Libertarian's Cowl:

Tevinter Mage Robe

Staff of Magister Lord (128 + gold)

Andruil's Blessing (Belt - 106 + Gold)

Thanks for that.  Extremely helpful.
After reading your post, I went out looking and found Tevinters Robe in the Wonders shop in Denerim, and my character was wearing the Libertarian's Cowl.
I gave Wynne both of those and noticed a big difference right away.
Now I just have to save up some gold... that belt is pretty awesome.

I wanna get them both :)  I think I'm gonna grab the staff first and will have just enough gold to get it soon.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to get enough gold for the other.  I still have to deal with the Elfs and finsh up Denerim.  Plus I have the dlc to do so I may just be able to do it.

Also there is a sweet ring in Denerim I have my eye on the gives you mad resistance to everything magical.  I think it's only around 80 gold.

Of course I'll be using it for my character but Wynne or Morrigan will get the hand me downs. :)

Something I didn't notice for awhile was that the Combat line of skills says it helps with mana regeneration. I overlooked that and maxed herbalism first.

I believe the mana regeneration is *just* in level 2 combat training... so yes, it is important to get... but I do not believe level's 3 or 4 of combat training add any additional mana regen.
So for a spellcaster that won't be getting hit much (like Wynne) I would think level 2 combat training is all you need... unless you have skill points to burn.

I need to declare my love for Wynne- and not in the she's-a-hottie-grandma sort of way either (though she's sort of hot in a vintage cougar sort of way and how she's a connoisseur of ale's)  But I'm talking as a teammate for my PC, who is a dual wielding DPS- I work with Wynne perfectly.   Her Haste aura, plus my Momentum, means I deliver lots of damage at a unprecedented lightning fast rate.  Plus, with all her healing abilities, she keeps me in the fight all the time.  If I fall; revive-  thanks grandma!   Pretty much from the first time I met her in the Tower, the old lady never left my side.

Toss in Morrigan with Death Hex and a boss character goes down FAST.  Those Generals at the end- yea, they didn't stand much of a chance.  Also, as much as they hate each other, Wynne and Morrigan work great with a Earthquake/Blizzard combo.  Earthquake keeps the mob stuck, Blizzard just trashes them and slows them down even more.  Only the higher level enemys can walk through it.

I've played the ending, multiple times- some without her.  Every time without her the battle is harder.  I'm telling you, Wynne is the greatest support character of them all.

Do you have that set in tactics to happen automatically?  I can't figure out which status effect is K.O.

There isn't a ready set status effect of "K.O" or "dead" in the standard game.

I'd suggest downloading the "Advanced Tactics" modification. Adds a lot more useful settings.

I have the advanced tactics mod, but when it comes to combo'ing earthquake with blizzard or tempest I usually micromanage it.

I gave in and bought the Staff of Magister Lord.  :)  I'm using it sense I'm mage though, sorry Wynne.  I just made Wynne Arcane Warrior.  I think I'm gonna give her the Juggernaut set.  :)  That should boost her defenses.

I happen to think that Wynne is the most underrated character in the game. If you play a mage then her impact on the team is not as apparent as all my mage PCs heal and do take the spirit healer specialization. When i play any other class i use her all the time she has the ability to turn a tough fight into a cake walk. She is already set up to heal and with the dispell magic under the spirit tree she has won a place in the party.

Wynne is like the American Express card, do not leave camp with out it.

Wyn is anglo saxon for joy (from which the name Wynne stems). Amusingly Winstan pretty much equates to "stone of joy" in Anglo Saxon too.

Sooo... you're saying Winston Churchill was a Happy Fun Rock ?  interesting.  :)

Wynne is more interesting if you use the respec mod. Helps free her mana pool up for some dps and cc. Also gets rid of all the pesky talents she takes before you get her at Mage Tower. Lyrium is so cheap she can chain-chug and forget all the rejuv/regen talents. I played it without the mod the first time around. But it got annoying not being able to create the team I wanted. Now I'm running 4 dps with Wynne holding down most of the cc and tossing a group heal here and there.

Also, just tossing it out there. But even on Nightmare, anyone notice the complete lack of need for a real tank? Slap a board on your dps warrior if you're having trouble keeping him up. Or temporarily bog down your AW with massive plate. But there's no need to sacrifice all that dps. Alistair DW dps tanked the dragons.

Bye bye Whynne, I just wasted her at the Sacred Urn of Ashes.  Oh well.  I'm taking a more evil route so no biggy.  Morrigan has group heal so we should be good anyways.

Will Wynne turn on you no matter what if she finds out later or does she have to be present?

She will leave the party when you go back to camp if you don't have her with you to obtain the Reaver spec.

Ok, thanks.  That's good to know for the future.  Lelina left me when I got to camp after that.  I tried to persuade her that nothing happened but she bolted.

I think that desicion of the game is one of the select few that can have a very strong effect on your group.  It has defintely thrown off my fighting a bit without Wynne.
