW and all the artists, writers, actors, and everyone else who put the work into this story, to sum it up so beautifully with such a cathartic ending. This is my true ending, and it felt like some of the real parties I've been to (as somene who isn't a party-boy). It's a blast. But as it winds down and after there is a melencholic feeling that settles over (As Liara says "The apartment seems so quiet now"). The all night  party I had after High School graduation, the one I had the last night of college. We all know it's goodbye, as afterwards we are going our seperate ways. But it was a good ride, "the best". After this virtual party I will be going my seperate ways with the characters and in a lot of ways, gaming in general.

Played it, the scenes were great, the tone and plot didn't fit the main story though and was too cliched (another betrayal, how surprising *yawn*)

The cooperative team effort is something I would like to see carried over to new titles. It helps to see how everyone of the buddies you drag along are actually somehow useful.

Citadel was very much a labour of love. The sheer volume of throwbacks and content in the package was incredible. It was the best sendoff for a story I've seen in gaming.

I loved it...
There was adventure, melodrama, heroism, anti-heroism, strong characters, and trademark quirkiness...
The heart and soul of Mass Effect was there...

It was a smart idea to lampshade the clone. If the characters were dead serious about the clone it wouldn't have worked. It was also a good property to have a clone story. The character customization options affecting the villain added a new layer of interactivity...

The clone was arguably the best boss fight in the trilogy, and managed some pathos to boot...

Each of the four core missions brought something unique to the table...
The party was among the most offbeat and unique things I've seen in fiction...

My only major complaints were people talking over each other in the citadel archives mission, absolutely nothing Geth related and the quasi-subtle attempts to justify the ending...

It was the best Mass Effect DLC bar none...

Did you invite Ashley back onto your ship after the coup? Otherwise she won't show up...that's the only thing I can think of causing the flag not to trigger...

OK BW I finally finished my Fshep playthorugh!

Positives

- She wasn't asked to do anything too stupid or macho when she was fighting herself I liked that

- Fshep and Garrus after the party was way more cute and personal then Mshep and Tali's " I'm Sick!" moment However them being clothed after his comment was still bad really his comments mean they should at least be under the covers and she'll get dressed off screen.

- The tango moment! That was fun! and a real reason why I play both shep types because of moments like this you should more variations in the playthroughs like this where it happens for one but not the other. Iike I've said before the more variant male only or female only moments you have for each playthrough the more its worth it to play the other sex.

- BECAUSE of the tango moment I was inspired to beat the Aramx Arena under mshep I had no such desire to beat it only with fshep after the tango moment did I feel inspired to beat the arena with my boyfriend.

Negatives

- You made fshep butch again when you had Vega challenge her to beat his 182 pullups really? This was ridiculous! Fshep should challenged him boxing or running or combo up things to beat him not do a fantasy I'm so body builder Helga moment! Though in terms of butchfest you guys do with her the Yahg is still the worst fallowed by this moment, then the whole shove spector girl out the window, oh yeah and then shoving that merc out the window.

- Vega.....at the party.....why does he have to be mandatory invite?

- Still horrid and unnecessary to have Traynor and Edi's vivid talk why did you include this again BW?

- Again poor timming with the party I just got done killing my clone/self and you want a party?

- No character development for fshep other then I don't want to talk about it. Sorry you found out yo ugot cloned and even you don't care? You seriously needed to have character development and have shep give a damn about having her cells taken w/o her knoledge.

- No character and relationship development between shep and her LI both of these people would be effected by clone appearance

- No council meeting to clear things up I would've like to be there for that.

Ok here we go loved the DLC , it was challenging, the enemy AI of CAT6 was better than all other enemies in the SP game, like the Armax arena , being able to furnish my apt. was nice
Now for the negatives:
The Armax arena armors why Cerberus?
Still no why to wear armors without the helments, why?
Just wish there had been a LOTSB...like moment where we got to drive a sky car or shuttle.
But other than that it was the best DLC for me since LOTSB....thanks BW

I liked it a lot.

The interaction with the different team mates along the way, after the main mission, was funny and needed. It fleshed out some more character traits and gave us more insight into Shepard's relationship with them. I especially appreciated the scene with Samara - if your Shepard tried to come on to her in ME2 and she politely told you to drop it.

I liked the clone as well. While it seemed a little rushed as a mission it does give BW some manuevering room to write a f/u to ME3 with the clone and all - if you've choosen the blue or green option endings. Can you imagine all the emotional ups and downs if the different people who've come to know and love the 'orginal' Shepard and are presented with the 'replacement' - hard to live up to a legend. And where did the clone Shepard come from anyway if it wasn't Cerabus (SP?)? In one of Amanda's cameos with Shepard, Shepard asks her about the clone and she denies having made one. That as far as she knew she was working only on the SHEPARD.

As to all you guys that think relaxing and taking some time off during an important war is the wrong thing to do; why does the real military grant "leave" to their soliders during war time? To get R&R so their in better shape and not so fatigued going back into the action. So I saw nothing wrong with that aspect of the DLC

Every major poll has the majority voicing displeasure still with the ending and that will never be changed.

Majority of polltakers != majority of ME players

The fact is that unsatisfied people are more likely to look for ways to voice their dissatisfaction... such as taking polls.

If you guys were truly correct, every single ending video on Youtube that wasn't Destroy or Refuse would be buried in dislikes.

There was plenty of LI development.
Why would the Council get involved? The situation was dealt with.

Mass Effect has been a big part of my life also these past years from the first game until just finishing the DLC at 4 am this morning.  It was the best part of the game, and the storyline was a big surprise and the depth of the story along with the wonderful references to past battles, friendships was a welcome relief to the rest of the game, which became like a sad, long goodbye that broke my heart.  I was devastated by the ending of the game, cried for a week (no lie).  This was a better way to remember all the Shepards I have nurtured over the years and all the friends along the way.  Sounding very maudlin now, but it's true, my experiences during the game have made me a better person and inspired me to become more like my Shepard.  Back to the DLC - it was fun, exciting, interesting, touching, and upbeat - which was lacking in the long funeral march the rest of the game turned out to be.  Very well done, and well appreciated.  I think I will make it the ending to all my games.  I like it much better.  Never underestimate the power this story has had on the fans.

Nothing more than a bone being thrown to the fans. It had character closure, but the whole thing was very cliche and not really in sync with the feeling of the series. Also this was more of an ending then what the ending provides, though stuck in the middle of the game it's very out of place. The entire flow of narrative coherency was completely off for the entire game as a whole, one main reason I think it fell short of epic, and all the DLC's for ME3 seemed like complete tangents that had no bearing on the story what so ever, except Leviathan which should have been in game content to begin with. Oh Bioware, your actions of leaching money off the consumer by purposely leaving core story plots out for personal gain just makes me sick. I watched all DLC's on youtube as I couldn't bring myself to spend one dime on this crap. I can't support a company that does bad business. I think we can blame EA mostly as they were voted worst company in America for the 2nd year in a row. But Bioware I am ashamed at you.

MP isn't needed - if you have extended cut you only need 6200 TMS (3100 EMS) to get all the endings.

Great DLC. The storyline would have worked better with more justification for shoreleave, or as an ending story, but overall everything was fantastic. The idea of "fanservice" -- doing something that fans will enjoy – is too derided these days. You all did amazing on this one.
