Are you implying I should buy the next Mass Effect games no matter how much I don't like them and think it's a wrong direction?

Nah,  your entitlement stems from wanting your personal fan fiction to become the canon of the franchise.

And you can definitively say that it's fanfiction?

Nope. IT has never been disproven or denied as being the intent.

It's not in the game and never will be, hence fan fiction and a very self-deluded one at that.

And you can prove that it's not what was intended in the game? When it has a ton of evidence to support it?

Ah, yes, indoctrination. We have dismissed these claims.

How could IT be disproven? The substance of the theory is that the game's lying to you; wouldn't any evidence be dismissable as just more indoctrination?

If the theory wasn't reason-proof it would have been laughed off these boards months go.

ME4 continuing with synthesis would pretty much disprove IT for me. Or BioWare denying it too.

The substance of the literal endings is that Shepard's been wrong all along and the bad guys were right.

The existence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster or the Invisible Pink Unicorn has also never been disproven. Your point?

So, in other words, never. But don't worry, Bioware will survive.

I honestly think that DAIII's sales will be a major factor in determining whether EA drops BioWare or not. ME3's sales were disappointing.

That's the same idiocy the OP's pushing, isn't it?

How is it NOT idiocy? would be the better question.

Outright denial hasn't stopped deluded fans from claiming Taxi Driver's ending was a dream after Martin Scorsece said it wasn't.

I doubt it would be any different with the (ever dimishing in number) remaining IT nutters.

I pointed out one reason why the literal endings are idiotic. Neither of you have said anything to  counter that. So your argument's seeming pretty idiotic too.

Why people still expected new endings after Bioware explicitly said many times that that won't be happening is beyond laughable

I expect it occurs because BioWare has explicitly said many other things about ME3 many times in the past....that turned out not to be true. But, BioWare's opinion on following Shepard's ideals of people being allowed to forge their own futures, etc. (despite their having set up those ideals rather nicely in previous installments of the series) should have been quite obvious to the OP. You just have to choose the "Refuse" ending to see it.

It's an overused quote made by Einstein that some folks actually think is a real definition. Image IPB

I'm a massive fan of the series and yes I do believe that they changed ME3 for EA, but to go on massive rants or argue over theories and proclaim that you will never buy a bioware game again need to realize **** happens and things don't always turn out the way you want, if a game means that much to you, you need to go outside to the real world more often.

People are having a hard time backing up their arguments tonight...

ME3 sold less units than ME2, which already hadn't done all that great. I would think that's a disappointment.

http://www.vgchartz....-sales-history/

Meanwhile, Battlefield 3, although yes, more casual focused, still sold 4x as many units, 16 million. Which IP do you think EA prefers? And Asasssins Creed III, which is less casual-focused than ME3, sold 9 million units, three times as much.

And for more perspective, Gears of War 3 was only on one console and sold two million more than ME3. The huge amount of work that goes into Mass Effect that sets it apart from other series - voice acting, writers  - that doesn't go into most has to be expensive.

Thinking that Bio intended that the Reapers were right all along? That's the idiocy part.... but it occurs to me that I shouldn't be tagging you with that brush automatically, since you might just be saying that Bio got there by accident.

And that's exactly what I`m saying! I don't believe BioWare could think that. That's why I believe IT.

Um...VG Chartz is bad information to follow, because their numbers are completely fudged in terms of accuracy.

Basically, you can't trust them.
