in the wiki its says +.75/+1.5 mana regen for the shield and a set bonus of +5 mana regen so is it a total bonus of 5.75 or 6.5 since the base on mine is 1.5?

currently i have a aw woth 10 mana regen and 10 health regen...if possible which should i raise/lower?

I have a question on the topic too,
i have some mods whose equipment gives 5.5 mana regeneration,
now playing as a maxed out arcane warrior, how much total regeneration will i get with all bonuses ?

6.5. For most things (but not set bonuses for some reason), console items get twice the regen bonus that PC items do. As for which is better for regen, I'd aim for 13 mana regen (including your base regen and fade shroud, don't know if you were including those) to sustain haste and shimmering shield. At this point though you're basically invulnerable as an AW, but you have so many sustains that you'll have a hard time casting much with your mana pool. Blood magic gets around this, so if you're casting from hp then add hp regen. Or just look for spellpower/attack/etc

I play one of the earliest versions, one that doesnt shut down shimmering shield,
but that also prevents me from using Cailens stuff etc from Ostagar.
how much base regeneration do i have ?
I'd love to afford haste

Base is 1 mana regen, improved combat training gives another +1 (.5 for pc). If you fall below 10 mana you get an additional +2.5. Fade shroud is +2 for consoles. So with all of that you need 6.5 mana regen to not have shimmering + haste deactivate, or else 8 if you want to be able to cast spells from mana. Your 10 is easily enough. I'd usually advise being able to sustain your spells without needing the low-mana boost, simply because casting regeneration then activating blood magic is really strong (doing this doesn't activate the blood magic penalty).

As for how it works, it's pretty simple. Add all regen, subtract all drains. Every 2 seconds your mana is altered by that amount. HP regen works the same, but it can't be negative.

All of this is extremely easy to figure out with a couple of minutes on the DA wiki. My psychic powers however don't enable me to know what your mod equipment is, so even if I wanted to spoon-feed you this I couldn't.
