I found it great. The story is good, did not see it coming, but it made sense. Good pacing, great settings. The gameplay is surprisingly varied for Mass Effect, and the additional stuff you can do afterwards is a very nice. The character interaction is great for the most part, and often hilarious. Absolutly in love with this DLC.

I enjoyed the DLC - there was obviously a lot of effort went into it. Yes, it was lighter in tone, the battling was not too harsh, and there was a lot of ME lore to be had if you chose to take the time to go over it. I am not sure what people were expecting - but once I had heard that there was a party involved and that it was "all hands on board" I was in. There is plenty of somber, harsh-themed material in the game that a little fluff was warranted. IMO.

This DLC is just so bad. It's not even approaching acceptable. The whole thing is so out of place for the story, it feels like splicing a scene from 'Weekend At Bernie's 2' into 'Schindler's List.' I can't get over how flimsy and childish the entire premise for the DLC is. "Shepard, war is hell. Go chillax at your brand new pimp-pad. And while you're there, play casino games, mack on people and enjoy the war simulator." And the story is just awful. Truly awful. The whole point of this DLC was obviously fanservice for the romance crowd and it shows. It's full of lame sex jokes, tired meme references, and lousy comedic writing in general that would have been out of place at any point in any Mass Effect game. And the characters that we love have been whittled down to their catchphrases essentially. The additional "romance" content is pointless, lackluster at best. They couldn't even get their own characters right for it. This is some of Bioware's laziest, most half-hearted content to date.

Do not buy it if you're not bound and determined to buy every piece of ME content for the sake of it. If you're curious, watch it on YouTube. Do not reward this "effort."

This is my last post on BSN. I loved the saga for years, I support the indoctrination theory, and my Shepard is waking up in London with the reapers out there, leaving me in a cliffhanger nightmare I can never wake up from, this is my punishment for trusting Bioware writers and getting engaged in this story.

Citadel DLC is a stinky cheesy TV episode of normady : high school days, an obvious post ending victory DLC shoved up in the middle of the game with one liners and references that took that side of me that admired the sophistication and touch Bioware was known about in their stories and broke it down to dust. Im talking now to any of the genius and fabulous writers from ME1 and ME2, the ones that built this beautiful world : Why you let this happen, why you let them kill mass effect with non-sense. Was it arrogance ? so unfortunate.

In this DLC they took my beloved comander shepard and turned her into a partying ******, who doesnt care about the ongoing reaper war or the reapers, a shamelest fanservice fest with Shepard and crew taking part on a script more worthy of charlies angels. Talking about an impostor shepard.

Time to leave ME behind, the awkening never arrived, the nonsense prevails, and Bioware have new "improved" fans with less demanding quality.

Good luck bioware, you are going to need it.

This happens with all of Bioware's DLC discussions. Negative threads are locked, the mods citing the existing feedback thread(where dissenting opinions can be drowned out by the "zOMG Bioware nailed it again!" lot), but the positive threads heaping praise upon the content are left open.

How was it in the wrong place?

It was directly related to the story/campaign part of the DLC with spoilers. Where else would it go?

I'm gonna post the thoughts I put up on another thread, seeing as you asked for them, Bioware.

"Watched a fair bit of the DLC so far on Uroboros' channel. So far... Its... okay, you know?

The plot running through it seems weak, I don't hold any illusions over that. If the villain is what I've hear it is, then its outright lame. I'm only maybe halfway through the plot side of things though, so my opinion of that may improve.

Most of the character bits are silly, out of place in the surroundings of the Reaper war, and at times make your eyes roll, but sometimes they are fun, touching, and satisfying. However, I can't get over the feeling that those heartwarming moments were absent from the game itself when they really needed to be there at launch. It still galls me that something as basic as squad interactions like this wasn't included in our core game and had to be shipped separately like this. Feels like we the fans are being fed the core game piecemeal while paying an exorbitant sum for it.

It does nothing to fix ME3, so sadly there's nothing there to convince me to buy it, otherwise it is good enough on its own to be worth buying. If I could have played it separate from ME3, then I'd buy it, but I can't bring myself to slog through several hours of crap to restore a save that allows me to play this.

TL:DR its okay so far. Don't expect miracles from the plot. If ME3 itself was even remotely acceptable to me, then I'd buy this DLC like a shot. But because Bioware refuse to fix the core experience, I won't pour good money after bad."

If I may make a final appeal: Please, Bioware, try finishing Shepard's story again. I implore you, for the good of the video game medium, for the good of your IP, for the good of storytelling, try again! Have Mass Effect Next be an alternate version in a parallel universe, embrace IT, or just choose to do another ME3 that ignores the current version, but please, give us the payoff we need from this franchise! I know it can be done, all you need to do is have the balls to try it. You've shown us with this DLC that you understand why the characters are important to us, you've given us plenty of games with plots that kept us hooked, and your visual and audio design is spot on, now incorporate that into ME3 mark 2.

I believe in you, Bioware. Do right by your craft.

Thread got locked. Posting here:

My thoughts on the DLC...what could have been.

It's no secret the vast majority of fans hate the endings. CleverNoobs recent video definitively proves that. And honestly, the EC was a ****** poor attempt to rectify the issue. Then followed two other DLC's which were very underwhelming and also did nothing to adjust the endings, yet alone affect it.

Now we have the Citadel. I'll keep this short. This DLC could've been a masterpiece. It was downright hilarious from start to finish. It contained loads of dialogue with the characters we all love. It showed the fun side of Shepard and his friends. It had the closure we all wanted with the characters.

It had a rather silly plot. Seriously, a clone? What dingbat thought of that idea? That's what you see in bad late-night Sci-Fi movies. The entire mission seemed like a joke, with all the (good) humor and ridiculous storyline. How can you do this in the middle of a galactic invasion? You don't take shore leave when Reapers are killing a million people per minute!!!

However, that's the problem. This DLC takes place in the middle of the game. While pretty entertaining, once it's over, it's over. You continue the game and eventually reach the unforgivable endings and now you're sad again. And angry.

Bioware, you dropped the ball. If you would've listened to fans and fixed the endings, this Citadel DLC could've occurred afer the ending and would've been the GREATEST DLC in the history of DLC. The ridiculous storyline would've solved itself because, hey, the war is over! We won! Who cares! The character interaction was what everyone was looking for too! Closure at last!

Honestly, after watching this DLC, this just FEELS like the end. If the game was over at that picture taking, that would've been so incredibly satisfying...I cannot even tell you.

I just...man. It was a good effort. But not fixing that ending...it just ruins it. Seriously, this DLC would've been PERFECT as post-ending DLC. PERFECT.

How can you put this in the middle of the game? Shepard and Joker have a conversation that LITERALLY calls this sort of thing ignorant. Reapers killing millions and everyone on the Citadel has no idea. Now they made "Ignorance is Bliss: the DLC"

Gives me 6 headaches every time I think about it.

Decent action with heavy fanservice with the usual contrived plot (Shepard relaxing on the Citadel whilst Anderson's people are dying by the score on Earth... and do these random people not having anything better to do? Half of them aren't even on the crew, yet they drop whatever Justicar business they are involved in to party? Serious? Who wrote that bovine excrement?), bad writing (Shepard not reacting in any to the clone, much like Shepard didn't react to having died and been resurrected) and meaningless choices (no matter what you do, the clone dies... what could have been indeed).

If you are happy with ME3 then you will probably like it; on the other hand, if you want what ME3 should have been according to developer interviews (e.g. Rachni having a large impact on ME3) then the DLC will do nothing.

Because it does not fit with the theme. It would be like making a zombie movie, with a party in the middle that had nothing to do with zombies. Outside everyone is dying, but inside its all jokes, laughing, and singing. Oh, and there are some clones running around for good measure. It does not fit!

Love the interaction with squad and theirs to each other. Story was ok but I saw Star trek Nemesis and The Mummy all over it.

You're not discussing what you've seen either; you're just here to troll.

Are you brain dead? neither were you discussing about the dlc so you also dont have a say in this thread... Also the guy before him did say things about the dlc not to mention it was constructive feedback.

This DLC would have been nice if it was ''FREE''

It was decent considering I paid 15 bucks for it.

I have to say that I loved it. Best DLC I've ever played. Admittedly, I face palmed at the whole clone thing, but everything else was just so good. The squad mate interaction, the references, attention to detail, art direction, extra LI content, and the humour! I was laughing out loud every other minute! Think I'll actually start a new trilogy play though so I can do everything, though I will be interested to see how I feel about it all after the ending.

People are really praising the interaction?

There wasn't very much of that at my party. Shepard listened to the other guys and occasionally chimed in with some auto-dialogue.The only time the dialogue wheel came up was when talking to Glyph.

Sure, there were a couple of of those pick one or other other choices, but it still struck me as a little lazy. The rest of the crew interacted nicely between themselves, but i was left a little let down.

The encounters with crew on the Silversun strip were a little better. Zaeed's made me laugh, as did Grunt's, and Thane's memorial service and Samara's visit to the apartment were nice. but few others reached that level of quality.

I thought that the mission part of the DLC was pretty good though... but i do agree that the writers are relying too much on 'memes' and catchphrases. Maybe it's not so much a problem here - as the obvious purpose is to be a feel-good send off for Shepard and his crew - but i'd hate to see future games follow this path.

 I thought so far- fantastic.

Such a great focus on characterzation, so much voice acting, entirely tongue and cheek- a nice transition from a game that can sometimes seem dreery.

As well-  seeing all of the different "Casino Enterances" alone was AMAZING

Video incoming

In the background of the video i can hear the song that plays in ME 2 Kasumi`s  mission on the planet Bekenstein
just when you walk in to the party you hear it.

The DLC was visually stunning. It was excellent to have Wrex on the team again and I don't think there was any part of this DLC I didn't like. I was a bit worried that we were visiting the tired old Citadel again, but everything just seemed so exciting and new. Brook is my new favourite character, I loved her fumbling ways.
The final boss battle was rather gorgeous to look at and I loved that the difficulty was so high at the beginning. I found myself asking the TV nicely for my armour back please.
The only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't take Wrex with you once the mission was over. It was great to fight alongside a Krogan again. More Miranda or Jack banter/fighting would've been rather fun too.
I can't really complain. There was so much work put into this DLC and it was a beauty to behold and a real fun adventure to boot. If you want serious, go for Leviathan. If you want excellent level design and fighting, go for Omega. If you want something fun, beautiful and a krogan team mate, get this!

Bioware, hats off to you. Great dlc, love action comedies! Right now I am meeting with characters and I must say the javik and traynor meet ups are funny as hell. Anyway it is a fun lighthearted dlc with action.
Favorite part of the mission dlc portion is the Normandy sequence! And Wrex. I hoped there would be more archived history in the citadel archive portion, but what was there was interesting. Anyway fun dlc. Thank you.

This is less feedback more of a question:How do you get Wrex to appear in the DLC if this DLC only opens up AFTER the Citadel coup, which, if memory serves me, is AFTER Tuchanka? Ergo, Wrex not available?
