Mordin said he wasn't interested in aliens. Why does BW insist on retconning character traits just for the sake of a two-second joke?

Maybe he simpy isn't telling the truth all day?
After all, would you TRUST a Salarian that f*cked Aria and survived to tell you?

I wouldn't. :innocent:

That's like a new DLC saying Kaidan was secretly a serial killer all along, and when someone calls foul, going, "How can you trust him? He kills people [now]!" Sure I trusted him back in ME2. I have no idea who this guy is.

Personally, I'm just not into rewriting what we knew about characters for a joke that was old before ME3 even came out (Ha ha, get it? ****ed with Aria? LOLOL, never been done before!). If they wanted to joke about Aria's sex life, couldn't we have gotten some Aleena confirmation instead?

That would be a DLC in and of itself.

Mordin didn't f*** Aria people.
That was a film noir spoof!. It was a snippet from a film he'd been in!
Mordin has acted and performed before as you find out by asking about his interest in art and reading up on Shadow Broker infos on him.
Listen to it again and you will understand.

Go watch a film noir short on youtube or something then compare it to how Mordin talks and refers to himself in the recording.
You will then know I'm right and your worries dismissed :P

I don't have the DLC anyways. There's no way Bioware could go and waste one of the most compelling characters in the entire series on such a ****ty joke.  I was seriously worried there for a second...

I haven't played yet, but Mordin also says something about how Asari make him feel like he did during his fertility days or something. So, it's not exactly retconning.

He said they made him 'feel odd' and reminded him of old fertility negotiations, not exactly a testament to unbridled lust and a fondness for dat mindsex. It was just another attempt to prove asari can have anyone, any time, as if we hadn't heard that a million times before. Regardless, he still made it clear he didn't really have time for inter-species shennanigans.

The funny thing is, it seems people like this joke, presumably because they think it makes Mordin into some kind of badass, but really it flatters nobody but Aria. Mordin was more of a badass in ME2 when he literally didn't have any ****s to give, even to little miss Queen of Omega. But of course no one can not love Aria. Gag.

I kind of assumed his account of aria (if true at face value) was something that happened a long time ago. Mordin's an old man when we meet him, could have happend a while before then.

Also I haven't looked yet for vids but if you got the armax arena and look at the bronze challenge reward machine, on the bottom of the machines screen where it's showing the characters, at the far right is what looks a lot like mordin. The IMPLICATION is that he's available if alive, but I don't know.

Listened to the bit, and yeah, that was straight out of a noir narration.

Which makes mordin all the more badass, in my opinion.

Mordin actually says "Asari offers intriguing actually. Wonder why? Cross species pheromones unlikely to work."

So he actually is attracted to Asari. Just not any other species. It's in character.

And like the ME universe needed to feel any smaller.

Even if it was real, it wouldn't necessarily be a retcon. Asari would look a lot like females of his species.

Remember this? :)

Film noir spoof in which Mordin's "character" sleeps with Aria. However, Aria as a character did it as a femme fatale, to use him to help her eliminate the competition, perhaps from Patriarch or just a random Krogan thug. Mordin's character was a sucker, not a stud, and he wrote her to nearly eliminate his character, to clean up any evidence that could lead back to her.
