I'm no Origin hater, but I wish EA would just drop it already, get with the program and do business with Steam again, that way we can get tasty 75% off sales of the decent games EA publishes and they get the massive revenue increase when their sales jump by 1000% every Halloween, Xmas and Summer sale.
Tell Steam to drop it too, they pulled any EA game that had new DLC released for it and EA stopped using them as a distributor because of the choices Valve made. They wanted everyone to conform to a situation where Valve took their commission on all DLC sales otherwise you aren't allowed to sell on Steam.

They actually do sales very often, one just ended like few days ago with some titles for dirt cheap. Not to mention the Humble Bundle. The problem's that it only applies to base games, EA treats them as a platform for DLC milking. Hence why they will easily give away base games after just few months post-release for next to nothing and then rack up on always-expensive DLC and virtual currenciesJukaga wrote...

But the games get cheaper with time regardless. DLC on the other hand... well, not so much

For people that buy the game now for $10 or less, sure it makes sense to try and make the money from those people on DLC, but they're screwing over the fans that had the faith to buy the game day 1 and pay a lot more for it. I mean what incentive do I have to ever buy a game at full price again, if I know that the game price will drop relatively quickly, but then I will have to overpay on DLC? I'd much rather pay fair price for a full game, and then get the DLC on the cheap.
What's really annoying is that EA has discounted Battlefield and Sims DLC - things that they sell for direct prices through Origin. Because Bioware Points are this extra system that sits vaguely outside of Origin, I think it's equally likely that they are simply overlooked by whoever manages pricing as it is that they're specifically choosing not to reduce the price. The fact that Bioware Pionts even continue to exist since the advent for Origin is idiotic, why are the DLCs not just directly priced like everything else on there?

hopefully they will reconsider this later on, maybe when the new ME comes out.

Same sentiment here. I pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition for $70, I already gave EA more than fair value for the game. I'm not paying $40 for a few additional hours of conent even though I really want to play it.

ME3s story (ending) wasn't the best. Don't know how good the DLCs are. Problably won't ever find out.
I don't hate origin, but EA really.... no, don't like them. But, it's the market and I accept it. Loved ME but there is enough other stuff to play (from other companies as well).

Combine that with the fact Origin is terrible compared to Steam, I refuse to buy anything from them. Who the hell still uses points these days, wake up EA...
I guess they just don't want to my money, which is fair enough. I am sure they can keep floating their ship with a new version every year of each title the currently have. Games that come on Steam/gog is the only thing I buy and it works great, they make really good offers and tbh there is tons of games out there, noone will ever miss EA's lineup.

Bioware representative:
Please consider either offering a Bioware Points sale, if that is within your power, or petitioning the appropriate Origin representative to offer the same. Myself and many others do not intend to purchase any DLC for Mass Effect 3 until there is a sale on Bioware Points, as we feel we have already spent enough money purchasing the base game and/or other DLC.
Thank you for your consideration,

I have not really been checking in that much, but I have not heard of or seen any sales on Bioware Points. Considering the substantial support for this and the fact that many people seem to be avoiding DLC purchases until such a sale occurs, I think we should make a formal request.

Mentionning the fact that PS3 and X360 players have gotten sales on the same content is also something to add. I think that a sale would result in a good boost in sales. Even if they do make more money by selling the DLC at full price, a sale would usually make those who are into the series or hesitant to buy the DLC. At this point, there isn't much demand for the DLC anyway, so they could afford to lower the price and make a nice profit (offer and demand: ironically I am studying economy at the moment)

I will buy Omega if it gets at least a 33% discount. I'm sure this promise of an assured additional $10 will move EA's heart.
Yeah, right. Because heart + EA = hEArt...

Granted they aren't the best for sales but it's only Bioware PC DLC's that I haven't seen discounted so I'm wondering if it's something to do with the developer instead. Plus the actual games are reduced all over the place so there must be something different with regards to the DLC agreements?
Wish they would offer full DLC packages at a discount as I'd snap up ME2, ME3 and DA2 in a heart beat.

Like I said before, I think it's most likely that they're just overlooked because it's such a dumb system where the Mass Effect DLCs aren't actually in the Origin store. So whatever team is responsible for setting sale prices probably doesn't even see them in their list of possible stuff to discount. Just another example of their corporate organization being a mess. The fact that Bioware Points and the method of redeeming DLCs from social.bioware.com continued to exist after EA had a better, unified system for handling that (Origin), smacks of some dumb, stubborn executive going "we spent X months and Y dollars building out this functionality, we're going to use it even if there are superior alternatives that would be better for consumers gosh darnit!"
