that's exactly why i only play for fun, not to take the game too seriously.

And yet you made a huge long post about why it shouldn't be nerfed. Methinks you're full of it.

Oh wow, Good joke there.
Oh wait, you honestly think that the vast majority of people who want to BALANCE, NOT NERF the AIU have NEVER played her to actually determine if she needs it? Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB
Oh man your funny.

Juggernaut isn't OP. A team full of skilled players will ALWAYS finish matches faster with no Juggs in the party and using 4 big DPS classes. Don't get me wrong, one well-played tanking Juggs can be great for more average-skilled groups, but tanking with him isn't super easy and again, you're taking a DPS hit for more control. That's a fair tradeoff. EDI was...more DPS and more survivability. In other words, broken.

Don't forget they're also crying because they're being outscored by EDIbots.

Switching RM to a normal timer power rather than grenades almost single-handedly fixes every design issue with the ability.

Not even close, in fact it would make things worse. Cloak -> RM (ditch Snap Freeze) -> shoot. So, a guaranteed permanent RM buff up without having to run to ammo boxes...how is that a nerf? Or did you mean something else by "timer power"...

They could get rid of almost all the RM bonuses and she would still be incredibly powerful.

Considering the OP is so happy that the Repair Matrix will be nerfed I'm going to guess that he gets topped a lot by this awesome kit while he doesn't even want to put some effort and taste the awesomeness of the kit. But well, there will always be people that just wont stop crying about something. I still can't realise why people want this nerf so much. It doesn't harm you in ANY way.. actually it's exactly the oposite, it makes the game a little bit easier for the team as a whole.

OP is one of the better players on BSN so highly doubtful.

Not doubtful at all. This is the typical reaction of the so called elite players when they get (almost) outscored by any kit when they are running around with any Volus on Plat with a common gun.

Don't forget; according to BSN it's not about teamplay but all about that freaking scoreboard at the end of the match, hence the ammounts of posts of people mentioning their score when starting/replying in a thread.

I don't quite understand why she needs a nerf. I play mostly pugs and I have seen one or two people who had any idea what they were doing with her, and those players would've been just fine without the repair matrix. In fact, I bet most of the good/elite players would much rather have actual grenades. That would probably be much more overpowered in the right hands.

League of Legends does this all the time.

If you think about it, it's a really smart / although somewhat lame imo business tactic.

Release new heroes who are OP? Why are they OP? Because to develope a new character that is unique, new style of gameplay, new powers etc takes waaaaay too long. So what's the easiest and fastest way to get people interested in new characters? Simply make them more powerful. People will jump all over them, because they're more powerful, not necessarily because they're more fun to play. But then you have the issue of power-creep. If you keep doing this, without adjusting it, then eventually game balance goes out of whack. So you release a new hero, its OP, let everyone play with it for a while. Let them spend their money on custom skins (aka League of Legends), buying the champ, buying packs to get the hero. And then you nerf it, so game balance isn't completely flopped. People complain that it got nerfed, but eventually everyone realizes that it was indeed OP and is good for the game.

I hardly think the designers of this game did not real how powerful these combinations are. And granted, it's the last DLC so might as well make a crazy OP character just for fun...but still. That's the stategy.

Step 1) Release OP char
Step 2) Watch everyone spend money / credits buying those characters
Step 3) Let them play with it for a while
Step 4) Nerf it because it was made OP to begin with, and nerf it down to the level it should have been released at, but wasn't

Everyone's happy again, until the next new OP char is released and it starts all over again.

Bioware isn't quite as blatant about it as Riot is with League of Legends most of the time, but I still think they do it.

1.Pick any class/wepaons
2.Load up Glacier/Cerb
3.All 4 teammates equip AC (8x insta-win button)
4.Rinse and repeat, youve now broken the game.

Then would you be okay with a class that could just one-shot any enemy instantly at the touch of a button? After all it's just a team game, so who cares?

Or how about a missile that wipes out every enemy on the map? Again, as long as you're winning the match what's the big deal, right?

So you can see why the "it's a co-op game, who cares" line of thinking is really quite dumb.

Also I don't hate EDI because I get outscored by her, I hate her because I feel BAD for my teammates when I use her. I break 200k on platinum without using missiles easily with her. And that's in plat matches that last ~20 mins, so it's not like I'm playing with mouthbreathers either.

The class is insanely OP and needed a reasonable nerf. End of story. If all you want is an I WIN button, go design your own game where you can win everything with no work required.

Meh, repair matrix... as if it will ruin the kit.

Doesn't change the best parts of the kit (melee, agility, snap freeze and shotgun), and hopefully we wont' see at least one being played every other game.

You mean like a GI/Jav, or 4xAC?
I agree, something needed to be done, but theres other classes that need looked at also.

You're right in that any RM nerf really isn't going to affect the best players. Any nerf to RM, for me, means that I'd likely spec out of it and max Fitness instead (currently have 4 ranks in it because I'm not dumb and think Snap Freeze is an amazing ability to have on her).

And after speccing out of RM and back into Fitness, I'd still have...6 ops packs and 6 medi-gels per match. Would I have to learn to play a *little* more carefully? Probably. But not by that much, because it's not like you can't get up again if you die without RM.

TBH, what she needs is her damage nerfed. RM is a cool and unique ability, and IMO it SHOULD define the class, along with Snap Freeze. The problem is her damage output is off the charts, and nerfing RM won't change that. Personally I'd just change the rank 6 tac cloak shotgun damage evo to something else.

I 100% agree that other classes need to be looked at as well. I'd love to see stimpacks removed from the TGI, if only because baddies who stand out in the open and need to constantly use them would no longer be sucking up grenades from the ammo boxes

Heyhey guys, what if, shhh, just listen, what if, we call the AIU "Nerf" what it really is? what if we call it "Striving for balance"?
Huh? no? why not? cause your upset that your crutch is being removed? but hey, the talons getting buffs to make him more playable, if your half as good as you say you are that should be good right? right? no? why? because the AIU is getting balanced? why does that bother you so much? I`m sorry, but it upsets you because of the fact that its the only thing you can take onto gold? well, look at the bright side, now you can actually learn to use other kits. No? you don`t want to do that? why? its too hard? but its just a game, isn`t a challenge good? no? why? Cause you can do everything other kits do better with the AIU now? how does that affect other kits? They are inferior? why don`t you support a balance then? oh you LIKE to be godlike to make up for your incompetence. Why on earth didn`t you just say so in the beginning?

Maybe the usual sniper/assault damage number, but with melee instead of shotgun damage?

I can get with that.
