Sorry, I can't imagine any way for anyone at all to help you, with almost nothing at all to go on, not even the platform, so I consider the first answer to be pure wishful thinking.  There's no way in creation to know if the two of you actually have the same problem. 

When this OP decides he / she is interested in more of an answer, then he / she can fill in all of the missing blanks.

This is not a platform specific problem but if you must know:

core i7 920 stock clocks, 6 gig ram stock clock, RAID 0 config HDs and running win7 with a evga 8800GT clocked stock. Im running the game on medium graphics, with no physx enabled on the card, no antialisasing either.

I have the same random ctd problem. its insanely annoying. no error msgs no nothing. tried stock clocks and nothing has helped so far
