Anf if you were a mage in Redcliff and went into the Fade to save Connor, You could either make a Deal or actually Intimidate her to show you what "Desire" is.

Finally, those horns coming to some use.

Although the censors probably rated the game 18 for the very mild sex scenes, I feel the game is for more mature audiences because of the morally ambiguous choices you have to make in the game. I found the Deep Roads especially disturbing.

The desire demon had boob which was stupid why not have the girls show boob, the underwear sex was .... annoying!!! It totally took like all the seriousness out of the situation

Agreed. Not only did she show a lot, she also fondles her boobs. That was fine, but the PC and her/his chose love interest had to make love in funky underwear? Strange, that.

But then again, the desire demons had tassles. No nipples, because we all know that female nipples are teh evullzzz.

I too thought this was strange.  The Lady of the Forest was pretty revealing but the party npcs were censored pretty dramatically.  Not that it really matters it was just sort of unusual.

It has been made clear that she lacks nipples.

Or they could have changed the scene so we just saw  bare skin and not the undie parts, maybe blured.  The underwear might as well have had spongebob on them so I could at least hove gotten a laugh instead of ackwardness. "You know Alistair your supposed to take that underwear off you know..." There's the other thing that will never be seen in a videogame and worse then a womans nipple, a man rear!!   If it has no part of a fart joke then it doesn't exsist

But I guess all of my family trips to art musuems and Las Vegas has turned me into quite the pervert. All those statues and signs showed me way too much -_-

I understand why they rated it M for mature. The violence, sex and all ambiguity and grey zones and stuff ... It's a clear signal what the game contains, right?

It still doesn't prevent parents from allowing their underage children to play it, though. And that's fine and exactly as it should be. If I had children, I'd let my twelve-year-old play it. I might keep an eye on him/her and try to discuss the game casually, to see if there is stuff the child has questions about, though. But I wouldn't forbid him/her from playing it. When I was 10 I had played everything from Street Fighter to Leisure Suit Larry, watched all kinds of horror movies and, well ... lots of stuff. And I turned out quite normal, non-violent and non-disturbed.

Well i agree about what is good for one isn't good for another. What i mean is you can have a demon showing almost a whole boob barring nipples but not with a female character. The female charcater must have underwear on.

But The Witcher was almost the same....except it was a little more daring when it showed boobs on picture cards in game.

I find this whole thing about no topless women in games.very strange especially if the game is rated mature....i mean even TV drama show boobs...why not a video game>

There was bestiality in the game? When and where?

Choose "Surprise me" in the Pearl. You'll definately be surprised at one of the outcomes.:D

Not on network TV, they don't....

OT: is there a way we can delete out posts? I inadvertently posted 2 in a row, when I should have just added this to the previous one....

Canadian!

But strictly speaking, Canada (Edmonton anyway) is in North America! Yes, I know America is reffered to the USA, but nevermind. I wanted to point out this, because if the USA is America, then the countries outside the European unions in Europe aren't European? And btw, What the hell am I talking about?!

American makes the impression of being made anywhere in America, ergo south and north. Give credit where credit is due.

We Canadians are really sensitive about that sort of thing....

OT: Ack! I did it again! Sorry folks, little sleep last night, not firing on all cylinders....

Canadian!

Thank you! Was about to correct her as well!

Game is Canadian made but its rating is enforced by the putitan American value system!

There is a breat in game, there for it must be 18+

Honestly though, Id still make it 18+ for the decapitation and blood and homosexuality options in it! Definately not age 12 stuff if you ask me.

Still say however, the rating not the real issue. real issue is the censorship forced by americans. Game should have a world wide release thats as planed, no censorship and the a USA only release were everything is censored to their hearts content!

Everyone happy that way!

FWIW, according to the cover of the game box (well the UK version with the BBFC) explains the 18 rating as "containing strong bloody violence", and not listing any "sexual" reasons.

Which I makes sense I suppose.

In the fight scenes you can decapitate some guy and have his headless body spurt out blood as he collapses, covering you in blood.

While at the same time, a lot of the "sexual" material is "implied" and not really seen. You would have to already know what it's about for you to know what you're up to, if you get what I mean.

For example in the Pearl:

***** Spoilers *******

- The Nugs - A couple of escaped nugs burst into your bedroom in the Pearl and you are currently herding them back to the larder.
- The "Insertion" and "Extraction" tools - The bed was making an awful creaking noise and you used the tools to fix the nails in the bed.
- etc

Still, IMHO, 18 is a bit of a push, considering a some of films out there.

Thank you, Herr Uhl. Now I have to find a save and see that.

@ Kalfear

Canadian, US, what's the difference. Not too much of it from our point of view. The Canadians will bow to the US, mostly because they believe it to be their major market. Might be a language thing.

I hereby apoligize to all the French-Canadians.

It's not entirely fair to blame it on American values. Most Canadians see things pretty much the same way. Well, except in Quebec, which has a more European outlook. But there are quite a few places where even North American values are considered too racy. I assume the game is being sold worldwide, so to gear the game rating to European standards wouldn't be that sensible. Better to err on the side of caution in establishing a rating.

I must admit i was surprised to see lesbian/****** actually in the game but not shocked by it. It was a bold step to take. Now i may be wrong and maybe other RPG games have it too but i am not aware of any.

BTW>..i do know American censorship is tougher than elsewhere...so i am wondering if the European version differs from the American version in any way.

Jade Empire had a gay relationship with Sky just to name one. And Mass Effect.

And no on the second one.

Doesn't count a homosexuality if it's a blue mono-gendered alien!

Like elves, only less useless!

She didn't lack a but tho, and her front from the navel down had the barest minimum of coverage.  "Shrug"

Not DA:O, but lordy did our people mess up on some. Fallout (the real ones like 1 & 2a) was censored because of the child-killings. They royally messed up our copies of that. However, they were absolutely fine with the 'sex parts'

Be a porn star? Fine, whatever floats your boat. But kll a child? Never!
