That's almost funny - DA:O is an 18+ game around the world, but for very different reasons. Here (Germany) it's because of the violence and gore, but no one cares about "partial nudity" or sex, in North America it's the other way round. Strange times, indeed.

the reason it got an m rating is because the esrb are full of grumpy 60 year old buissness people who freak out when they see one tiny raindrop of blood beacuse they are"worried" for our childrens future...its bull@#$

Er, don't most people find killing children more disturbing than 'sex parts'? Or...well, anything, really. I know I do, and I'm not a big fan of strong sexual content.

I think that good characters also meet Hespith and the Broodmother sooner or later.



Don´t mind it is a 18+, mainly for the desicions you can make and the story (deep roads were disturbing for mee too) and less because of violence and shown sex.



But as it IS already an 18+ they could have left out underwear. :/

Anyway, it's rated M because of the sexual situations and blood-baloon rats. Usually ESRB doesn't rate based on amount of nakedness in the game but more on what the characters are doing in their nakedness.

I really agree with you, I am at a loss as to why sexual content (sex after all completely is completely natural, and procreation is essential to our species survival) would be seen as less disturbing as killing children - what kind of post people have we got here!!!!!

Isn't that the truth. I so wish they could pull away completely from the US. No, I don't hate the US, but they do tend to think that they are the bees knees.

18 year for this game is a little silly imho. The sex and violence is in no way more than an 15 year old could handle (yes, there are some 15 year old people that shouldn't play this game, but then there are also 18 and even 50 year olds that are not mature enough...)

Here in Sweden 15 is the leagal age to have sex (if you can have sex, i think you should be able to watch it, especialy simulated...), films at the cinema are either All, 7, 11 or 15, no 18, and no we have no censoring (well we have in theory, but it has not been enforced since Casino -95) . Sure there are complex and mature themes in Dragon Age but then again, nothing worse than can be found in films, at TV or in books.

I'd say far more likely than underwear sex (you can fix that on a PC by the way...with some unintentionally hilarious side effects during certain plot points) is the moral grey zone, the idea that sometimes there are no-win situations, that sometimes being morally upstanding isn't what's needed to get things done.



There are some very complicated decisions in the game.

One thing that does get me a bit... for an 18 game, I would have expected some boob.

The desire demon had boob which was stupid why not have the girls show boob, the underwear sex was .... annoying!!! It totally took like all the seriousness out of the situation
