What this guy said.
I'm sorry that you aren't happy with what BioWare has made, but making an entire thread about it and storming off in a huff isn't the best way to address that disappointment.

Illogical and downright stupid argument there. If there was an ending changer in this DLC then Bioware would have been shouting a top the rafters about it to get those that hate the ending so much that they cannot appreciate the rest of the game to actually buy it. You could probably claim that they wanted it to spread by word of mouth, but that would not be a sound marketing strategy at all.avatar0 wrote...

Bye!
P.S. blame yourself for your disappointment, it was made explcitly clear that this DLC was not going to change the ending so don't know why you were harbouring these delusions.
And Bioware never lied to us before, right?
I swear there are so many people that get way too over emotional about the series that they lose the ability to think in a logical fashion.

Wait, you're moving "on" to games like Baldur's Gate? That seems like a step backwards to me. That BioWare is gone friend, you have to accept that.
Personally, I'm still undecided about this dlc, i've actually thought about getting it... I soon might. But yes, the ending sucks and will always suck. Thank god Mr. Fob could do what BioWare couldn't.
Hardly, it's merely appreciating those pieces of work that made the company great in the first place. Comparable to skipping Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars in favour of the original three, or ignoring the existence of Matrix 2-3.
And yep, agreed on the last count. Maybe it is ultimately a good thing BW would not and will not commit to extending their...questionable finale any further. Leaves room to fix it ourselves, and how things turn out that particular setup did not exactly inspire confidence they would have handled that at all well anyway had they proceeded.
Sad to see you go, N7Gold. You had some well thought-out ideas going, and it is indeed a shame BW would not entertain something more sophisticated. Makes one indeed wonder just where things went looking back on the trilogy.
At the very least, narrative suicide can be averted, and the story closed on a better note thanks to fans' work.

Isn't that exactly what happens though? Shepard unites everyone and they magically are allowed to win by Godchild?I just wanted to say that the idea we can defeat the Reapers with team spirit made me puke in my mouth a little.
Which doesn't mean that the exact opposite of what they say is true. And Bioware never lied to us before, right?

Why people still expected new endings after Bioware explicitly said many times that that won't be happening is beyond laughable
bioware explicitly say many things.... and mean none of them
an ending change was too much to expect but relying on bioware press releases for "truth"? lol funniest thing ive read here today.

The Team Spirit war asset made me believe that the way to defeat the Reapers Shepard's way is not by finding some other super weapon, but from the bonds of Shepard's allies and friends, who come in many different species, including a synthetic, EDI, which the Catalyst believes would always rebel from organics based on what he has seen back in the era when he tried to manifest the solution similar to Synthesis for the Leviathans. EDI and Joker's friendship is an example of what could happen if the Catalyst let life run its course instead of trying to dictate the way how life evolves and makes decisions.

See you later guys. I'm moving on to games like Baldur's Gate, who stay true to the narrative and nature of its characters.
I really hate to sound rude, but I'm a little shocked that you put both of these quotes in the exact same post. You may not like the way that the Mass Effect narrative ended, but I'd argue that the "Team Spirit" idea is even worse than the endings we already got. The Reapers are not going to be beaten merely because Shepard is part of the popular clique. At least BioWare stayed somewhat true to the extent of the Reaper threat by railroading you into inconvenient and, for some, even downright vile options. I'll leave the "friendship conquers all" theme to Yu-Gi-Oh! thanks.
This isn't really relevant to your topic , but I'll also just bring it up now since you have chosen to mention EDI. We don't really have any examples from the Mass Effect series that counter anything the Catalyst has to say. Its argument was never that peace between organics and synthetics was impossible, only that the peace is always temporary because of their differences. A several month snapshot between an individual who will live indefinitely and another who will not is hardly indicative of what is possible if the Catalyst would just "give it a chance". I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with the Catalyst's dogmatic views, but I do think that it is rather short-sighted to take such an example to be evidence that the Catalyst is inherently wrong.

Alot of people are the same as you OP, Its a shame as in 2007 when we started this story who would have thought it would have split a fanbase whilst making you turn away from it...
Lets just hope that after DA2/TOR/ME3 all recieved negative reaction they will now learn and blow our wooly socks off with the next DA and the next ME.... As lets be honest DA2 sold because of DAO being awesome, TOR sold because it was a star wars MMO( even tho i wanted a SP KOTOR) and ME3 sold because well, we all wanted to end the story....... They dont have that luxury anymore as fans will remember.
