Truthfully, I find it amazing that not one modder made a single effort to create a Qunari Race Mod. The Qunari are known to be the most skilled and violent warriors ever known. They even treat their mages better than the people of Ferelden, respecting them more than fearing them. (All this information is from the game by the way, so I'm not making stuff up.) One journal in the game talks about the Qunari's impressive and advanced military. With advanded weaponry likes cannons, and better skilled soldier's with better armor and weaponry. I mean seriously, they waged war once they got to Ferelden. I don't know about you, but i wanna be that good.

So working off that, I am calling out, desperately, to all modders. I would like a Qunari Race Mod available. TiSo in So, in my opinion, this is a huge project. An origins story will have to be created, along with new armor, weapons, lands, maps, cutscenes, and the dialogue among many NPC's in the game would have to be edited to fit the Qunari warden, like some of the NPC's in Ostagar. I have a really good idea for the origins story.

I was thinking you would begin in Par Vollen, awaking on a ship that just landed on the island from their original homeland, Seheron. Par Vollen is a tropical island chain, covered mostly by rainforest. You will walk off the ship to a military port and settlement. The Commander will be standing in front of the ship, waiting for you. He will give you a Soldier's Pass, which will grant you access to the settlement, along with permission to trade with the Quartermaster. You will be directed to your tent, which will have all of your belongings in a chest. These will be Standard Qunari Armor, and a Standard Qunari weapon, which will vary depending on your class (Two daggers= Rogue/ Greatsword= Warrior/ Qunari Mages Staff= Mage). Each of these will be Tier 1 weapons. The Quartermaster will be able to sell you better weaponry, but you won't need it. You will then meet the Commander in his tent. He will tell you that he will be conducting a mission of great importance, but you will need to prove yourself first. He will tell you to go into the Par Vollen Rain Forest and retrieve 5 wolf pelts. You will also have to retrieve a gem from a temple that belonged to the civilization that resided in Par Vollen before the Qunari. It will be guarded by spiders and skeletons (Because it is a tropical island, there will not be things like golems and darkspawn.).

You will arrive to the tomb to find a lette in the place of where the gem should be. It will simply read "Up". The Warden will look up to find a barrage of rocks and boulders fall on him, enough to knock him out. The Warden will awake to a garden of springs and trees, a very peaceful place. It will be inhabited by the Commander, and a couple of nude women (Reference to the Hashashins.). He will tell you you have done well, and to rest, you'll need it. At this point, the screen will black out and you will awake at the Commander's tent. He tells you that you have done well, and that there was a reason the gem wasn't there. The gem was stolen by a human that fled to Denerim. He tells you about the important mission, a scavenge mission to Ferelden. He warns you, that anyone met in Ferelden will be hostile to Qunari soldiers. You are told that you may rest in your tent, but you will then leave for Ferelden.

After your rest, you go to your ship and leave for Ferelden. You land in Ferelden with two Qunari soldiers, Volshen and Kalashok. You will travel through a swampy area. The screen will cut to cutscene. Arrows will suddenly fly through a bunch trees and grass. One through Volshen's head, two to Kalashok's chest, and one to the Warden's leg. The archers will then appear through the grass to show themselves as Grey Warden border patrollers. The Warden will unsheathe his sword, only to be his in the head from behind by a club. The screen blacks out. He will then awake in a cell. A human General will walk in to interrogate the Warden (details will be worked out later.).

When the General leaves, the Warden will have to find a way out (Once again, details to be worked out.). When almost outside, he will be faced by Duncan. He will tell the Warden to get back to his cell, but one way or another, they will engage in combat. You can try as hard as you can, but Duncan will always win (Because he is Duncan). When close to death, Duncan will stop the fight and commend the Warden on his skill and honor. He will get the Warden to join the Grey Wardens, which is where the regular story will commence.

I put a lot of though into this, evidently, and I think it will add alot of diversity into the game. If anyone has the time and skill to create this mod, please comment. I will be happy to help with storyline and ideas. For example, I can play through the whole game to see where dialogue changes will be needed to fit the Qunari. Please give me feedback people. You will all be happy once it is out.

I'm not sure that it's a case of nobody trying to yet, more that nobody has yet mastered the toolkit to such a degree that they have a realistic chance of making this yet

firstly you need the appearance. Sten can be used as a starting point but you want other facial options and these will need to fit the Qunari body. you can probably get away without making a female Qunari option since Sten's dialogue suggests that Qunari women do not fight (although he later contradicts this by saying that ALL Qunari'; women and children, will fight if they need to and that those who can't don't deserve to be defended)

then you've got to make one or more Origins to fit the race, make sure that it all fits the established lore, get the sound samples (or have the PC be completely mute, it's better than asking for a ladder!) adjust all the in-game dialogue that relates to your race, especially Stens, much of this will involve trying to edit conversations by splicing snippets of other dialogue together...

it'd be a fun project to see come to fruition, but don't underestimate the work involved

Well of course it would be a large project, a huge project. But imagine how much fun it would be to see it when it would be finished and to actually play. Imagine the sense of accomplishment you would feel after it being done. That would be the greatest project we'd ever feel. It'd add a lot of flavor to the game and you would get to be a real warrior.

So once again, I call my plea. May some modder please answer this call in distress?!?!?!?

Did you not read what was written??

"sighs"

In my past modding experience (Bethesda games) people won't read this and think "Oh yes someone has asked for this, I will do it," even if they are very good with the construction tool. You need to understand how big an undertaking this is and how much time it will involve, and not expect someone to just pop up and do it for you. Perhaps start learning the toolkit yourself, starting small, then eventually by the time you are good enough, someone may have already made this race, and if not then you can do it yourself.

Just don't expect someone to do it for you, especially if you plan to contribute just "ideas."

ERm...I though the qunari treat their mages like dogs, and cut out their tounges?

I don't think humans like us could understand the qun. Also, it would take away all the mystery of the qunari.

I would think Bioware will add the Qunari Race to a future game in the Dragon Age series.

The toolset doesn't work for me so I resigned to writing a book about the Qunari instead. It's in my project folders for all us Qunari lovers.

Yeah, they don't treat mages well at all, more like cannons than people from what I understand.

there is no female quanri in the game and making a working facegen and body for it is certainly beyond any person skills in a near future. it seem to be one of the hardest single piece of challenge you can take together with things like rideable mounts. I think there is more important task todo to get a living community, and hopefully we will get the qunari from bioware in a expansion.

Should they? Yes.  Will they?  Probably not... =(
