Wishful thinking does not invalidate the endings. it's pretty pathetic people are still clinging onto that grudge, honestly.
It's not about holding a grudge against the ending, it's about wanting to enjoy the existing cast of characters as much as possible. The bar has been set pretty high for future ME games now and as a fan, I'm gonna miss the current group. Not everything said about the ending that isn't praise, is an attack on it or Bioware. Poxy internet.
Very well said. It's not wrong to demand perfection for something you've put so much time and money and emotion into. As a consumer it's our right to ask for what we want.
You're still in denial. There was never going to be rainbows and unicorns at the end of this ride when EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER constantly said there is no way to defeat the Reapers conventionally.
I mean really... what did people expect... that a bunch of GROUND FORCES would kill off giant old machines of death?
Too bad they proved it's actually fairly easy to take down a few Reapers in ME3 alone... and Shepard proved suicide missions are nothing to fret over in ME2 so no one was buying that arbitrary BS.
As for the DLC and MIri... YUSSSSS! Perfection. I loved it.

Yes. All her content is post Sanctuary.

Kab, have to point out the flaws in your first point there. Sorry bud, but the only Reapers that were "easily" taken down in ME3 were two Destroyer-class Reapers, the smallest of the ships. One was taken out by a Thresher Maw twice the size of the Destroyer, and the other was taken out after a few precision airstrikes from the Normandy and a final bombardment from The Migrant Fleet. Those were two small Reapers.Kabraxal wrote...

Suicide mission on the other hand, I don't know, sure as hell took me a while to get the supplies and upgrades necessary
Back on topic however I enjoyed the Citadel bits with Miranda, romanced or not. Her character really shone through.

The ending when you are heading back to the Normandy really struck me deep.
The best.

I'd say Jack's content is a little more striking - the arena scene and the tattoo scene, both first-class. On Miranda's side, the "seduce" option in the casino scene is too conventional for my taste and there is no fitting romance equivalent for femShep's "trouble-shooting space divas" version. But the other option works fine (Miranda has beautiful laugh), and the apartment scene, the wake-ups and the goodbye scene are all great. As far as I'm concerned, Jack and Miranda have gotten the best treatment by the Citadel DLC.AlstairME wrote...
I thought her content was the best of all romances in the DLC! she had an ok one in the main game but this one was fantastic! I am not disappointed at all!

Feels a bit strange, compared to how things went for them in the Vanilla game =p

Romance-wise anyways. Gutted that there wasn't more of them in a 'professional' capacity. Oh, well, no changing that now.Ieldra2 wrote...

Yeah, that sucks. Among other things, we have yet another Cerberus-related mission....and yet again, Miranda is not involved. Well, at least she gets to comment on it.hot_heart wrote...

I really believe that the Extended Cut and Citadel DLC provided us enough closure to move on whether Shepard lives or dies.

However, the Citadel DLC also brought home acutely how little the ending scenario fits the story that came before. I can make it all work for me, and I do because I want this to be a story I like, but it takes a tremendous mental effort. I can see the ideas behind it, even that they might be applicable to the ME universe, but the story doesn't tell me that they are.

That would be worse than the catsuit. I prefer my characters dressing for the occasion. Miranda in the dress at the party, that would have been nice.scyphozoa wrote...
Miranda in the red dress looked great. I wish I could play all of ME2 with her in that dress.

It appears you finished it at about the same time I did, and yes, I agree. I felt sad at the end but it was the kind of nostalgic sadness that the story is finished and from now on all we can do is replay what we already know. The Normandy goodbye is very poignant. Yes, I can now believe in a good and interesting future for Miranda with or without Shepard in all three main endings. Also, as odd as it seems, the goodbye scene makes me more confident in my "Shepard comes back" post-Synthesis headcanon.

I'm curious though... I'm trying to interpret what Miranda's slides meant in the epilogue. Okay, how come when I chose Synthesis... I get the scene where she is an alliance board room? For control, she is with Orianda? Does it depend on the anything you choose or something else?

I can't help but feel that Bioware really shot themselves in the foot for ME3 when it came to have every ME2 squad member potentially die at the end, meaning they had to focus on providing alternatives to each one that features in ME3 which left the interaction extremely stilted and minor. Ctiadel DLC definitely makes up for that.

There are only four different slides:yesikareyes wrote...

Destroy + Romance = Miranda looking at the sky.
Destroy w/o Romance = Miranda standing at the table with the city hologram.
Control = Miranda with Oriana in front of screens showing Reaper parts
Synthesis = Miranda standing at the table with the city hologram, with Synthesis overlay.
The Synthesis and non-romance Destroy slides I interpret as Miranda helping with or leading some big construction project, maybe during the rebuilding, maybe later. It's very open. The Control slide I interpret as Miranda and Oriana studying Reapers. Oriana's absence in the other slides means she's likely cut off from her because the relays are nonfunctional or destroyed.

Unfortunately, the Synthesis overlay makes her look ugly. I wish they hadn't used such a blatant visual effect to represent the Synthesis changes.yesikareyes wrote...
Nice, I kind of like Synthesis the best. Miranda looking at the sky seems kind of sad even if Shepard breathes in the end.
