After a year of being utterly disappointed with ME3, this definitely lightened my heavy thoughts. Such an amazing piece of DLC that I actually would say it increased my rating of ME3. Very satisfied with the ending boss fight, the characters in the plot (Brooks) crept up on me rather than be utterly predictable as in previous "mysterious" Mass Effect missions, environments were neat, we finally get a new hub (which I will say I was impressed with) etc. What happens with the squad party is phenominal and feels like a true goodbye to the trilogy. A fantastic piece of work, something along this calibre should probably have been in the vanilla game (as in, this kind of goodbye), but wth I'm not going to cry about it now. 9/10. Fantastic, feels like an amazing farewell to the trilogy. Oh how I've loved it so.
Pros:
--Hilarious. Doesn't feel over the top to me, either. Just a very funny mission with some very memorable moments.
--The hub
--Interesting quest. I've seen a lot of flame on the forums about the cloneshep, but honestly I liked it. I instantly hated my cloneshep lol, so I enjoyed hunting him down and killing him in the end. It wasn't a deep plot like in Leviathan, and it wasn't as gripping or interesting as Overlord, but it was attention-grabbing nevertheless.
--It had the best boss fight in the series imo, maybe put aside Saren in ME1. LOVED fighting an enemy who uses medigel, revives teammates, cloaked and used powers on me. I even died a couple times, imagine that!
--Brought some guns and all the MP mods in (as far as I can remember, at least).
--New enemies were tougher than the others in SP, even if they weren't unique.
--Citadel Archives; what you see and hear there was really cool imo.
--Squad banter. Team Hammerhead vs. Team Mako vs. Uncle Wrex was so awesome
--The party. I went the "make it wild" route. Loved what happened. Grunt savoring denying guests to enter, Wrex and Javik holding out with guns behind a couch, Liara lifting the trash-talking Vega, even saying goodmorning to all the hungover crew the next day. It was amazing and I was very impressed.
--"Probably the last" The ending scene of the DLC was so moving it brought the manliest of manly tears to my eye :')
--Individual squad encounters. Grunt and his escape, Garrus and his hookup with the female turian, Zaeed and his gamer rage, Ash and the Star Wars reference, Javik and Blasto; they were all amazing.
--Resembled the Suicide Mission. You take a squad, and the others which remain split up and fight alongside you (sorta). Liked the feel of having the "whole team" there.
Cons:
--My Ash romance was either bugged or I did something wrong...played after the Citadel Coup, Ash is on the Normandy, but her and Vega decided to go in to another room together lol. It sucked.
--REALLY wish the squad stuff had some replayability with a single Shepard...seeing that you could choose to not invite various members to the party in the end made me think you could host several parties, so I went ahead and had mine before I even got Tali, Miranda, Zaeed or Kasumi X_X Totally dumb decision, and now I'm bummed that shore leave is permanently over
--New enemies looked cool, but besides the boss fight in the end they had no change in gameplay at all; they were just tankier Cerberus troops lol. Boring.
--Really wish all the guns from MP were added to SP. I honestly don't see why they weren't; you coulda found bunches of them in the Archives or something and it all woulda felt complete. We only got, what, 2? Bummer.
--Apartment customizations are kinda pathetic and really didn't need to be included in the DLC description. I have everything you can purchase from the shop; not sure if you win many or any more in the arcade but having only like 1/2 options for a select few sections of the apartment is hardly what I'd call customization. Plus, even if you unlock the customizations, what's the point of going back to the apt. now? :/
--No real need for the apartment after the party...idk why you can go back lol.
--A couple glitches in the conversation scenes, nothing too major though.
--Woulda loved it if the entire ME2 squad came along for the main quest...like the Suicide Mission all over again.
Various points:
--Shep is on shore leave due to Normandy upgrades, and he's battling his own assasination attempt. Throwing a party and visiting the Sunset strip in the meantime definitely isn't anything which breaks the lore or ruins the game, as some people are saying.
--I didn't find the dialogue cheesy at all lol...it was funny, yeah, but fit the crew. Overall loved it.
Worth the $15
