First match from the demo days, I think it was firebase white with the human adept and mattock. I loved it but didn't know how biotic explosions worked because my cooldown was too damn long to get them.

Geth/Ghost/Bronze
Me and a friend tried a 2 player bronze private game, and I don't think we got further than wave 3 on about 3 tries. We had both completed the single player campaign so how hard could multiplayer be.... Oh boy did we get a reality check

Ouh yes on the Demo, I used Mantis on my first Vanguard, and it was effecting enough, at the time.

Bronze/Giant/Reapers
I was playing a Human Soldier. I had fun and definitely felt the excitement, but never thought I'd still be playing this game up to this day. I wasn't able to play the multiplayer demo (only single player) because I was still finishing up my ME2 game.

Bronze/Cerberus/Giant(I think)
I was a Human Engineer. Mostly, I rember that no one could deal with Guardians so I had to trick them all with Combat Drone. Remember when guardians were scary?

Oh yes! Must have been 4 weeks after the game was published. Only reason I started MP was that I wanted to get the breath scene. I had read the forums earlier and decided on a human engineer. Bronze, reactor, forgot the faction. Enemies everywhere!
We made it to wave 11, I immediately ran to the LZ, we fought of enemies, and the countdown slowly ticked away, 1 minute, 50 sec, 40 sec, 30 sec...
YOUR CONNECTION TO THE GAME HAS BEEN LOST!
And that was my first MP game.

Bronze on Reactor. Can't remember what faction or class I was playing. I suspect it was Human Engineer with an Avenger, though. I remember being terrified that I would be called on to speak over the mic. The nice pugs carried me through to full extraction, iirc, and I watched the full animation of the score screen in wonder and thought I'd never ever begin to remember what all those shiny medals were for.

Turian Sentinel with Scimitar, Cerberus/Dagger - panicked when I discovered I couldn't roll, also died a lot because I was so used to using the power wheel (LShift) in single player instead of hotkeys.

I assumed it would be like Dead Island, easier to survive alone.
I tried to finish my first three games by myself with a Human Infiltrator and an Incisor. I learned it was not like Dead Island pretty quickly.

I remember getting my ass kicked with my best friend a few months after the game first shipped. I think I was unprepared for the power differential between the basic characters from multiplayer and Shepard.
It wasn't pretty.
I like to think I am a pretty decent player now but still run across better ones all the time.

Ah, my first ever. Demo days, got an early-access code to download it off Twitter and fired up multiplayer. "This is going to be awesome!" I thought. Wasn't wrong.
My trusty human Engineer, Jeff Thorton was my first character used, but I forget the weapons - probably had the ME2 mentality of weapon multipliers vs defences, rather than shield gate and armour DR, which are what this game has. I wanted to pick a male Infiltrator and self-insert (you know, I kind of feel uncomfortable being Shepard, he's supposed to be a Marty Stu) but femfiltrators only in the demo!
But I still fondly remember Bronze being hard, my Avenger with stability and scope postslotting Guardians, and this gem of a YouTube coment - "We hate Phantoms, they hate Stasis. Asari Adepts FTW!" I don't think I played higher than Bronze in the demo, although I might be wrong.

Private match with a mate, U/U/B, ended up being Dagger and Reapers, I think. He'd played a match or two already so had suggested a public game but I instinctively fear and distrust the sort of crazies you find on the Internet so we went private.
I played Hector Eigen, human Sentinel. He was probably equipped with the Phaeston I that came in my recruit pack. We made it as far as wave 3, which was a do 4 things objective before the Cannibals ate us both.
It wasn't long before I accepted that public matches would be necessary if I was ever to raise my Galactic Readiness level signifciantly.

Reactor / bronze / Cerberus / I had no idea what I was about and dropped dead in less than a minute.
Yeah as it turns out, single player does not prepare you to solo ME3 MP.

First match during the demo days, I unintentionally got into a gold/ghost/cerb match as a lv1 human adept.
Don't remember exactly how far we got, but we didn't finish. Was fun anyway.

Aye, Human Vanguard and lots of medi-gel (that I didn't have) and sat playing thinking "if bronze is this hard, what is silver like?!"
Ahhh, to be young and crap.

My first game...Infiltrator, female.
I took up my mantis for my first time in multiplayer, and walking around Firebase Ghost confused. But when enemies showed up the gloves were off, boom went my rifle as I missed my first shot. Boom as my second shot hits, ripping off the Cerberus Trooper's head. It was my first ME3 kill, but not my last. I turned to my friend and proclaimed I couldn't wait to rip through enemies with the M-98 Widow.
He turned to me confused as I continued firing off shot after shot into enemy's until the wave was done. We fought valiantly, but as wave after wave came at us, we fell... making it only to wave 3.
I had suffered my first defeat... but was about to return the favor to Cerberus, one-hundred fold.
